"They" say you shouldn't take Tramadol with any antidepressant due to the combo causing seizures. Personally, Ive had no problems taking an occasional Tramadol with my daily dose of Zoloft. I rarely take a Tramadol, maybe once every few months and never more than 1 or 2 in a days time. I'm actually shocked that docs are still giving out trams when they know their patient is on an anti. Sounds like malpractice any way you look at it to me. Its the trams that can cause seizures but I think that may be in larger doses but don't quote me on that. I knew a girl who loved Ultram and said she got high on them. Well, one night she was at a concert and she popped like 7 or 8 trams and boom! She was on the ground convulsing. I have never liked trams for anything except for taking when I ran out of my pain meds. Then I would take only 1 50mg tram to keep the w/d's at bay. Anyways, be careful taking the two together. I would talk to my doctor and ask him for something that doesn't interact with my anti. Oh yea, if you haven't tried Zoloft yet, I would give it a go. I'm at 50mgs on a daily basis; my doc prescribed 100mgs but for me, that was too much. I've been feeling great. I started taking it after I gave up alcohol a few months back and I now have most of my energy back and am genuinely happy. I was extremely depressed before, wouldn't leave the house unless absolutely necessary, would NEVER socialize, was afraid to even answer the telephone. I wouldn't shower for days, it was too much work. I just didn't care, I lost my will to live. Now I'm doing 100% better. I realize we all react differently to these types of meds but its worth a shot if you haven't tried it already. Good luck to you.
