Looking for a reliable, fast, and cheap US source. [Don't forget to consider the cost of consultation]. 30/month should be plenty~

No help with the source, but just a friendly word of warning. Ambien can sneak up on you and bite you in the *ss. I took it for three months and could not sleep without the stuff. It is very habit forming. You may want to try Lunesta. It worked just as well and is less habit forming JMHO.

IMHO...

All sleeping medications are habit forming....even if you're used to just taking Nyquil to go to slee [period]

Whatever substance you think you need to go to sleep will keep you awake when you don't have it or try to stop taking it to go to sleep.

My doctor has already given me samples of ambien, and it has been a lifesaver. In one of my bouts of insomnia, I have gone as long as 8 days with no quality sleep. At that point, I stop eating (because my appetite is zilch), and can barely function. I use an records pharmacy, but just had a consult a few weeks ago, and was told that if I wanted ambien, I'd have to pay for an additional consult. I really don't need all that much of it (with refills to boot), so was thinking that a NROP might end up being cheaper.

A NROP won't be cheaper; they will chage you up to $200 for a 30 day sypply. I know some IOPs (overseas pharmacies)that offer it (the generic version) for tons less per dose. PM me if you want; us Georgia girls gotta stick together.

Because of the difficulty of sleeping with DDD, pillows don't help, they hurt, heat rarely, and massage kills. Ambien helps, a little.
With good insurance, the tier of Ambien costs me $70 for a months supply. That is my co-pay. It is extremely costly. And until the patent is gone, there is no generic, and it will remain the most expensive med I order, or take, prescrbed by my doc. There is an ad on TV for a free trial of Ambien CR. I'm gonna do it. One week less of paying is almost $17.oo
Yay!

I always seem to feel the effects of ambien the next day. I usually end up taking 3 hour naps (whereas before, I was a total insomniac). I wonder if ambien cr would not just make this worse...?

Thats odd, the half life of Ambien is only about 4 hours or so. Could it be that you are taking something else with Ambien that could cause the after effects?

That could be it... I'm taking symbyax (which has the antipsychotic olanzapine in it). I started taking both medications at the same time, and ambien seemed like an easy culprit.

I only take ambien right before bed, and take the symbyax when I wake up (at 2pm these days). I get intensely groggy, and go back to bed at around 6, and sleep for various hours. Oh, and I'm also taking suboxone three times a day... is that supposed to be sedating as well? I've read some comments on it being difficult to sleep on suboxone...

IMO Ambien being that it has a very short half live, taken by itself most do not have the next day hangover.

The patent on Ambien is still in effect, so there will be no generic version allowed in the US for a few more years, I think.

You can go to the US List and look at the places that have no consult fee (or the places that have consult fees) pull up their websites, and I'd say a good 45-50% of them carry Ambien, but you are looking at a $200-$300 price tag for a 30 day supply.

I have not ordered from them yet, but Onlineconsultationservice offers #30 10mg's for $129.99 and no consult fee. My local pharmacy is charging me over $36 for 10 of them! The OP is actually CHEAPER!

I'm also looking at yourpainmanagement. After the $125 consult charge, you get 25 @ $85 with three refills.

Oh, and the IOPs are REALLY cheap for the generic zolpidem! With some of them, you can get delivery within a week or less. Biotran gives free samples.

Anyone try getting ambien from budgetmedicines.com? They have pretty good prices... $55 for #30 or $109 for #60 with free shipping. I think this is an IOP, but I'm not sure.

I was looking into offshore-pharma and rxpuravida.. the prices on the meds are comparable, but with these sources, you have to pay for the western union transfer, and $40 shipping, I believe.

Ambien has a very short half life, that's why many ppl will wake up in the middle of the night. I took it for a short while, but it just was not working right.

I grew to *love* ambien after my first dose. I was suffering from a week-long insomnia. When I don't sleep, I lose my appetite and wasn't eating either. By the time I finally went to the doc for it, I could barely hold myself up.. I was exhausted and weak. She sent me home with 10 ambien and I took 2 right away. I was skeptical that it wouldn't work because my body is very much used to taking sedatives and depressants. After 15 minutes, my computer screen starting looking really weird.. pictures on the 'net were suddenly 3D, letters were swirling and coming off the screen. I don't know why, at the time, I thought my dad would see the same thing if he looked at it, but he did not, of course, and he told me I was going to ruin my monitor if I didn't stop stroking it. I was trippin'... I guess 2 was overkill. I don't remember anything after that... I fell asleep in the living room for 12 hours. Oh, it felt so good to finally sleep!!!

astrophel2~ I take Ambien CR, and I sleep for about 5-6 hrs with no residual effects. The intial dosing is less than regular ambien. Ambien CR is 7.5 as opposed to 10mg, and then 5 mg is time released throughout the night.

AbbeyArt-Patent is up for regular ambien in October 2006. Generic coming sooner than you think! YIPPPEEEE!!

This medication is a livesaver for me.

hindemith is right, the patent expires next year and it can't come soon enough for me. I also have a dilemna, because on my last consult with my ROP, I forgot to ask for it. Received my shipment today and no Ambien
If anyone has any good NROP's that carry it, I would sure appreciate it. I used carepills last time, but I'm betting they are gone now.
If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it here.
Hope everyone has a pain free day and a good nights sleep

Hind~ thanks for the site, I bookmarked it.

How do you go about getting the freebie Ambien CR? Did your doctor give you some samples? Or do I have to fill something out from the ambien webpage?

Simp - I'm searching for just ambien sources as well. Would you consider a IOP source? budgetmedicines.com has relatively cheap prices for ambien - $55 for #30, and $109 for #60. They take CCs online, shipping is FREE, and orders ship within 48 hours, and the packages usually get to your house within 5-21 days, with the average being 10 days. Another user mentioned that she has ordered from them 3 times, and has never had a problem with the company.

Now, if you're looking to buy from NROPs, be prepared to pay $150, if not more, plus those lovely, exorbitant S&H fees.

If you find a better deal somewhre out there - Let us know!

Regarding Ambien Cr freebie: Go to the AmbienCr webpage, print out their coupon and take it to your doctor. Ask him to write a 7 day precription to match the coupon. Then take both to the pharmacy and the prescription will be free.
