How come when I try to send PMs all of a sudden it says private messaging is disabled? Just started yesterday.. A bit irritating because others are still able to PM me and are probably wondering why I'm not replying.

Am I being slapped on the wrist for something or is this some sort of bug?

Have you ever sent a PM, or just received? Usually you have to have a certain number of posts before you are allowed to actually create a PM of your own. You can answer PMs that other people have sent, but you can't start your own. I don't remember where the cut off is - 50 posts? 100 posts?

Anyway, be patient. You'll get there soon. Just don't abuse the privilege because Admin does yank PM privileges for people who abuse it.

I sent quite a few in the past few days because I made a friend on here. Then suddenly it was turned off.

Unless there's a limit on how many you can send in an X-hour period.

Can anyone help me with this problem?... Can't even PM the Admin to ask!

Due to the many people with no posts using our PM system to Spam we had to return to our old policy.
You will not be able to send PM's till you make 25 post and the posts can not be nonsense...

If you have 25 posts or more and you have not posted for a while or since the change... you will not be able to PM till you make a post... that is when our system will ad you to the group that can use PM's...

I posted earlier asking why I was able to PM yesterday and suddenly can't. It appears that thread was deleted?

Admin, I've been a member for almost 2 years, even if I don't flap my mouth a lot posting. Could you please do me the respect of PMing me or something explaining why my PM priveleges have apparently been taken?

I'm guessing it's because I made the mistake of PMing one of these thousand+ post people to ask a legitimate question (who turned out to be a jerk) and he complained because... Well, who knows why... And of course since I don't post much I can't be trusted.

But perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions...

I have to say I am confused too. I have 90 posts (now 91, I suppose) but when I tried to PM today it said private messaging disabled. I'm sad and confused!

Never mind, it looks like I just couldn't PM a particular person because his/her message box is full. Still sad, but not confused .

Smurzy, if you have important information about a BI company, go to the BI section and look for someone who is a long timer with many posts who is keeping track of who is and who isn't a scammer. Ask that person to PM you if the information you have is pertinent to one of the groups. That information will be put out on the BI section (there are several people trying to keep track of and keep ahead of the scammers on the BI section).

Otherwise, you have to wait until you get 25 posts so that you can PM that person and tell them what's going on. They can then tell the group if you've been taken by someone and who that someone was. The rule was 25 posts for a long time, to prevent a scammer from coming on here, making one post and then trying to scam other members through the PM section. I don't know when it was changed and I guess I missed the post where you didn't need 25 posts to PM anymore.

I think it's best for the whole group that someone is here for a little while, has posts pertinent to whatever thread they are responding to and has shown they aren't a scammer before they can PM. It's not foolproof as we've seen before, but it's the best Admin can do to try to weed out scammers who come here only to try to sell their medicines or try to dupe the group into thinking some outfit is really good

So if you are desperate to out a scammer in the BI section, contact Admin or leave a post under that BI group's thread and have a long timer talk with you about your situation. Admin will not make exceptions, nor should he, as members should prove themselves first before engaging in PM's or participating in the BI section.

aha I c why now and that's bit ridiculous don't you think? There are some places where people like me that don't post often can't say anything so we pm longtime board members. I said it before I don't like to post on here because they're way to many people that give out far to much of their own and other peers information. I do however love that I can come here and you guys have been helpful with all the information you've provided on my surgery.

Most of us wouldn't have found this site if it hadn't been for pain issues and questions. You get better answers here than from your own doctor.

As far as the notification of PM's of 25. Admin has chimed in on some thread saying what the Rules are now. For a while, I was copying and pasted it due to the many thread for the same question. LOL

That is what I like about this site. You will find many that are in the same shoes as you are and can help.
