My doctor gave me some of these this past summer for some really bad head-aches I was having. They didn't seem to do much of anything for my headaches so I stopped using them.
This won't do too much unless you have virtually no tolerance. It likely has 30 mg codeine as the narcotic. They are OK for a mild headache but that's about it.

Butalbital is a barbiturate; some barbiturates and meprobamate have occasionally been used in the UK for migraines and tension headaches that won't respond to more conventional treatment. The use of barbiturates in the UK for anything other than seizure control is virtually zero now.

actually this persons doesn't contain codeine, at least the poster didn't mention it.
fioricet is the brand name, I think with codeine is fioricet plus or something.
as far as I know they are prescribed for migraine headaches. as the poster above me said butalbital is sometimes used to treat migraines, and caffeine helps with migraines aswell. my mother had these when I was a little younger and thats what the bottle said.

I believe it just depends on the individual. Fiorinal is about the only med that helps with my migraines. It is the same as Fioricet, but contains aspirin which works better for me. Really bad I will take one with Codeine if needed. My Dr scripts this to me on a regular basis. I have tried Vic's and other higher scheduled meds, but they just make my headache worse and even when I take a Vic for pain say dental, I get a headache from it.
I wish I could use Imitrex or some of the newer meds, but my general medical condition and side effects make it so I can't.

New member at this forum. Just was doing a search for Fiornal with codeine as I want to purchase some on line and would really appreciate any supplier (w/o Rx needed) that you have used & would recommend. I don't need any 'consultation' with a fee associated with it, but I think the only suppliers I found on line require a 'consultation fee' ($119/$169! Ouch!).
Fiornal w/codeine is the only item that works for me. Like a few of you, I have tried stronger meds but they only result in worse migraine/tension headaches. I've tried Imitrex, Axert, Percocet, and they only make my migraines more intense, don't know why. They say Fiornal users experience rebound headaches, but I have not experienced this, at least not yet.
Any online supplier recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Young, I can only tell you my experience trying to find Fiorinal with Codeine. It had been zip after much searching and research as well, and that was only about 6 months ago when I was changing PCP's and did not know if I would get the same meds after I moved. I was fortunate as I was kept on all my same scripts.
All I ever found was fioricet and that is because for some reason fiorinal (at least in my state) is scheduled higher. Why I have no friggin idea as the difference between the two is aspirin vs tylonel.
Good luck in trying to find it. I hope you do find a source.

U can get fioricet sans codeine from a place called onlineprescriptionservice.com there are no consult fees etc and they fed ex next day 90 cost about 65 bucks plus the 23 dollar next day shipping fee but it's fast and I've never had a problem with them .... They don't have the codeine though .... I'm trying to find that myself for the same thing migranes be damned!
