I am trying to find out if a signature will be required with a UPS Next Day Air or Next Day Air Saver package. UPS online says that a signature is generally NOT required for a residential delivery, but when I called UPS they said that a signature generally IS required. I just need to know whether or not I should be home for this delivery. Anyone have any experience?
Thanks in advance to anyone responding, I tried to search the threads but didn't come up with anything concrete.
It varies. It's supposed to be the person shipping the package that chooses, but UPS can opt to require it if they think the neighborhood is risky. You can also leave a note on your door asking UPS to leave the package on the back porch or whatever. There are actually 3 ways signature is handled. No signature required, indirect signature accepted (a note) and direct, adult signature. Most of the time meds are sent with direct adult signature required. In my location if I miss them, I can call them and go pick it up at the center after the driver gets back at the end off the day. It has nothing to do with Next Day or Next Day Saver, though.
