A friendly rules reminder: The main rule is to be nice and polite to all. Say what you have to say but say it in a polite non offensive way. Do not flame, harass, bash, abuse, or make threats to any person, any company, or any group. Content that is unlawful, obscene, mischievous, vulgar, profane, sexually oriented, racially or religiously discriminating, or otherwise objectionable is not permitted, even if masked.
Thank you for that feedback. I guess the ammonia smell should rule out adhesives, magic markers, cigarette smoke, cocaine, human body odors and room deodorizers. I'll leave it to the more educated chemists who contribute to this discussion board to opine on whether carisoprodol can degrade partially into hydrazine or another related cation compound. If any of this degradation were to occur, it would be extremely foolish and potentially life-threatening for anyone to ingest. Did these smelly pills come to you unmarked in a baggie?
The method of packaging could very well have an impact on any degradation of the medicine that was sent. Outside container material, type of baggie, whether the interior package was wrapped in foil could all affect the temperature that surrounded the pills in transit. Wouldn't it be helpful and informative for people to know how the drugs were protected that they are buying from a foreign country? It sounds murky enough as it is from a personal health standpoint. The more information you can get, the better you can assess the risks you are taking by playing this game.

well i did order again but my last batch did not smell like ammonia just strong glue. no baggies and i don't want to get into the method of packing but they had to use a fair amount of glue and after i let them air out the smell went away. i will say this, the smell was a glue/acetone type combo. i just chocked it up to cheap strong glue. any way almost 200 pills later and i still fill as $hitty as i always do. not dead though-still here.
FWIW as aspirin degrades it smells like vinger. Kava right out of a fresh bottle reminds me of well used gym socks and the odor is sticky, from bottle to my hand....ugh Yes handwashing helps! Most drugs lose potency over time, a few under go chemical changes that may render them benign or toxic. But FEW become toxic. If I took a med and had never detected ammonia over months of use, I surely would consult a pharmacist about the noted odor. Sometimes you need to try 2 or 3 RPs and if none could explain the process I'd throw the med in the trash.
Some antibiotics (Keflex comes to mind.) are fairly odiferous. But then the infections they treat may smell putrid.
