Everyone here, I am reaching out from the bottom of my heart PLEASE we need your support, I know that alot of you will not be able to attend the march due to financial reasons, disabilities, etc, and I know that most of us are in pretty bad financial situations and can not donate any funds but one thing that EVERYONE can do is sign the petition, it costs you nothing but a minute of your time, I just looked at the present number of signatures and to tell you the truth it is disheartening, This man (Doc Meyers) and others are doing all this on your behalf, to bring an end to needless suffering, the least we could do is show our support by signing the petition. We are all here for a common reason, we or someone we love is suffering, am I not right? Take a moment, sign the petition, this has been done For YOU!!!! http://www.americanpaininstitute.org/
Thank You Tray

Wow! That is a disgraceful number of people, considering all of the CP sufferers there are out there. But to be heard, they can't rely on the support of others, they need to be a voice, too. I understand that some don't want to reveal their identities and such, but this is a campaign for me, you, your brother, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend, co-worker, etc., etc. We ALL need to be proactive in this battle! A little under 300 petitioners isn't going to do squat! So please don't fall victim because you didn't take action. You'll sorely regret it in the long-run.

Signed. That felt good...like I did my part even though I can't go to the March. I am really shocked that there are only a couple hundred signatures...considering all the pain sufferers that are in this country. C'mon CPS, this is what you want, this is being done for YOU!!! Help them help us!!
Try sending something like this to everyone in your address book in addition to signing:
The AMA estimates there are 70-80 million chronic pain patients in the US; the Drug Enforcement Administration (medical experts that they are) estimates the number is more like 9-10 million (maybe 10M +1 after Ashcroft's Gallbladder removal). As a consequence of this discrepency in outlook, the DEA has been applying extensive pressure to pharmacists, physicians and chronic pain patients. The petition on the following web page requests that congress hold hearings in an attempt to reconcile the two wildly divergent perspectives between the DEA and the AMA on this painful issue. Please have a look. Thanks, xxxxx.

Plotinus,
I took your advice and sent out and email to everyone in my address book thank you for opening my eyes to that idea, it worked I woke up to names on the petition list that I recognize , so I know it worked. Thank you for the idea!
Another thing we can do is print out the printable petetion and mail it in after you colllect the signatures, I have printed one out and plan to ask everyone that comes to my house to sign it. I am also mailing it to my best friend so that she can bring it to her church group to get signatures.
With the current state of affairs I honestly believe that we need to do something now, If they reschedule Hydrocodone with apap to sched II those of us that have turned to OPs are in some serious trouble. Theoretically, what would you do if this happened tomworrow? Do you even know? I sure dont. We have all found our way here for one reason or another but mostly because we either a. dont have insurance or b. have a MD that refuses to prescribe pain control even though we have the proof of our injuries/diseases.......We need our MDs to be free of these DEA shackles, I for one know my doc would properly treat me if not for the fear of losing his practice. The DEA is tightening it's grip, we need to stand up, I for one am attending the march, I hope to see those of you that can walk or hobble there, I know alot of you wont be able to make it, I completely understand , It has gotten harder and harder each day for me to get out of bed, I know for some that travel is impossible and I am lucky that DC is not that far from me. But we all really should sign this petition, as Sweetz pointed out you do not have to devuldge any personal information, your name and state is plenty, fill in the rest with n/a......Thank You to all that have signed!
Tray
