I get just about double what you get per day for my injuries chuck, and i have a great PM doc as well (i also live in FLA). where do you get the idea that i think there is something wrong with you? (other than being in pain)

my post was referring to ron calling me an idiot, stupid and a drug seeker when i replied that you can not doctor shop in florida, it is not the wild west it used to be. nor can people just hop on a plane and come down here to hit 3 doctors and go home with thousands of pills. my post had nothing to do with you chuckee.

i am not trying to put down anyone in pain. i am in excruciating pain myself, in fact i am lucky to be alive right now. again, i was responding to ron, who thinks anyone can just go to florida and stock up on pain medications. (which is not the case) i don't care what the propaganda piece "the oxycontin express" says or shows. this was one clinic that was not following the Rules and will be busted if it already hasn't.

FDLE and DEA will rape people. There are maaaany new agents trying to make that career case, and for the past few years DEA pumps fresh blood right into Florida. You should stay as far away from Florida as humanly possible, they arrest patients too, just read a little.

i have posted many links to news stories and newspaper articles over the years where people with legitimate prescriptions were arrested and thrown in jail. one guy got 40 years and got out after 4 with an appeal. 4 years in a jail cell for a legal prescription, would have done the 40 if he would not have found the right attorney.

anyone want to chance that for a months worth of medication? i am legit and i worry every time i go to my doc. not a good feeling.

First, c'mon people, let's try not to get into personal attacks.

Second, I was in S. Florida not long ago, and I was in between doctors (changing jobs and moving) and I thought perhaps it would be easy to get a new script for my hydrocodone for my back while I'm here. My new town is small, and I've had experience with some doctors in small towns treating PM meds as if you were trying to get heroin.

I was unable to find one of these "easy pills" clinics. I found one through an online advertisement, but they asked for my drivers license and when they saw I was out of state, refused to see me.

I'm sure they are down there, but I suspect today not as easy to find as they may have been even a year ago.

FWIW.

If you look at the video you will notice that the journalist with all the hidden cameras and inside information was not able to get her expert informant with an MRI to get any pills from any pain clinic either... but since they already had a name, "The Oxycontin Express" for the documentary they had to buy some from an "old lady"... but there is no video of that...

LOL! Yeah, I am a writer, and know a lot of people in the media. It is interesting how you can get an assignment and then the editors press you to make sure the article matches the preconceived ideas they had for the piece.

Despite the absence of any of these facts in the documentary, RonAllen was able to ferret out the truth suggested by the headline and thus provide his usual level of astute opinion based on his interpretation of the reality.
As a result of his imagination and intuition, he has possibly given the readers of this discussion board a no-brainer way to avoid all of the pitfalls and headaches of searching for prescription medications on the Internet.
Who knew how easy this all was? Just drop the Internet and hop a plane to Florida.

I just have to put my newie two cents in here....LOL.

Just some thoughts here about some of the posts.
1. Pain is what the patient says it is. Not giving adequate pain relief is inhumane, I would not let a snake (and I hate snakes) lay on the ground and suffer in pain!
2. You do not have to have cancer to have pain, in fact, some cancers do not cause pain that requires medication. There are conditions out there that cause pain that is worse than any cancer and the worst part is that it doesn't go away with a cure or death.
3. You can not put a number to the amount of pills that a person needs and automatically say "that person is an addict". This is an individual decision that should be made between a doc and their patient based on that unique situation/history.
4. The government needs to realize that THEY have created the situation in FL by forcing the hand of CP patients in the first place. Take away the demand and the selling of the drugs will not be a profit to people and they will move onto something else to do. (do I live in a rose-colored world?)
5. I think it is a shame that I have to consider flying to another state to receive some treatment when I have a hard time stepping into my shower....WHAT GIVES???

I just finished watching all of that video.....I cannot believe how they are putting the blame on the docs and pharmacy for what drug addicts are doing. That is nuts. There wasn't any talk of ligit pain in that story.

That is what gets me. There is NEVER any discussion of legitimate pain in ANY of these stories. I understand maybe if it is a short clip, but even the talk shows don't bother.

You would think the reason the drugs were created would deserve a mention in the intro of these shows.

I don't know of anyone who tries to get drugs from a doctor to get high. I think some people just have legitimate pain that has to be addressed.

I don't even need to look at it in my local news. I hear stories every time I see my PMP Doc. The people that go to these Doctors looking to get high has made it much worse on those of us that need pain relief. Mt Doc calls them "Criminals". LOL

My former brother-inlaw drove a truck for a national drugstore chain, with their logo on it.
He was always afraid of being highjacked but said he never delivered any controlled drugs.
He said they were delivered in an unmarked, plain white van that no one would look at twice.

i watched this documentary and thought it was pretty sad. that family has been totally destroyed. they also did a great job of presenting a biased one side of the pain med info, no mentioning legit patients who have needs.

gotta love the gov't... cut off someone's legs then throw them in jail for using a wheelchair.
