Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking Xanax.

I am not joking when I state there are 5 warnings on my prescription bottle of Xanax (pregnancy, warning about taking non prescription drugs with Xanax, herbdietry supplements & their interactions, driving while taking Xanax and it states the size and color of the pill in the bottle). Xanax is not a drug to mess with, experiment with, play with or self medicate with. There's more warnings on this bottle then on a bottle of pain killers.

I take that amount and I've been taking Xanax for 16 years now. You can't self medicate with this stuff. I know of people who have it prescribed during severe stressful times (a loved one dying, getting into a major accident etc.) and they are only prescribed .25 mg for a short period of time.

Do yourself a favor, if you don't need it, don't take it. I don't mean to preach, but this isn't a drug to play with. In my opinion and in the opinion of others familiar with this drug it is just as dangerous as heroin and maybe even more addicting. Please be careful.

Your tolerance may also significantly rise if you take grapefruit juice with alprazolam, simply because levels of the drug in your body over time are increased compared to without the juice.

It's just like taking more Xanax. You're better off staying far away from these 'potentiation' schemes.

A price always has to be paid for increased drug effect. Medical science works like that. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

I was prescribed .5mg xanax(gen) as needed and i did get the headache and a little bit drowsy. But when I took higher doses (2-4mg) I feel great and my anxiety is completely gone

Just my opinion, but the 1 MG Sandoz is much more effective than the Purepac's....I can break a GG 258 in half and get better results than a 1 MG Purepac....I get mine from the VA so I can't request Greenstone (Sandoz works just as well FOR ME anyway) and obviously not the brand name.

Having moved to the UK I found it really odd that my GP simply won't prescribe Xanax, whereas in South Africa I had it (Xanor there) on a repeat prescription.

I would take a 0.5 mg tablet when I felt a panic attack coming on or knew I was going into a stressful situation, and it worked fine. When I moved to the UK I had a stock of about 80 so wasn't particularly bothered.

General comment/note about this drug: It's my understanding for a while people were making fake "Gador" brand pills.

A)Alprazolam (aka Xanax etc,) has a very distinct bitter taste. If I took a pill and didn't taste that, I'd be suspicious.

B)For that matter, has this problem been resolved or are there still fake Gadors flying around?

I got some from S. America a month or so ago, and I thought that they were great. I'm sure it all depends on the pharm/supplier.

Has anyone ever had the round green alprazolams from India? They say ALMEE-1 on the blister pack, but there are no markings on the actual tablet. Look pretty odd but they came from a good IOP. Anyone know anything?

Oh, they're meant to be 1mg and it also says 1mg Alprazolam on the blister pack (as well as ALMEE-1) the company is JPEE Drugs. Hmmmm

molly73 - I don't want to hijack this thread, but there is a great website you can go to to help you with this. Alot of reading, but worth it if you are going to taper off xanax.

I prefer the upjohn which I think is brand name, just the one that comes from overseas (if you are in the US)

U94 Upjohn and PurePac are my favorites. To me, both of these are identical in effect.

I'm a gador girl myself. That is what I get from IOP's. When I get them from the local pharmacy, I go generic because I have no insurance, and I always make sure they carry greenstone.. they are the best generic IMO.

anyone tryed the blue footballs "Tafil" 1mg Alprazolam made in germany? they are also manufactured by Pfizer (upjohn).
same shape like the purple ones, only blue in color and they are called tafil instead of xanax.

in my opinion the blue footballs "tafil" has the best potency you can get so far. they are almost twice as potent as the purple xanax from Pfizer.

dunno why, but i think it makes a difference in which country the alprazolam was manufactured. just the brand name does not mean that the quality is world wide equal.

i've tryed many brand xanax from all over the world (exept usa) and the potency varies every time, sometimes more sometimes less. but although it was always the same brand upjohn (pfizer) and 1 mg alprazolam.

i heard the purple ones from usa are also a bit better in quality as for example the eastern europe xanax footballs.

to cut a long story short, i definitely prefer the blue ones from germany. dont konw why they have another name and a diffrent color but in my opinion it is absolutely the best 1mg alprazolam you can get.

I just moved from NC to SC and have to find a different Doctor. I have generalized anxiety disorder and take 1 mg Aprozolam and 10 lexapro. I would love to be able to just talk to a Doctor on the phone and get a prescritption any suggestions. The thought of walking into a new Dr. office is giving me cold sweats.

So you are looking for a new doctor in South Carolina who you've never seen before and you want to just chat with him on the telephone so he can phone you in a prescription for Xanax?
How many refills would you like with that? Generic or name brand?
One suggestion would be to get a phone book, look in the yellow pages under "Physicians" and start calling each one starting with the first listed under the letter "A."
It might take a very, very long time to accomplish that, however.
Getting a referral from your former doctor and "walking into a new Dr. office" would probably be less time consuming and require less sweat than the phone book approach.
You don't really think you can just talk to a new doctor on the phone and get a prescription for Xanax, do you?
