In Canada, low dose codeine products can be sold OTC if they have at least 3 ingredients. Therefore, Tylenol 1 has 8mg codeine, 300mg of Tylenol and 15 mg of caffeine. I've only heard about Tylenol 2 here, don't know the stats. Tylenol 3 has 30mg of codeine and usually 500mg of Tylenol Tylenol 4 has 60mg of codeine and I suppose around 500mg of Tylenol. They'll work well for some people provided they haven't become accustomed to stronger pain medication (the hydro family, etc). The Tylenol 1 will have a person who doesn't regularly use hydro or stronger medicine bouncing off the walls. For a regular hydro user, they provide an hour's worth of mild pain relief at best. The stronger variants provide sufficiently stronger relief but don't compare to hydrocodone based medications. At least that's been my experience and the experience of those I'm acquainted with. Tylenol 3 or 4 almost does the job when I take a hydro break. You can check out this Canadian site for more info. AFAIK, as I know they're reliable though I usually carry mine across the US/Canada border. You can go into most drugstores and buy T1's or 222's (which are the aspirin based equivalent of T1s. Some say you can buy T2 in Canada though I've never seen it myself. Tylenol 3 or 4 are NOT available OTC in Canada, but appear to be in other less narcophobic countries. In my experience, Tylenol 3 appears to be the favorite post-op medication given by most US doctors unless you protest for better. Perhaps it has something to do with my looks though

Depends on what you are looking for.
There are the T1's as have been mentioned.
Then there are cough syrup's that have codeine in it, again you have to ask for it, but just say you've used it before 'n they'll hand it over.
They also sell several muscle relaxers over the counter that may not be available in the States.
Then there are P.ephedrine 60mg's in counts of 50 or 100. (dirt cheap)...
uhm... different things, just depends on what you are needing or wanting. The best thing might be to go to a wally world near the border on Canadian side and browse through the meds that are on the shelves (won't get noticed as much there), or a larger pharmacy.
Pure Oxy's are definately VERY controlled. I'm on a lot of them 'n the garbage my doctor gets for prescribing them in the amount I get is rediculous.
How ever if you have records with you stating that you're in a lot of pain and go to a decent small privately owned clinic (fairly cheap to see someone, would probably be between 20-60 dollars CDN), say you're on vacation and you've ran out of your meds, many of them DO prescribe Percocet's or the generic endocet.
You would have to have something with you tho to support your claim and be careful how you worded things.
I've seen percocet's prescribed for some of the most stupid things in clinic's/E.R.'s in Ontario, even though they normally are very strict 'n so forth.
'N of course I am only suggesting this if you are in pain 'n not wanting to just get high
