Customs is now part of the Department of Homeland Security. Therefore, the first letter below is now printed on Dept. Homeland Security Stationery and has three more pages, parts of which one can return depending if the recipient wants to challenge the forfeiture in court or have the property foreited immediately.

It could be inferred that the other letters are also on Homeland Security Stationery or from the FDA in certain circumstances.

Trash it, its just a "love letter" from them telling you they seized you're meds. If its controlled than its illegal to import in and I would assume challenging the seizure would result in admitting guilt.
Now if it was allergy meds or something like that that got seized then I guess you could challenge it.
Most likely you get a second letter month later if you don't challenge it saying that the meds/articles have been forfeited.

There are anectdotal instances chronicled on this board regarding members who received numerous "love letters", and were subsequently visited/arrested by the DEA. I don't believe that the veracity of these postings were ever verified.

Do they keep a black list of addresses once you get a love letter?
My friend recently got his first one, and he doesnt want any feds knocking on his door, yet he cant afford a doctors visit and prescription prices. How many letters are considered dangerous? would getting a P.O. box help him?

Admin! That first letter you posted had me laughing for a full minute! There were only like 6 or 8 typos in it. Not sure how real that one was.

What I have received is entirely different, But I think They are printed in Cebu City!

Nice one - I wondered about that also, but after the 2nd LL I got, I received a package from Cebu City that had NOT been tampered with.

I just received a LL, in fact, it's sitting right beside me as I type this. Interestingly, I've received one of the packages, but the other (containing the exact same thing) was confiscated. It makes me wonder, just HOW do they know if it's a controlled substance in the envelope rather than a letter from Uncle JoeBob?

The attachment shows a letter you may receive if your try to import prescription drugs via mail into Canada

You can see a recent US Confiscation Letter at:
www.drugbuyers.com/loveletter

Please attach your letter, if different from those already posted, to a post or email / Fax them to us

Please take those letters seriously. Do not assume you will be so lucky next time. The letters are a personal warning.

The letter had your name and address on it. You should not ignore it. You received the letter, you can receive a visit from LE too.

The letter clearly says you can not import any controlled substances or prescription drugs containing controlled substances... and clearly warns you that if you do it again you may be prosecuted...

You are proof that they don't know ... since one did and one didn't. It must be random.

I'm interested in the LL, from the other poster, that came from Seattle instead of San Fran. So San Fran isn't the only westcoast customs? Has anyone else received from any iop where it came through Seattle? Would love to know Thanks for any info.

Once upon a time or two or three. I also received some of those love letters. Each time, they said the same exact thing. If I can find my way back to this thread, find the letters, I'll scan or upload them for you folks.

I can tell you, the port of entry also screamed CHECK ME..lol. Florida, with the packages coming from Peru. Yikes! Heading to my home in the midwest, which is about a 10 hr. drive to the Mexican border. Something we used to do once or twice a yr. Should have stuck with that plan instead of being lazy. In the end, it actually cost me more and I ended up with NOTHING.

I can now look back and laugh, and write it off as "it seemed like a good idea at the time" as well as young and dumb, but lucky!
(BTW...it's been yrs. since this happened and that pharmacy STILL calls me for refills, I tell them I no longer take the medication, never call me again but guess they don't understand English very well in Peru, unless it's the word Diazepam or Valium )

Haha eek! That sounds like a disaster. Did they come knocking on your door? Well in any case, these love letters look terrible. I'd rather just search for a compassionate doctor in the U.S. than to try to order online now. Was thinking about ordering online from overseas, but it looks like it's not worth it for the risks

Well, I don't know why I, a suburban MD stay at home mom who cares for her own mom and kids and animals, rates an actual honest-to-gosh visit from two lovely and polite DEA agents today. I hemmed and hawed, but they apparently knew some stuff already, made it clear that they weren't after me - is that true, do you think? - and only wanted to go after the big bad guys who coat their pills with paint and use antifreeze as an ingredient. With quite straight faces, I must admit.

But oh sh**, they scared me to death!Hubby less than a year from a military retirement, and the crazy thing is, I don't even take the darn pills. Mom has severe spinal stenosis, is bed-bound and in contant pain from degenerative arthritis. To watch her cry from pain and know that most touch hurts her terribly is enough to make me go to my room and cry. And I'm on enough anti-depressant and sleep meds that I need nothing ordered for myself, thanks to the stress all this has brought on.

But on to practical matters. Will this tag team be back to search my home, look through my bank statements - I showed them one, don't ask me why, I too am asking why in the world? . . . Can they grill my neighbors about us? Take away my Social Security from my neurological disability? I just don't know, which I consider barbaric in itself. Why teach us algebra and calculus when we need to learn to conduct ourselves with dignity during drug raids? Okay, that's an exaggeration, but still . . . If some kind soul out there has any ideas, please let me know, I'm just totally at a loss here. I'm wandering in the wilderness with barely a candle to light the way and oh, brother, am I scared.
