A problem with chemicals usually is only solved with other chemicals. Why isn't he in/on a Methadone program?? Or a Suboxone program?? That would help out tremendously cause, he would have no more physical cravings for the drug. Then, you just take him out of his normal environment which is filled with cues for taking more illegal drugs.

Plus, if he tried to use again, the Methadone would be blocking all other opiates from working. It really is amazing how LESS you think about using drugs while on Methadone or Suboxone.

How did he make out in jail without any opiates?? I'm sure very bad but I was hoping to find out what he did to cope with his situation. I hope it all works out for the best but from reading this entire thread, it seems the one major thing missing in his life is THE RIGHT DRUGS like Methadone or Suboxone.

Lot of people have reported kicking opiates cold turkey. God bless 'em. Some can and some can't.

They left her window down and she somehow managed to get her handcuffed hands out the window, open the door, and make a run for it! She got away from them for a time, and even watched from a neighbor's house as they went searching for her. Evidently, the neighbor helped her saw the cuffs in half and agreed to drive her back home a couple of hours later.

Too bad that the cops had roadblocks up-she was caught and then gave them fake ID telling the she was her cousin instead of herself, which didn't work, as they pulled up her sleeves and saw the sawed in half cuffs. This is a relatively small town in a state with pretty stiff consequences for possession and DUI charges. She stayed the night in the county jail, made bail, and never served another day in jail.

Great story jehza! Reads like a scene out of Cool Hand Luke, especially the part about sawing the cuffs...so would her fellow AA members at their meeting consider this as having a "slip?" Sorry, couldn't resist a bit of cavalier humor. Glad your friend only had one night in jail for that adventure...

RonAllen/JBRONC-
Not really helpful advice in my opinion. The main thing missing in this person's life is a drug free lifestyle.
From reading some of your prior posts here and elsewhere, I hope you finally reach the same bottom line. You are not exactly the poster child for advice on dealing with addiction problems.

Having a good attorney truly makes all the difference.

I, too, am concerned about Amy. She was always a regular poster and then just...vanished. Has anyone heard from her? I know she had some problems with a Direct Script and CVS. I hope she isn't in trouble..

Running from LE is about the stupidest thing anyone can do. I think of those people on Cops who flee from the police and, of course, are subsequently apprehended. The cops always ask, "WHY are you running?" to which the person replies, "Why are you chasing me??!" hahaaha

Hi guys......I know it has been a while and I am thrilled you guys are thinking about me....THANKS SO MUCH for caring!

No, lol, it was REALLY my brother.....not me.....

Mom and I did end up bailing my brother from jail and he is still waiting on a court date....they have continued it a couple of times already.

It was a very hard decision to make, but we decided that it was for the best.

He has been out a few weeks now (I think....time has flew) and he really seems like he is getting his priorities straight. Thank GOD for that. He has stopped the drugs and says he has no desire to go back to them.

I have meant to "stop" in and read and post on the board, but I swear it is like I can't find the time anymore....where does it go?

Hopefully I will try to find the time to post more but who knows.....

I am very thankful for great people like you guys....

I'm very glad to hear your brother is doing well and that RonAllen's advice went unheeded.
From what I've read, he is one of the last people to listen to regarding advice about problematic drug problems.

This is how she introduced herself in the meeting It's a well known story in our little town--she has had problems with the police since this happened. Yet I still see her driving around. I actually attended the hearing with her (at the time she was trying to stay sober, but I don't know if that is the case anymore) and recieved a lot of probation. Still confused on this one, but she is likeable nonetheless. I hope she gets it straightened out.

Amy, would you mind telling us a bit more about your brother's situation? (Not trying to be nosy ... I swear!!) Like, is he getting randomly drug tested? Has he started on Suboxone or anything? What was the bail, if you don't mind my asking?

Feel free to PM me and/or tell me to "mind your own beeswax." I have a close friend going through a similar situation, and I am very curious about how the law works in different states.

I can tell you for CERTAIN that he will have probation revocation which is an automatic felony....elluding the police is BAD....never do that no matter what. Why was he running anyway? he could have been killed! I suggest if he has a bond, and wants to get out. and its 10k, then that would be 1,000, tell him to call a bailbondsman and let him deal with it. that way you arent out any money and if he doesnt pay the bail bondsman then he has to deal with HIM.

Yes, he randomly gets drug tested and if drugs appear in his system, he will go back to jail.

He did not go on Suboxone or Methadone. Basically, he quit cold turkey when he was in jail and has not "converted" back.

I do see him weekly and have a good friend that is a neighbor of his, so I get the info. that I need, if needed \:\)

His tests have come back negative......so far so good.

He really does seem to be trying to get everything straight now.

Oh, they dropped his bail to $5000, at his "first appearance", while in jail.

To the other poster, he ran from the officer because he had percocets on him and obviously, he wasn't thinking straight at the time, but what's done is done. He made the wrong choice and will be paying for it for a while now.......and I agree TOTALLY with that. He did wrong and he needs to deal with the consequences.

Glad to hear your brother is continuing well in his recovery. While going cold turkey in jail is a very tough way to discontinue a drug habit, it nonetheless works in the long run in many cases.
He now needs a solid support system to stay clean. The next six months are the most crucial when it comes to relapse prevention. Whether it is AA, NA, SMART, whatever tools he needs are available to him along with your love and close personal support.

Thanks for the advice martind, I agree with you, completely.

He really seems to be a "changed" person, for the better. I do wish that he would consider doing something, like you mentioned, but I don't know that he will, as he thinks he can "handle" the temptation, if it were to arise. I hope he is right.

If he really did kick the physical part, it's all mental from here on out. He has to stay away from mental cues for him to use like people who he used to hang out with that used. Bars/clubs he went to and used. He's not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot but it's good to hear he is doing better.

chase started near foley and ended at the alvins island.i would think county da but the way laws here go it could be both city and county.all 3 entered guilty which in most cases the court goes lighter but not here.
