I am going to assume you mean Tylenol 3? If so, I don't think T3 will do anything to ehance your workout, boost results, etc. If anything, it'll make you feel sluggish due to the sedating effect of the codeine.

Just my 2 cents!

I was thinking you mean T-3 as in thyroid supplements?

If so - here's a thought. Taking Synthroid, Armour or just T3 will suppress your natural thyroid levels across the board. If you are young, it should be a fairly immediate and reversible thing - but the net gain is almost nothing.

Taking too much thyroid supplements for too long will cause your thyroid gland to atrophy - which means that when you take the supplements away, you'll gain weight like crazy (not to mention the sluggishness, constipation, hair loss, bad skin... wahoo, right?!)

And please don't get me wrong... I'm a registered nurse who has TRIED to overtake thyroid meds years ago - and in huge amounts. It did nothing. But now that I'm older, it's even harder to regulate my thyroid levels (which I attribute to 'abusing' the thyroid replacement.

Most of all though, no one that I know has ever lost any real weight doing this - your endocrine system is just smarter than that. frown

I would think that cutting carbs, huge amounts of water - things like that will boost your workout the best. (I mean, unless you can get ADHD or diet pills - my personal opinion is that those kick [censored].) laugh

Best of luck.

(PS - this is just my experience and opinion!)

When I was on T3 only, it caused serious heart palpatations after a short period of time. My doc told me it can be hard on the heart (so I don't understand why she Rx'd it).

Have you tried natural supplements? Chromium helps to supress cravings and is also supposed to help build muscle.

The bottom line is there is no easy fix when it comes to weight loss. Extreme diets do more harm than good and the weight seldom stays off. (been there-done that).

Your best bet would be to cut out all simple carbs, cut down on complex carbs and eat lean protein and a little "healthy" fat (olive oil, avocado, almonds). Increase your physical activity and you should see good results.

BTW-by T3 I did mean the thyroid medicine, whoever was asking about my age, I'm 36 and this is the first time in my life I have had a weight problem. I have tried, healthe trim, metabolife, and a few other herbal appetite suppressants and they just don't do much, I'm still hungry all the time. I guess what I need to do is see a bariatric doctor(sp?) which is also expensive but probably not more so than buying the drugs online. I am working out 5 times a week and am seeing results in strength and endurance but not weightloss. Part of the problem is I know how to do cario, who doesn't, but I really don't know how to strength train and can't afford a personal trainer. Any ideas?

Hey Wendolyn,

**This is me with red cheeks** I misunderstood your T3 to mean Tylenol #3 -- sheesh, sorry!

As far as strength training goes? I have done pilates for a few months and have noticed a huge difference in my overall strength. Any kind of "core" workout is effective. If you don't have access to Pilates, you can just use those big blow up yoga balls and do crunches, leg lifts, etc...

I am a runner and often do 60 mins + of cardio a day but even then, it doesn't target all the areas that need "help". I feel like core strengthening definitely addresses those areas.

Hope this helps!
