People who live to a ripe old age usually have ancestors who have done the same, it also depends on whether you have stuck to a good wholesome diet that gives your body all the vitamins and minerals it needs to repair it self. The other thing is to remain active after retirement, get involved in voluntary groups that get you out of the house most days of the week, keep up your exercise by walking or cycling, use puzzles to keep your brain working. All these things will make you live longer.

However many people eat fast foods these days, take little exercise and spend their time when not at work either in front of the TV or their computer.

If you want to live a long life treat your body as a temple and only eat pure things.

That's good advice. Unfortunately though, it seems to be getting more and more difficult to find "pure" things...

Environmental toxins in the air and water can undermine even the most well-balanced nutritious diet.

For example, we are only beginning to see the cumulative effects of how the degradation of manmade materials such as plastics (in which many 'pure' food products are packaged) is affecting human health.

There are many factors that can help to extend human life. A good starting point to learn is to read the information on Life Extension Foundation's website and possibly join to receive their monthly magazine. The information they provide is pretty interesting.

Their website is www.LEF.org

Another website that has some pretty good information/articles is Gary Null's website. He also has a daily radio program, which is acrhived and can be listened to free of charge. I personally find the information that he provides to be pretty interesting, and is all free of charge - along with the archives of his radio show

His website is www.GaryNull.com

You're very welcome.

Life Extension Foundation makes very high quality supplements. I have been taking their multi vitamin 'Life Extension Mix' for years. It is a very heavy duty multi vitamin. What I like most about it is that it is constantly evolving. If LEF finds that a certain substance can be beneficial to extending human life, they will reformulate the vitamin to include it. Well worth the heavy price tag in my opinion.

They are pricey, but most of their earnings go directly back into the company for research and development. I am also a member and receive their magazine monthly. They have some very impressive articles written by some of the best experts in their particular field.

They also offer bloodwork, with the results reviewed and explained to you via telephone. They have a yearly special for $250 (I think) that screens for just about everything. They also offer individual tests. In most states you just take the Dr.s prescription that they provide to Lab Corp to have the draw done. In Ny they send you a draw kit, and it is up to you to find a phlebotomist to do the draw.

Gary Null also has alot of very good information. What I like about Gary Null is that he doesn't force feed information down your throat like some so called experts do. He puts articles up on his site, puts his own opinions/writings up on the site and lets you come to your own decision.

He also sells a line of supplements - how good they are I am not sure of. However I occasionally eat hie Fruit and Fiber Bars - very tasty.

His radio show is also very interesting with some very interesting health information. Sometimes he gets into politics (I tune out when he does, as our political views don't match). But he does take phone calls, and from what I understand he will sometimes put you on the phone with a member of his staff who will send you out information on a specific condition free of charge.
