as you know it is so hard to get a script from a dr that is not an a.d..i have had to beg more then once to get a script for xanax because it is the only thing that helps me..i got tired of begging and that is why i order on line..i do not abuse it ..i do take .05 ml once a day..usually at night and it has worked for me for a long time at this dose..all i can say is to be honest with your dr and if that doesnt work maybe then try other avenues..i do know how you feel though..been there ..good luck to you..

My doctor prescribed me Cipralex for anxiety and it gave me terrible headaches so I couldn't take it. I'm now on Amitriptyline, but I'm not sure if it really helps. However, as long as I take the Amitriptyline my doctor is happy to prescribe me Diazepam and Zolpidem on 'as needed' basis. My advice would be to tell your doctor that you're taking the Cipralex but you feel you need something additional like Klonopin for when your anxiety is really bad. Say you had it a couple of times in the past and it really helped. I think most doctors don't mind prescribing these sorts of drugs so long as you're taking an anti-depressent as well because that is what their medical text books say you should be taking!

Angel, Buspar is an anti anxiety agent known as an anxiolytic. It is not a benzo like diazapam, clonazapam, alprazolam, ect. So it is supposed to not be as habit forming. Im not sure though, Im on a small dose right now, but it seems to help a little.

Have you taken Cipralex or Lexapro before? If not, how would you know that it "wouldn't be good?"
On the other hand, if you had taken it before, it would have been entirely appropriate to tell your doctor about your history with the drug and then discussed possible alternatives.
Is your interest in taking Klonopin based on successful past use of this medication? From my personal experience, the best way to tell a physician that a drug is not working is to take it for the recommended period of time (I believe 5-6 months for Lexapro) and then report your experience.
Asking for a benzo by name at this point in your treatment is usually not the best strategy.

thats what i had in mind. i didnt think cipralex would be good because my mom and sister had both used it unsuccessfully and i dont have any depression.

its only been a few days but the cipralex is making me feel like [censored] and giving me very bad headaches. and ive also been having more problems sleeping at night. the doctor said he would see me in 2 weeks but he said i could see him sooner if im having any problems, so im thinking ill move my appt up a bit. i think i didnt stress enough the sleep problems, maybe if i mention it and it gettin worse he will suggest a benzo.

May I ask why you feel so strongly that a benzodiazepine like Klonopin is the best medication to treat your current symptoms?
There are other drugs available that are much more appropriate for treatment involving sleep problems.
And benzos are not the only possibility for anxiety, especially if used for an extended period of time.
