Arock, You might do better by going to a psychiatrist on your own. They will understand your symptoms better than any internest. Treatment most always includes some kind of script or sometimes multiples. You have to explain your symptoms so he can diagnose you. They expect anxiety disorders patients need meds. I can't imagine going the F2F route on something that. And yes, pscychs want to know what works well for you, so you can tell him if you already know. Saves him from going through the 10 other meds he might think will work. Besides, you might have your problem long term. If you order via the web you will eventually run out. You don't wanna run out of benzos! ~ Where are you located (if you don't mind me asking?) In the west?

Hi Arock,
That's a shame, really. Yes, they do push anti-depressants but anti-depressents don't stop panic attacks and give your brain a rest.(well, sorry they might work for some people but I don't know any). I'm in the exact opposite location of where you are. If you're moving west I could recommend someone. But get that phone book out, that's what I did. It may take going to 4 psychs to find one who will help you. Don't let yourself feel it's hopeless!(the 1st one I went to needed help more than me, the 2nd had no waiting room you stood out in the hall until he came and got you, the 3rd one had thousands of books in his office you had to climb over to sit down, the 4th was the GOOD one. That was 12 years ago and I only have to see him 2x's a year, same med, same dosage of tranqs. It does cost for those maybe 4 comebacks (once every 2 weeks at first) but the doc will believe you are serious and in need of them if you explain in detail what you're going through in your life. A psych's gotta get to know who you are. Please keep TRYING, OK? ~

Arock - don't let anyone get to you - 'K? With the symptoms you describe, you don't need that. I'd love to give a specific referral. But, I have no experience with those meds. That's why I gave you "general" advice. Many on here DO have experience and I hope they chime in. Panic attacks must be just awful. I have read about them and some have said it feels like you are enduring a heart attack. Sometimes I think this is far worse than pain, tho pain is bad enough. If it were me - if all the local options had been exhausted - I'd go thru the threads on the different F2F services and either call or shoot them an email. Ask if they have a relatively local doc they are contracted with that treats panic attacks. And, I guess I'd be pretty specific in stating what meds work for you. See what they say. Hey, any patients in the Atlanta area that are being treated for panic attacks with Xanax? Help this poster out, if so. Would be much appreciated. Sorry I am not able to give you more. Wish I could.

Aw, Arock, I am SO sorry you have to deal with this. Life is difficult enough without having to endure such agonizing moments. I hope the F2F service refers you to an appropriate doctor. My belief, altho they work for some, is that SSRIs make panic attacks worse. Surely these docs know this. They (docs) take the easy road. My doc once put me on Lexapro. I took one and one only. I was nauseous and felt totally weird. It took over a week to clear my system of this awful drug. And, supposedly, Lexapro had the least "sides". My advice (for what it is worth) - don't EVER give up on seeking the treatment you need. Ever. IMHO you have a basic "right" to be free of your symptoms. i completely agree, it is everybody's right. i hated lexapro, it is terrible, well for me, they all are.. i had sides rom all the ssris i tried..

I certainly can understand, the chronic panic attack, allthough mine are few and far between, I find as I get older, they are getting worst. I was lucky to get an RX back in may for 20 ativan, and I make them last. The only thing I can suggest with the f2f and prescribing, it r eally is hit or miss, but I would begin calling all the ones listed here, and just ask. I think best route to go, asking never hurts. Wow, only 20 ativan? that wouldnt last me 3 weeks! im happy that you have made it this long! I have talked to a couple, its hard for them to say whether the doc will be able to do that.

are there f2f docs that treat anxiety?? with benzos? Pretty much all F2F services in our US list can treat anxiety and may precribe benzos or anything that you legitimately need that is not a schedule 1 or 2 drug... So does anybody know what the best route for me? should i try using a f2f service on DB? Nobody here knows what is best for you... nobody even knows you or what your problem is... You need to do your homework and read the threads Many prefer to order benzos from IOP's Check it out
