Some of you know about my story - being hurt pretty badly in a car accident back in July. Anyway, my no fault ran out and I had to fire my pain physician. My reason for firing him was three fold.

First he would only prescribe brand name medications (with the exception of Valium) That would not have been an issue, but there was an issue with the company that does the billing for no-fault prescriptions regarding some paperwork that they never received, and they would not pay any other claims till that was straightened out. At that time it was not an option to wait, so I wound up having to shell out over $300 in medications. Second - he kept trying to force a procedure down my throat that I did not want done - even going to the extent of scheduling me for the procedure with the hospital.

And the last reason was that he would over-medicate me. The hospital and the first physician that prescribed the medications for me prescribed 5mg of Percocet. This doctor first prescribed 7.5mg's and then went up to 10mg's. Now most people wouldn't complain about that, but I can not function on Percocet.

Now that my no-fault is done with, I have to pay a physician out of pocket. No physician that I saw (including the VA) will prescribe anything strong enough to touch the pain when it flares up.

A script for Hydrocodone would do me fine. It will help my pain when it flares up and I can still function when I take it.

I see that Dr.facetoface.com has a physician not too far away from me in NY (Brooklyn). Does anyone have any experience with this service or doctor? What can I expect when I go to a face to face? I have never used one of these services before and I'm not sure what to expect.

Any advice is appreciated. I just want to make sure that I am not making a mistake. Thanks.

Well I don't know anything about this Company! Good Luck the Price seems Reasonable but I don't understand about the Shipping ...Don't you walk out the Dr Office with the Script or are they sending you the Meds? Sems Like they ship you the Scripts which sounds Costly...I think you would be better off Walking out the Door with the Script and a Couple of Refills. JMHO

Well I emailed CS on Friday to ask if the records that I had were sufficient. I didn't expect a reply for hours, so I logged off to get some other things done.

When I logged back on later, I found that CS replied to my email ligthening fast. I emaile them again asking how the process works, but by now it was after business hours - so I'm expecting a reply on Monday.

I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Drfacetoface.com is the ROP SVS (Special Value Services), they have been around for years. I've used them as SVS some time ago with no problems. I haven't used their new face to face service though. I will tell you, however, that I was thinking about using them and they lost their Pensacola doctor. So I'm glad that I didn't because I would have paid $289 for a face to face and would have had to do it over. That is the main thing you have to worry about being screwed on with all these F2F services.

Would anyone be familiar with Webmedstogo.com? I seen on a post that the company made in another forum that they have a physician that is very close to where I live. By very close I mean a 15 minute drive.

They look to be a bit pricey though - it seems as if maybe Drfacetoface.com is maybe my best option??

I wish I knew more about all this stuff. The amount of information on this site is mind boggling - I just wish that I was physically able to sit longer and read more and more through it.

If I sit for a long period, I get the flareup in my lower back. I can deal with that, but the pain radiates down my legs which is what makes it unbearable. I have a TENS unit that I bought specifically for when this happens, but I have to run it through a 30 min cycle laying down. And once I'm laying down I don't want to get back up lol.

I have been with Dr Face to Face (fka SVS) for many years and their service is absolutely superb. As Tiprail noted, they like all services cannot control their drs and sometimes patients end up screwed. I had a bad experience with a DrF2F dr and they were amazing in the support they gave me in rectifying the situation. Deserting doctors are always a problem but with DrF2F you will not have to worry about service or integrity (and I am NOT a Shill).

Btw, I haven't had experience with the Brooklyn doctor and I don't know exactly where you are but I highly recommend their doctor in Phillipsburg, NJ. Something of a hike but worthwhile.

Do you have any problems getting the scripts filled in NY with a NJ physicians script? Or do you get the scripts filled at a pharmacy in NJ (like CVS, etc) and have them transferred to a pharmacy in NY?

The doc in brooklyn is about a 30 min drive for me - not too bad. The other service's doc is about 10-15 mins away from me. But the pricing looks to be quite high.

I understand that the services can not control their doctors, but I would assume that it would be in the doctors best interest from a financial standpoint to go with the flow or risk being dropped by the service. And for some reason I highly doubt that the type of physician that would involve themselves in something like this would leave on their own, with the exception of law trouble.

All this information here is enough to make my head spin lol. It's alot for someone who is new to all this to take in.

What can I expect during one of these face to face visits? Is it basically just a quick glance over by a doctor that is indifferent, or is it a doctor that treats you like a human? I think I already know the answer, but figured I would ask anyway)

I'm waiting to hear back from Drfacetoface.com Mon morn sometime. Then I'll also look around at some other services and make my decision. But from what I see so far, Drfacetoface looks as if they have the best pricing so far.

Again, I'm all ears for suggestions and advice.

It sure is. I had no idea how inexpensive some of them were, or I would have bought one from the get go. Only thing is that you have to change the electrodes every 20-30 uses.

I found some electrodes that are perfect - made for the lower back. A long strip that goes straignt across the back. I either use jusr one, use both on the lower back, or use one on the lower and the other on the upper. Feels like a real good massage after the cycle is finished.

That TENS unit was the best $110 I ever spent.

No problem getting an NJ script filled in NY (I use CVS but I think they are generally honored since the states are adjacent and so many people commute either way.) The doctor I see is thorough and compassionate. She doesn't go into a highly detailed injury exam because she isn't an othropod but is absolutely on top of my overall health issues, medication etc. Human treatment? Absolutely.

Thanks for the info. I just might go with the physician in NJ, depending on how far into NJ the drive is. If it's too far I may just go with the doc in Brooklyn. Or if they have a doc in PA (Allentown area) I may go there and have a chance to make some extra scratch by bootlegging some cigs back to NY. I think someone mentioned that they are $3.20 a pack there - I could takc $2 a pack on and make a tidy profit.

Besides. I'm havimg some performamne work done to my car and would love to take it over the road afterwards.

My main concern is being treated like a human being. I'm so sick of doctors looking at me like I'm just part of the down payment on their new Mercedes....

The unit I bought is the first one listed on the page. The electrodes you will find under Electrode Pads and Accessories on the left hand side of the page.

They sell units that range from the very basic one that I have all the way up to professional models costing way over $1,000.

Only thing is that the electrodes are only good for 20-30 uses. Believe me - you'll know when their time is up. I started getting minor shocks from mine as I tried to push them past their maximum usage recomendation.

Some people say they get great relief from ten's unit. I have had one used on my back during physical therapy and it did reduce the pain for awhile.

I know it does wonders for me when the pain in my lower back flares up and starts to radiate down my legs. It is the only thing that will stop it. I swear by it for that, and for that reason alone it was worth the $110.

I'm just happy that I found those electrodes designed for the lower back. It was a pain to attach two or four small electrodes on my lower back by myself. The electrodes for the lower back are one long stip - much easier to apply.

I run myself through a 30min cycle on it, slowly ramping the power up to the max and that does the trick for me. The max power on the unit I have is about maybe a quarter of the power that the unit that my Chiro uses on me. Nut for home use it works just fine.

Well I've decided to go with DrFacetoFace.com I just have to gather my records up. I will probably schedule something within the next two weeks.

Out of all of them, I found them to be the most reasonable. Also there CS department has been the most responsive to my emails - responding mostly within an hour after I clicked the send button.

I would have rathered to have gone with WebMedsToGo.com, as they have a doctor that is literally a 10 minute drive from where I live. Butthey are more expensive, and take a long time to respond to emails.

Maybe I'm jut funny and fussy that way, but I would rather go with a company that offers excellent CS even if they charge more. In this case, the company with the better CS is the cheaper one.

I am still undecided on which doctor to use - the one in Brooklyn or the one in NJ. I'm leaning more towards Brooklyn as I am familiar with the area in which the doctor is located.

As far as the cost goes - I find that DrFaceToFace.com is actually cheaper than what my pain physician was - at least on follow up consults. The initial consult is only about $50 more than what my former pain physician charged me.

Granted, my pain physician would write multiple scripts. I would be happy with just a script for Hydrocodone for the bad days and maybe a script for Soma in case the spasms should flare up bad again. Lately the spasms have been very minor - minor enough that the TENS unit handled them.

But even if the doctor won't write for Soma, I can always get it from the no records places that are out there - thats what I did the last time. Although the price paid was higher than if I had a script filled at the local pharmacy, it was still cheaper than going to a traditional physician to get the script.

Instead of the Soma I would gladly take something that will help me sleep. I'm sure that I'm not alone here - I'm sure that anyone that suffers from pain (and I know that most of the pain issues that members have here are MUCH worse than mine) can attest to having trouble sleeping due to the pain.

Does anyone know if the Brooklyn doctor will write more than one script?

And thank you all again for your help and support. I now feel that I am not alone in all of this. The support that I have found here has been amazing - even though my condition is probably not half as bad as what most members here suffer from. I am really glad that I came across this site.

I will let you all know how things turn out. I have my Chiro/PT appointment today (Fri) and it can't come soon enough for me. Today was a bad day pain wise, and of course I have no pain meds left - only Soma. So I took that which only helped so-so and kept me in bed most of the day. The TENS unit didn't even make a dent in the pain today.

Of course the services can't control the doctors decisions but Dr Face to Face itself is not a scam, anything but...they are the most helpful people I've ever worked with in any capacity. They charge for their services but fairly and consistently with their competitors whose service is not as good.

The experience at each doctor is different. The first MD I saw from Dr F2F was a nightmare, the second was great. Try them.

I haven't gotten there yet. I'm having difficulty getting my hands on the one record that I need. It's all fill out this in triplicate and you'll hear from up in around four weeks.

On a brighter note (if you want to call it that) I went out of town fora few days to visit some relatives. While there - lower back flared up. Cousin took me to his doctor and I was given a script for #90 Lorcet. So that at least buys me a bit of time.'

But as soon as I get my hands on that needed record, I will be using the service and will report back on my experience.

I live in Wisconsin and had a F2F with Phoneconsultation.com and was very happy with the dr. Even gave me 3 refills for migraine pain. I would highly recommend this service to anyone in the Midwest.

Interesting, for migraine pain teacher? Please tell more, I was under the impression that none of these F2F services would not treat migraines, only illnesses that have xray or mri proof. What quantity did you get if you do not mind me asking.
