I am considering going the direct script route -- seems to be the wave of the future, no? -- and I'm wondering which one experienced people would recommend. I'm looking for reliability and quick turnaround, both in terms of the consult and the shipment of the script if issued. Any opinions?

Do local Doctors count? The best place for me is my local Doctor, I get the script handed to me and I go fill it at the pharmacy of my choice.
I guess this is Off Topic.
I don't know of any places online that send a script instead of the meds. Somehow, it would seem if you just had a piece of paper versus the meds you'd have an extra step to get the meds now. I prefer to get it all done at once and have the meds shipped to me.
If I got a script from a Doctor in say New Jersey and I wanted to fill that in Nebraska, someone might look at this funny. You surely would have to be prepared to have a "story" of why this is. I suppose you could say you got the script on a business trip but didn't have time to fill them. But how many times can you come up with a new story? The next time you go to fill, you'd have to find another pharmacy. Seems like a pain in the butt.
If I had a compassionate local doctor, I wouldn't need these services at all, so that's no answer.
I too would prefer to just have the meds shipped to me and not have to go through the extra step, but anyone who has been paying attention knows that the traditional OCS that operate that way are all struggling and way behind, when they're still in business at all. Direct script seems to be a model to which many services and patients are turning. I'm just wondering which ones are doing it reliably and quickly without a lot of runaround.

I disagree, UltraWebMeds.com is shipping on time and you receive meds in a bottle from DHL. So if you were paying attention you'd see you're missing the boat. I hear it won't be long and UWM won't be taking on new patients.
I think no matter which DS service you find, there will be a certain amount of runaround. I've also read a lot about people having problems trying to cash their scripts out. If that doesn't concern you, then you might fair well with a DS plan.
Although, if you haven't tried UWM, I would go that route first. The prices are inline with others if you use the DISCOUNT code(s).
I went the D.s. once and now no pharmacy will fill them in Tennessee. I got three refills when I went that route, would not do it again. You might have better luck than I did so look around and see if it will work for you.
I live in TN and have been using MDhotline, they call it right in to one of the "big" chain pharmacies and I have never been questioned. I also heard yourehelath is very good, they offer the same services

I heard thru the grapevine that UltraWebMeds.com might offer a DS program. They also posted somewhere that they hope to get Florida back as a state. Hopefully, they will get your state back or start to service it.
Anyway davidi66, I wish you nothing but the best of luck. Keep me updated with what happens to you. I'm pretty interested in this whole process.
Thanks for all the info, guys. This whole scene is madness, isn't it? Those of us still in our right minds need to stick together, huh? I don't foresee any problem with DS here in Georgia. I am going to use my friendly local mom and pop pharmacy just to be on the safe side. I will post again and let everyone know who I used and how it went. I am due for a phone consult today so we will see. I have an important 6-day business trip coming up next week and I really need to get this taken care of so that I can be effective and functional. Otherwise I am going to be in trouble.
Thanks, Shmoopy. Love the nickname and think I know the origin of it too!

I use Consults Direct. I re-consulted a couple of weeks ago. It cost me 120.00. They overnited the RX to my door via COD which has 2 refills on it. I picked it up at FEDEX, walked across the street to Costco and got 90 hydros in 20 minutes for 14.99. FYI thier ibuprofen costs more than the hydro.
This is a no-brainer and the way to go if you are tired of the "is-my-ROP-shipping-today_roller-coaster" and tired of paying 200.00 for 15 bucks worth of meds. No slam to the ROP's, but if you use them, have fun and break out a large stack of money.

Has anyone in Washington State used a direct script service?

I am checking into MD Hotline and will post back whatever I find out.
Has anyone else reading this forum tried a direct script in Georgia? If I end up going that route, that's where I'd be attempting to get it filled. I really don't anticipate any problems. I think at least some places will call it in directly if there's a problem with the paper one.

I direct fax to the pharm is great. In California, the strict interpretation CA Pharm Board Law requires a valid RX to be on a California Secure Blank which an out of state doc does not have access too. The preferred method in CA for an out of state doc is a direct call from the doc. If any of you are wiggy about going into your pharm with a Florida paper script (and you should be, a little, lol...) the direct call in is SWEET. I wish Consults Direct did that.

Is MDhotline related to other sites or are they a site that has gone down and come back? I've been with a few that have gone down and I know I've filled out those forms before. Anybody know about that? I think having the meds called into your pharmacy is the way to go!
