Y'all are being nicer than me. IF a patient is fortunate enough to be prescribed - managing the meds is essential. That may mean some days are more painful than others.
After a time (and not a short amount of time) - a dose increase may be in order. Believe me, you cannot just waltz in, say my script ran out, and expect a good result.
Kris, I do not want you to feel bad. BUT, it is up to you to manage these meds. If you read, you will discover that you are fortunate to receive any meds at all.
Going in asking for more will guarantee that you get cut off altogether. Such is the current state of pain management.
Celtic music is on. Makes one forget about pain (somewhat) for a little while.
There are NO legal means to obtain Oxys online. Any sites that offer them are suspect. Think no meds or fake meds - and you will pay a premium for the prvilege.
If I've already said all this, please forgive. I am a "bit" challenged. LOL.
Yes, indeed, you can be cut off. Opiate withdrawals are awful, but they are not lethal. Even when I had my entire script stolen, I did not ask for more.
I hope that you can hang tough. That's what it requires sometimes.

Hey, i stumbled across this page looking to order oxycodone 10mg. My RX ran out and the dr says he's given me enough.. wtf! my back is still killing me? Can he actually tell me no like that? w/e how can i order from online?
kris IF your pain isn't being managed adequately by your doctor, and you ran out due to increased activity, or increased pain levels, your doc needs to know that. Or if it's just an anomaly and you over took your meds this month, then bite the bullet and don't worry about and ration your meds more wisely in the future. My DH is now prescribed oxyc, and he runs through a month script in 12-13 days. Then he dips into mine without asking or even telling me. It's infuriating. He eats them like skittles. I'm so sick and tired of it. He's addicted with pain issues. And his doctor doesn't have a clue, and doesn't seem to keep track of the days or the date he writes the scripts.. he isn't a PM doc per se. He has rec'd I think 3 scripts in about 45 days. Then just yesterday the doc bumped up the amount, by 50 percent. I warned my DH that he cannot eat them like candy, that I was doing just fine until his pain issues cropped up... Sorry to hijack this, but what I'm saying is you have to ration your intake, take as prescribed or discuss with your doctor. You don't want to run into this problem every month. If you are on long acting meds, you may be on them for years. I've been on oxyc for 6 years and never a problem until this last year.. and oh did I mention even with all the scripts that my DH is getting, that he STILL is getting into my oxyc???

And you still don't hide them?
No offense, but I think we all know the person who is all "my fill-in-the-blank is killing me, I can't even move...can you spare me something?". You usually find this type of person in a bar, where he will stop by just long enough to get a beer or a drink, then off to the next bar to hit up on someone else he knows who has a scrip. Maybe, after a few days, they end up at the emergency room, begging, begging, begging...
This person usually is already getting more than you can believe. A bottle of this, a bottle of that, another bottle for "break through" pain.
He/she eats everything in a couple of weeks, then spends the rest of the time begging. Trying to make deals "oh please! I'll give you back double when I get mine!".
Again, sorry, if I am being harsh, but this kind of person makes me ill. They KNOW how many they are getting, it is right on the bottle. The KNOW how long until they can get more. This is also right on the bottle. And people who make excuses for these folks are just enabling their behavior.
If you think I am being unfair and mean, then try locking your s*** up, and see how long before you start getting threatened.
And, no, I am not saying that these folks don't have legitimate pain. Otherwise they wouldn't be getting this stuff in the first place. But they always seem to think that THEIR pain is the worst, and they are somehow justified in stealing, begging, abusing.

I hide them.. addiction is strange thing. It's hard for you to say.. I hate hearing him retch when they are locked up..
I know.. my DH is awaiting a liver transplant.. and I get mine for the brain/neck surgery with fusion from the skull to c5, and that's why he gets a lot. He is having a pity party, and besides the comments about I'll pay you back s+*T, you have it pretty well nailed. I do lock them up, BUT, we travel a lot and I don't have a safe for when I travel, they haven't figured that one out yet. When they do, I'll be one of the first to buy one. Trust me on that.
Good thing I don't go to bars.. no one hits me up for pills, just a dh that takes them..
OH, and get this, when I travel, I sleep with them. However, you have to be careful with that as well, because if I lost them, I would be SOL

I had a serious accident and my back pain was pretty much making me a cripple. Impacted my ability to work (and I'm a manager, not someone doing heavy lifting.) But my doctor was extremely paranoid about prescribing strong pain meds. And it doesn't help that I'm pretty "immune" to pain drugs - it takes a lot to have an effect on me. I wanted to go to another doctor, but you have to be careful about "doc shopping" or whatever they call it. So I asked my doctor for a referral to a severe back pain specialist. I was just very up front with him. I told him that hydrocodone and oxy just didn't have a huge impact other than some lowering of the pain level, told him I was aware that he probably had people trying to get prescriptions, etc. and told him I just needed to be able to reduce the pain to the point that I could function at work. Told him I would be willing to take drug tests for amounts in my system, he could prescribe them in small amounts at a time to ensure I wasn't over-using, come to him on a regular basis, whatever. I told him "You know, as i say all this I think I sound like a desperate druggy - I'm not, so I just have to trust your professional experience in dealing with people like me in this kind of pain to help me." He appreciated the up front approach and was great about giving me the meds I needed (oxy and later hydro) to manage the pain. He also said that he felt a lot of GP docs were just overly concerned about these meds - for him, as long as he was monitoring my progress, etc. he was cool. Short version - sometimes a specialist in painful conditions aren't as stingy/worried.
