I do have to say this...
We have a lot of "lurkers" who either:
a) don't register for fear that their registration might get them in trouble -- when a website says they "never give out personal information" sometimes that can mean the exact opposite. DB is not that kind of place, but some people just don't realize that
b) even if a person has registered, they might not post a lot if they don't have questions or something to say.
I posted my mom's experience because I wanted to give an honest review of the company, and she didn't want to register. Customer service can be great at many places, but if the package rattles or the doctor seems shady or not compassionate, those are things that scare me. Fortunately, I realized her definition of "short" was a bit different than most. As much as I love my mom, she expects any medical professional to listen to all of her current woes and give her advice on even ones that medical professional is not qualified to do so. (Once I explained that they were specifically a pain management specialist and nothing else, she felt they did well.)
I'm sure you know that I have a reputation for bluntness, if nothing else, even if it's not nice. This board wouldn't be nearly as helpful if people aren't blunt and honest about their experience.
If, when Mom gets her package tomorrow, it is well-packaged and makes her feel like she is ordering from a legitimate company, believe me, I'll let you know. I'll also let you guys know about her further experiences with the company. I've read a lot of the OCS threads and many will treat you like gold when you first consult, but getting refills may be another question.
I may not give a "glowing" review, but that's because hyperbole doesn't entirely sit well with me. Nor does shadiness -- which is why I posted when I realized the "Saran wrap" looked to be coming to an end. Not to be mean or to diss a company that got me my BC and Buspar on time and cheap, but because I was worried that if people were dependent on only one source, and that source goes out the window, the patients end up being the ones at the short end of the stick.
As to how long they'll last... I don't know. With the current environment, even having a scare with Madison Pain Clinic that someone posted and the results of the Hurwitz retrial, and especially the Feinstein bill, OCSes may not have a long future.
Take care, all, and please do all of the research you can before choosing an OCS. Find a couple that don't seem to use the same pharmacies (might be difficult for those in TN, but such is life), that seem legitimate, in case your current one bites the dust. If one doesn't think proactively, one might get screwed should Big Brother try to step in and tell people what's best for them, as has happened so many times.

Color me green with envy for you folks who are privileged to use ProServe.
I called to find out if they served NC. The gentleman I spoke with did not just tell me that they could not, but explained in detail WHY they couldn't and why no other legitimate service can.
ProServe will never make a dime off me because they are unable to ship to my state, yet they took the time to answer all my questions in a polite and friendly manner.
If that's the way they treat a stranger who can never be a patient of theirs, then dealing with them as one of their members must be a rare treat.
O.K., I,myself, take what someone says with a grain of salt if they don't have seventy - leven posts, so you may think I'm just a Shill. These people don't need one! They treated me right and I wanted everyone to know it. Courtesy like that is pretty scarce these days.
On a different note, if you know of anyone who still dares to risk sending to NC, please let me know. I've been on DB off and on for years, have excellent records, and a credit card burning a hole in my wallet....not to mention some pains that won't go away on their own...LOL
Rockin' Regards,

No ill intent meant Larry. But If a website says they ship your product, whatever that may be, you wouldn't want to get a piece of paper saying go pick it up yourself, or would you? Thats not what you were told, thats not what the website says, As a pc savoy person, it takes minutes to change wording on a website, and this change is a huge change. I agree, this saves people money, but there are far more implications here turning your written and advertised policy around.
Saying your delivering a product when your not isn't a common sense approach. I understand the reasoning, but you have to understand the customer's side of feeling deceived.

Uhh...no. I never said I sent, signed up, made any phone calls or otherwise. I was merely commenting on PSN. I was pm'd about you, and said I never used you, but would read the thread and check out your website. After doing so, I read the posts about unhappy people saying your website says you send out medication, and went to direct scripts without changing your policy. So I thought that was misleading, and posted it as such. I have been self-employed for 33 years, and If I say I ship them a product, I do, and if I can save them money by them getting it locally (local pharmacy in this instance) I say that on my website, not them expecting to have it delivered, thats all.
When I order something, I do it from the website, and expect the terms of whats written, not call the company and place an order, thats what the websites for, so you can expect what the terms are stated, and order without having to call.
