I am very strongly considering seeing the Illinois physician as I need to find local care. If anyone could post their experience with this company or their Illinois physician I would appreciate it.
If I see them, and I'm almost sure I will, I will post my experience as well.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I used their Illinois doctor & I highly recommend the company, Kelly is phenominal. I registered online plus sent my records in on monday. Tuesday I had my appointment set up for Wednesday. The doctor is very professional. She also practices acupuncture. I don't know if you know your way around Chicago, if you do Roosevelt Rd. (HWY38) will take you almost straight there. They only take appointments on Mon. Wed. & Fri. Don't get caught in the rush hour traffic!

MrJR,

Thanks for posting your experience. I have very good records and will be sending them in soon. If you got pain medication, do you mind me asking how many they prescribed? I know it's different for everyone but they had mentioned that they script up to 120 ct.

Thanks,

BBM

Mr. JR:

Could you please tell me how long it takes once you fax your records to them? Did they have to speak with you before you saw anyone or did they go off your records?

Thanks in advance for your inout, it is very much appreciated!

Just an update to anyone interested: I faxed my records in yesterday afternoon and received an email today stating that my records had been approved for an appointment! I am very excited to see this doctor, especially after the good reviews. Thanks so much for posting them.

I will keep folks updated as this seems a very good answer to the ongoing difficulties with traditional OCS.

What is NNCIP and where is it located in Illinois? I'm 40 some miles west of Chicago and know Roosevelt Road (Rt. 38) there well.

What type of clinic is it?

I am still awaitng an appointment time but hopefully will have it by the end of the day. I have been speaking with Kalee who has been very nice and professional.

Although I have not seen the doctor yet I would highly recommend this route to anyone who lives in state they service and who has really good records. There is much comfort in knowing you have a doctor who understands your pain and can get prescriptions filled without difficulty and they are reasonably priced!

I will post once I have my appointment and the outcome.

I live in Milwaukee, WI which is maybe an hour from Chicago or so. Can I use the service? Or do you have to be an IL resident?

Thanks.

I have never seen the discount code but read that DB members get $15.00 of the initial consult and $10.00 off refills.

I am unsure about Milwaukee but my pain doctor moved to Wiscosin for a few months and I had no problem getting my refills in Illinois. Hope that helps.

I completed my appointment this evening and I can't say enough good things about this service. As other posters have noted, it is so nice to walk into a Walgreen's and get your presciption filled without questions by a doctor licensed to treat pain medicine patients. It sure beats waiting weeks if not months for mediaction and then being charged a fortune for it. After the initial consult it's just $99.00/$109.00/month plus the cost of the meds which for me is $10.00. I believe they also have a service where they send meds via a pharmacy for those who don't have insurance to cut the cost.

If you have good records I would definetly go this route. I have a rare condition and the doctor was very thorough and was able to treat me, no questions asked. Now I am set for a year. What a relief!

I want to thank all those who gave their feedback and encouragemnt on this board, especially MrJR. Thank you!

Pastilage that's awesome! Thanks for the update.

It looks like the Illinois doctor of NNCIP is running smoothly. It seems almost too good to be true.

Once I have my appoinment I will definitely be back to update everyone. It sure will be nice to not have to worry for a whole year.

Thanks again to both you and MrJR,

BBM

Well they are 3 for 3 so far with their Illinois doctor. I just had my appointment and have to agree with everything that has already been said. The Dr. was extremely nice and sympathetic to my pain and what I've been through. I am soooo happy to be out of that rat race with OCS's and the waiting game.

The system here for refill is simple. You simply go on their site a few days before your current script is up and request the new refill and they will either send you the script overnight Fed Ex or fax the new script directly to the pharmacy of your choice which is what I will do. That is exactly how it worked years ago with my ortho doctor before he retired. I just called him up and he faxed a script to my pharmacy.

I highly recommend going with NNCIP for anyone that does have good records because there's no hiding it from a doctor that is seeing you face to face and giving you a thorough physical.

Later,

BBM

That's great BBM! I really hope that folks who have been in this rat race of OCS's that they will consider using this service or onr like it. It is such a relief to not have to worry about the never-ending delays, uncertainty and confusion not to mention dealing with DHL.

I'm really glad it went well for you, have a wonderful weekend!

BBM They seem solid, why won't they write w/2 refills like a direct script or OCS? Just wondering if you asked them thanks...

Hey Hup,

I never did really ask specifically but I know with the Direct script companies you have to re-consult every 3 month, but here you don't. Your once a year face to face consult is really good for a whole year. You do have to speak by phone with the doctor every 3 months but the doctor told me that it is nothing formal, just to check on us and to see if anything major has changed with our condition. She said it should be nothing more than a few minutes to check on how we're doing.

I suppose some of it is because of money, but with the DB discount it costs just $99 for the refill each month and luckily with my insurance the script is only $15.

Even if it does come out to a little more than using a direct script company for a year, it's well worth it because you are seeing the doctor face to face and don't have to worry about the Alpha's closing it down. Even in the very unlikely event, somthing happened to NNCIP and they shut down, I would still have the relationship with this doctor and could continue seeing her. However, if the same happened with your direct script company, you would be again looking for another company, faxing in more records, hoping your accepted and don't get an idiot doctor etc. You just can't put a price on Peace of Mind.

That's the best explanation I can give you. Anybody else want to chime in??

good points, the value then is having drs. on board.how long before the drs. names get out and we cut out the middle man and go directly to the dr.I guess the OCS will have to have an exclusive contract somehow w/the dr.

I agree with everything being said. Wonderful service.

Just beware of the pharmacy located right by the doctor! I was given significatly less medication then prescribed but I didn't catch it until I got home. I'll just have to deal with it until next month. This has never happend to me before. However, this is neither nncip's or the doctor's fault. Can't say enough good thigs about them!

pastilage---- i have never heard of being shorted on your meds from the pharmacy.

did you call or go in and complain?
surely they have to justify the reason for shorting your meds but you still paid for the full script.

something has got to be done to correct your missing meds.

wtf>???

have you or are you going to do anything about this?

Just to follow-up my pharmacy dilemma as I am sure others will use this pharmacy as they are very familiar with the pain specialist and it is very convenient.

I went to the pharmacy this morning and told them what happened. This pharmacy is a bit out of may way but figured I'd get a better response if I actually showed up. I received an email from another poster this morning that she had been shorted as well two days after my prescription was filled. I was very nervous about saying anything as I adore the doctor and did not wish to alter my relationship with her in any way by "being difficult" at the pharmacy. I almost let it go but it has been a very painful past three weeks and it was 1/4 of my total prescription that was missing.

The pharmacist on duty was very nice. They did a pill count, and lo and behold they were over about thirty pills. She simply gave me the medication to complete the prescription and I was out of there. They were great, totally NOT what I was expecting although luckily for me the mathed worked in my favor. Also, I was told that because the amount on my pill bottle was not circled in pen and initialed by the pharmacist they were suspicious that it was not counted correctly before they conducted the pill count. Never knew that they did this with controlled meds but I guess I have seen that on the bottle in the past.

Just an fyi, you might want to make sure you have the accurate count prior to leaving...
