I am a newbie. I had an L5-S1 fusion that did not go well back in June. I am having a tremendous amount of pain from it. The pain medication, oxycontin 20mg and Percocet5 helped but only for 30 minutes. The doctor will not prescribe me anymore. I don't have time to switch to another doctor, however, if I could get another batch of Percocet 10's that would be wonderful. But I am not sure how to go about it.

I am hearing from others about these pharmacies that will sell you them but they require a resident doctor. Can someone help me with that?

Please help. I have to quit going to the ER.

Thank you.

Ever been to Florida? They are littered with pain clinics with docs that will be more than willing to help you with pain management. They do require a copy of your MRI and you will probably be set. Florida does not currently have a dispense monitoring system so these clinicians are more liberal with writing pain scripts...

Speaking of oxycontin do you or anyone know of any methods for determining the legitimacy (is that a word?) of a product received? a friend of mine obtained some oc 80s but i have seen many posts about fake variants of oc floating around some looking completely identical but containing fentanyl instead of oxycodone as the active ingredient. thoughts advice experiences anyone?

I have been to Florida and I hear about all of them pain clinics. Unfortunately, I am here in Ohio. The doctors I am working with here are very strict.

Do you know of a doctor in Florida I could get a hold of?

i mean i have talked via e-mail for medical advice and asked basic questions about medications and such but it is usually pretty clear that you have to have an actual physical exam, or physically meet with the physician. they arent just going to take your word for it or believe something you mail/fax is yours and send u meds, unless they are are core rebels desperate for money....

you can check out the BI sites and info but use at your own risk***

Keep us updated on the acupuncture. I hate needles, but I am curious to see if something like that could be really useful.

I've never had it done before. Is it terribly painful? I don't understand how it works.

It didn't hurt me at all. I had about 15 sessions. The needles are very small.

It was very effective resolving a new head pain I was having. Not so much with my older aches and pains.

Thanks for the information. I hate needles, but I've heard so many good things I have to start looking into acupuncture.

oh man, if you must use AOL as an ISP, at least after you log-in minimize the AOL window and use Internet Explorer, or better yet, Firefox.

Hey All, I just tried it and it works but you do have to scroll up to my original post. I even checked both of the links in the post and they are both still good ! If you still have problems just google: Spinal Decompression Therapy .

I sure wish someone made a table that helped agonizing head pain... wait they did make one years ago.. I think it was called a Guillotine,,, Ha! Well, it definitely cured the pain!! Some times when i am going thru a CA & PH & RLS & IBS that lasts for 3 14 days ... a Guillo has looked OK!! Pain is a .. gotta get thru one more d@mn day kinda thing ain't it?!

Here is my original post w/links hope it helps :

Hello,
~I just had to let you back pain sufferers know about something that I discovered while researching back pain several years ago for some friends. This method alleviates pain in 70%-80% of the people who try it and even allows healing of the discs! Its called Spinal Decompression or Distraction. I will give a couple of URL's so you can check it out for yourselves! I am not a Chiro or trying to sell anything. I am just a person who suffers from chronic pain as many of you do but mine is caused by a damaged(in a terrible car wreck) trigeminal nerve in my head! It causes excrutiating headaches that can last for hours or weeks! I have spent a fortune on Drs and none of them have any balls when it comes to pain relief. If you don't have a gash across your face or stuff oozing from your body,, they just think you are "drug seeking"! I have even had friends that died in agonizing cancerous pain while their Drs were more worried a out them becoming addicted to narcotics. Most people who can prove their backs are damaged can usually get decent pain meds but not always. If you can call what is sold in USA decent with all the APAP or other stuff put in it. Who wants to be dependent on opiates though if they don't have to! I know I don't but, so far the only cure for my problem is to have dangerous surgery to kill the nerve and there are no guarantees I won't come out with a numb face, no muscle control on facial muscles or even worse! If there were a non-surgical method you can better bet I would be doing it! I am tired of the opiate roller coaster so I refuse to take anything stronger than codeine. It is getting very hard to come by though! If not for this website here I would never have found some really good sources and info over the years! You really should check out this spinal decompression if you or someone you know suffers from back pain. I once injured my upper back when I was young and could get no relief except with drugs until someone suggested I got to a Sports Med Dr. Damn if she didn't have me fixed in about two weeks and without drugs!! I have several friends with lower back injuries and blown out discs and their lives have been changed by this decompression therapy! Its actually been around for 40 years but the technology/computers has just recently made it truly perfected and a success!
First go read about it on this site:

http://www.cure-back-pain.org/spinal-decompression.html

Then check out the equipment used:

http://www.naturalartschiropractic.com/custom_content/31439_traction__flexiondistraction.html

Those are just random sites I found thru Google .
You have to find a Dr that has one of those tables and it only seems to be Chiropractics that do this, I could be wrong about that though. I personally will never go to a Chiro because I think most of their stuff(not all) is quackery and thats just my opinion. I have had friends who were worse off after having their spine manipulated by a Chiro! Its kind of a [censored] shoot just like most medical procedures. Thats why its called "practicing medicine" by the Dr crowd. They are always practicing(on us) hoping they get it right! But this technology has logic and proven success behind it and best of all,,, NO Surgery, NO Drugs & NO Danger!!! Even if you don't go to those links I gave, you should Google Spinal Decompression and research it for yourselves and then tell anybody you know that has back pain to check it out! Your regular Dr probably doesn't even know about this technique or won't tell cause it might cut into his take home pay if there is a cure out there for back pain suffering! If anybody ever finds out someone has invented a table/therapy that can cure my head pain or Trigem nerve,(not a guillotine either), please tell me about it! I posted this in several places in hopes more will find it!! Hope this helps!

Good Luck All! WEB

There might be some osteopathic doctors that have this. I read an article on this about a year ago. Not really taking off but it might take longer before more docs will try this.
