Well guys, Just thought I would let you know that I emailed this service about 3 weeks or so ago...asking some questions and never got any response.

I think over 3 weeks is too long to wait on an email reply.

Just sharing the little I know!

I posted this in the Open Discussion Forum...but I will post in here as well.

I contacted Allied Medical last week and they were very quick to get back to me. I faxed my records to Allied and I made an appt for a F2F with their doctor in PA and I went to her today.

The appointment was on-time and the doctor was very understanding. She understood that I know my body and what works best for my pain; she did not try to change my meds or make me feel uncomfortable.

She wrote my script and even suggested where I could fill it locally.

Thanks so much to Allied...you've just made a long-term customer!

Has anyone asked for a direct script, paid for the consult, then received a fedex with the meds and charged again for the consult plus meds? Scared.

Hello Gizmo,

Unfortunatly we do not have a physician in Tx currently. We are speaking with a couple different physicians there and hope to have one for you soon.

Due to the RHA we are Allied Medical Service, Inc.

Hello Dawgfan,

Please send a PM with your name and DOB so we can check into your situation. We will check into your account and make sure there has not been a billing error. If there has been, please be assured we will make sure you are credited. If you have the Direct Pharmacy Service option chosen on your account and you did not discuss anything different with the physician, then they will automatically send the script to the pharmacy. The pricing for medications through the pharmacy never includes the cost of a consultation, because all exams and consultations are paid for up front.

When calling or emailing us, please be sure you are using the contact information listed below.

Thank You,

Hi folks, I had my first appt. with a Dr. affliated with AlliedMedicalService.com this afternoon. Things went pretty well. I had scheduled and paid for a morning appt. but as I was getting ready to leave my home the Dr. called and asked to reschedule it for the afternoon. I did change it but wasn't too happy about it as I had switched my work schedule to work in the afternoon and now would have to miss a whole day of work. There is no Dr. in my state so I was travelling to a neighboring state to see the Dr. Anyway, the Dr. met me there and he was very nice. We sat and talked about my pain and how it all began and how it has been the last couple of years trying to deal with it. He was very understanding and listened to everything I said. He did my vitals and some other normal routine things that go on during a physical. The thing I really enjoyed was that he listened and offered advice and also told me about new meds. and new procedures that they are now offering for my situation. The only problem during my visit was he was interrupted many times while we were talking and at one time actually had to leave the room to attend to another patient. He apologized many times about this. I accepted his apology. I was given my script with 2 refills after we were done. I did not fill in that state as that state only allows so many meds. dispersed per month and I didn't want to loose 20 pills each month. I did go to my home state and filled it with out any problems. It was abit expensive ($88) to fill as I don't have any health insurance right now. All in all it was a good visit. If any one has any ??? just ask and I'll help you out if I can. Frankie.

Can you tell me if your Florida Dr. is in northern or southern Florida? It seems that all of these services forget that there is more to the state of Florida than the Orlando-Miami-Jacksonville area.

One thing I must mention here.
The service asked the above poster to pm them his (her?) name and date of birth.
Such a bad idea y'all.

If you ever have an issue and need to complain on this board about this company or the doctor, you are pretty much screwed.
They know now exactly who you are.

In the past, more wild days of ROP/NROP days- it was often used against the poster by the company.

Stay anonymous guys!

Allied's service is awesome. I felt like they were on their A game and answered all of my questions and concerns. I would definitely use them again...on the flip side the doctor in South Carolina is a total loon - and NOT in the funny crazy uncle way. If you want a lecture this is the guy. I had to wait two hours, but that seems to be because he talks too much. Anyway, thumbs up Allied, thumbs down Kingstree Clinic.

Hello Everyone,

Glad everything went well frank12, we apologize for the scheduling issue though. We do as much prep work as we can by sending confirmation emails and making confirmation calls, but sometimes there are still appointment conflicts and changes when dealing with doctors. Give us a call and we will make sure you receive a discount on your next appointment.

-------------------------------------------------------

We normally would not ask for anyone's information through this board, but dawgfan's situation was a special case and we wanted to insure that they had been taken care of. We found that their script was forwarded to the pharmacy and filled, before we were aware of the mistake. We simply had the shipper return the package to the pharmacy and dawgfan's prescription was forwarded directly to them. Please also know that Allied Medical Service, Inc. will never use anyone's identity against them and it will remain private at all times.

-------------------------------------------------------

Hey larrysills, thanks for the kind words. Yes, the doctor in Kingstree is a talker, but glad everything worked out.

Thank You,

Hello Ant214,

We apologize, but at this time the physicians we work with do not prescribe any medication above a schedule III. There are more stringent restrictions on how a schedule II like Oxycodone, is handled.

Yes, he does talk. However, I feel v-e-r-y lucky that we have this option here in beautiful SC. What he said about SC putting more docs in jail than all other states combined is true. Therefore, what he was talking ABOUT was absolutely necessary.

Had appointment with Allied F2F dr. last week in California. I showed for 2:00 appt and Dr's office was locked and neighbooring office said they went to lunch. Of course I started to panic and I waited for half hour and the office opened. I went in and they had no record of my appointment nor my medical records. They called and emailed Allied to no avail. Doctor still saw me and did his own diagnosis on my shoulder. Wrote prescription and offered to fill in his office. He was very polite and accomodating.

Allied responded with sincere apologies about the new F2F system. I believe them as I have always had good communication with Allied. I guess it'll take a while for this F2F to become a fluid system. By then, the feds will probably change it again!

I've been a member of this forum for years, and was saddened to read about about the legal changes (RHA) at first, upon further reflection perhaps it was time to rein in the wildwest mentality and availability of access to potent drugs.

I think face to face visits with doctors who care, listen, and apply their years of medical training are a great asset to those who lack access to that level and quality of care.

Thank you for filling a much needed niche.
Any chance of adding locations in the midwest? Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska? The positive feedback you're receiving gives me hope that your business model is legal and will survive.

My apologies that I can not offer feedback, but I hope my opinion still carries some respect. I don't post as often but when I see a good thing, AlliedMedicalService and your prompt customer service replies to patients I feel there is hope for many people just seeking relief, hope, and finally a compassionate doctor. May LE now let us/and the doctors be. doctorlove

Refills depend on Doctor and the State's laws. Unbelievebly, South Carolina does not allow refills on class III.

And what with Michael J. And Heath L. managing to have more money than brains, Docs are quite rightly worried, even though the diff between a couple of class III versus bottles of OC's mixed with Diazepam (why do folks even use these? Not that there is anything wrong with that...) is literally night and day...

Common sense is the first casualty...

It is also harder and harder to get a Doctor in SC to write anything more than Tramadol. If your lucky at the urgent care they might write for 15 hydro. I just hold onto them until i think my head will explode.I personally do not like Tramadol, but it is better than nothing I suppose when needed

My doctor has always written 2 refills (in SC). I have noticed some doctors will tell you it's against the law and some say it's not. I asked my pharmacist and they say SC actually will allow 5 refills on schedule III. And this is true, my Mom always got her pain medication with 5 refills. Sounds like SC laws are not clear or maybe in a gray area.

I can also see where a Doc would not write refills if they are assuming you won't come back for next two visits... And they would lose the fees.

Now, one more week and I call in for second fill. Will see how this goes. Initial visit was good.

Problem? Doc wants all prescriptions filled prior to seeing him faxed to his office. Problem? I was using PPC, and I have been unable to get them on the phone to get FAX number for medical release of prescriptions filled to Doc.

Was using PPC for a year after lost my job, and medical coverage. I did have a good pain Doc. But he kept doing spinal injections, wanted to burn nerves, then I moved to South Carolina. And you all know what it is like to walk in off the street, to see a Doc. They want to put you through the whole process again. Like I had the cash...

So, anyone have PPC's FAX number?

On the plus side, AMS F2F is less expensive than the old way. Walk out the door, Rx in hand, $67.00 at the pharm.

Hello AxelFoley,

We apologize for the confusion. When we bring new physicians into our service, sometimes it takes a couple appointments to get them comfortable with our system and familiar with how it works. Just give us a call when its time for you to complete a follow up consultation and we will make sure you receive a discount for the confusion.

Hello Maandmister,

Groucho_fan is right refills depend on the physician and or state laws. Most physicians though are not authorizing refills and requiring patients to complete follow up telephone consultations each month to insure that your condition is closely monitored on a regular basis. They do this to insure that both you and they are protected incase of any extra scrutiny from any government agencies. That is why we have made sure our pricing for F2F exams and Telephone consults are as low as possible to insure everyone’s costs are as close to pre-RHA levels as possible.

Thank You,

Hello Larrysills,

All records that are faxed in are usually processed and on your account within a few hours, unless they are faxed in over the weekend. If you are able to view the records on your account then the physician can see them too. If your records issue has not been resolved already please give us a call so we can sort it out.

Thank You,

I used direct script at target. I use the ps card(discount card). It costs me 21.00 for 90# 10/325. No questions asked

Hey Brighteyes,

Sorry for lagging with a response. I went to the office in Riverside and I live in Orange County. The drive wasn't that bad....and they don't give refills on the original script. They say call in to the dr. and they'll send you the medication or call it in for you. I just had my first refill request and it was a piece of cake.

Good Luck!

Great experience, except for the hours of driving from NY to PA... Can't believe an entire day of driving was my best option. But Allied was great, faxed records, got confirmation, got quick reply when trying to navigate site to get to payment part after scheduling an appt. The doc called me shortly after I scheduled, the website listed Saturday hours so I chose that but she said she was planning on trip over the weekend, I asked about Thurs which wasn't listed as an option - turns out she came in on her day off to meet me Thursday just to meet me, the office was empty. She was very nice and easy to talk to, warned that NY pharmacies might have to verify by phone to fill the script but I wanted to use my insurance so took back to NY, and sure enough first pharm I took Rx to wanted to wait for phone confirmation from doc but CVS took Rx no problem. Wrote for #90 but no refills without calling for reconsult $120. I couldn't figure out where to get the $40 discount code in so will follow up on getting that credited toward next call. Overall good as can be expected these days.

Wanted to share my experience - after reading the posts on this company they seemed like the best option. I have made several attempts in the last few days to contact via email and phone after faxing in my records but have been unable to get a response. Perhaps they are closed mid-week or are very busy?

Hello AngelikaJ,

Unfortunately at this time we do not have a physician available in Oregon. By completing a physical examination with one of our affiliated physicians, you are fulfilling the requirements of the RHA.

Hello Dawgfan,

We currently do not show any delays in shipping with the Direct Pharmacy Service. If you are waiting on a prescription from your consulting physician, we send shipping labels to all physicians who have telephone consultations scheduled for the next day in advance. So please give us a call if you are still waiting, because regardless of which option you have chosen there should be little to no wait.

Thank You,

What records need to be faxed, I work and live in Boston; is there a doctor available? Also I have a burst eardrum that I was in the ER last night and they prescribed me 12 tynenol-3. Neither works very well, I was wondering what my best bet is?

So anyway, anyone used the service successfully in past two weeks? In SC I mean specifically,

I would be interested in hearing if folks are getting responses from customer service, either phone or e-mail nationwide as well.

Hello AngelikaJ,

Unfortunately at this time we do not work with any physicians in Washington and Insurance is not accepted.

Hello Cjspoe,

The closest physician to you would be our physician in RI. He is approximately one hour and a half away from you. Your records need to be at least one page showing what your condition is and who previously treated you or you can fax in more including diagnostic testing. The minimum though is something showing what your condition is.

Hello Groucho_Fan,

Yes we are available; please let us know if we can be of assistance. You can contact us M-F 9-4 at the contact information listed below.

Good afternoon,

I have a question regarding the sched II/sched III meds reply here. If your records show that you were previously prescribed percocet (II) and that is not allowed, is it likely that the doctor will substitute w/hydrocodone (III) or something comparable? I ask because from what I read, the doctor will only prescribe what you can prove what you were previously prescribed and, in this case, he can't. Thanks very much for your help.

We apologize, but at this time the physicians we work with do not prescribe any medication above a schedule III. There are more stringent restrictions on how a schedule II like Oxycodone, is handled.

Thank You,

Hello Flossiemae,

Yes, your examining physician can prescribe a comparable medication. It does not have to be the same medication you have been using. The records you submit are used simply to inform the physician of your condition and to provide medical documentation that establishes a medical need for whatever prescription the physician may provide you.

Good question. It should be easy to claim the discount...
See http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/topics/892524/Discount_USA#Post892524
In principle you mention you are our member and present the discount code

Maybe the rep can answer this question and help you out with hte discount

For reps to participate and promote at out site it is required that they offer our members a REAL discount...

I emailed Allied today - they state that the discount is not for the initial F2F but for the refill or subsequent phone consultation; that is, IF you choose to use their direct mail pharmacy. I can see where this would be a good deal for those without insurance who choose to use that route. Personally, I would use my insurance at a local pharmacy and save the Fedex $ and cost of medication (unsure how much they charge for meds). Anyway, hope this helps. I also want to say that I emailed Allied several times today with numerous questions because I am about to do my 1st F2F and they were very prompt, courteous, and informative in their responses.

I understand the discount is ONLY when you get meds sent directly sent to you, and not DS or phone consult. So check into that part again.

I forgot to post my continued experince with AMS. I apologize, because they have been professional and caring.

I recommend them to anyone who is seeking a F2F consultation, who also has good records and is not simply seeking a prescription. If you are just trying to get over on the system, you will be weeded out.

I have found my Dr. to be thorough and thoughtful. He requires good documentation of your condition, as well as the willingness and ability to follow his directions.

As long as you are someone who needs to get medications due to a well documented condition, then AlliedMedicalService is a partner you can trust.

I have not requested any type of discount from AMS for my recommendation. And I am not going to.

TIFWIW.

Hello Everyone,

Yes the discount is applied to the cost of your medications when using the pharmacy our clients have access to. With the cost of medications being so high these days, we felt that would be the best option for our clients. Our consult and exam fees are already as low if not lower than other services.

Just be ready to do a lot of work. You have to call the docs, they don't call you, they forget. At least in some areas is what I heard. Then the doc don't read their emails, and don't have anything for you, phone numbers, etc. You might have to call the doc, so make sure you get the docs number for refills. I guess it's the way it is now. Like all things, getting the kinks out.

that defeats the whole purpose of paying the service to email them if you can do it yourself.

Hello Difficult,

We have a scheduling system that notifies each physician when they have scheduled appointments. If you do not receive your exam or consult on time, you can simply call our customer service number and we will contact the physician to let them know that you are waiting. We find out from the physician why there has been a delay and in turn we will contact you to let you know.

Thank You,
