Hi everyone..I am asking for help because I know nothing about this kind of stuff. My husband has been very overweight since he was in that auto accident, he is acually obese..How is his Phentermine? Also does he have a generic and is it just as good as brand..I don't mean to sound dumb, I have never needed anything for weight before, so I dont want to buy something that isnt going to help Mike..I appreciate any help!!

Thank you for answering..I found a doctor that only does weight loss, and I made an appointment for Mike. What a rip off artist When he checked in, they said nothing about payments, so we assumed that he takes medicare..After waiting an hour, they took him back, gave him a b-12 shot, and told him they were going to give him Phentermine. They sent him up front again and then called him back. They gave him 7 tablets and asked for $95.00. Well, we just didn't have the money today, and said we could come by with a check tomorrow, the bi a tch grabbed the pills and said u can pick these up tomorrow also. We found out that you have to go in once a week get 7 tablets, and pay the same amount each time. Now for anyone talking [censored] about some of us who have to use OP's Do you finally get it? $380.00 a month + the meds. We certainally cant afford it, and if any of you can, will you adopt us and put us on your medical insurance plan??Just kidding, but can you see why some of us have to pay what seems a lot, even though it lands up being a lot less expensive..We will have to get the medications via an online pharmacy,...

I am kind of in the same boat so I know how you feel. I tried to go to my primary care doctor and they do not believe in weight loss medication. So I started buying it over the net and now I can't get it anymore. I can't just go to a different doc without a referal from my primary and I don't want to go to a clinic because it is so hard with my work schedule to get off to go to one if I find one and I don't want them contacting my primary. Big loop of nowhere lol. So I bought them online and now their gone because of the RH Act. Something has to open up soon I hope.

Yeah, my husbands PCP gave him Topomax (SP) and all it did was make him sick. Not a nice way to lose weight..I have never bought Phentermine or any other diet drug on an online pharmacy, but I too hope something will open up soon because it looks like we have no choice..It makes me wonder what things will be like a year from bow, and it sares me

you can start with less expensive solutions and also much more easy to obtain, let say Slimfast for start.

That is a total rip-off! A lot of weight loss clinics do not take insurance from what I've heard. I would call around and find out prices and what kinda script(amount) you get first. Most will give you a month script you can get filled out at your pharmacy + consultation fee.

Do you live near Vegas by any chance? If you do, PM me i can recommend someone.

I lost 50+ pounds and kept it off for 6 years! Cutting out soda for starters. Only drink diet soda. I also take 100mgs of Co-Q10, and Omega 3 fish oils.
But the #1 thing I do is walk. Simple. Obviously if you can and are not restricted.
I walk rediculous distances now but thats not the key. Speeding up the bodys burn factor. Walking is great for depression too. You name it, walking helps it. Good Luck Everyone!

I have a suggestion that you may want to consider.
For the less than the cost of what you said, you can find a nutritionist to evaluate and set up a meal plan. Also probably get a personal trainer and / or gym membership to work with him. Even if it’s just the nutrition side w/o the gym – add walking for cardio (free) for now it can be worth every $$

You will save a lot of $$ and wind up with a structured program that does not require meds.

I have a doc when i go home to south once month he give me shot in my hip of all the b's , b6, 12 etc. which is supposed to help with metablism and energy, there are alot of docs that offer these programs now if you google you could prob.. find one in your area, i think the shot is 20 bux each time, but alot of docs will also just write you a bottle of b12 to give yourself the injection if you ask because it's not really a 'drug' per se. and it does help to want to get up and excercise etc.

i just read about what happened that you already did this.... sorry this doc i know only charges 40 bux for visit and then 20 for shot and the diet pill he gives is not expensive at all either don't recall but about 20 bux.... try asking a doc for b12 to inject yourself (actually you want the mixture of the whole b series vitamins ) and then get a script for phent. onine if you want that or ritalin or adderall though addictive work wonderful for me for weight loss.....actually you could just find a source for one of those and try that for a month, you can find it online fairly cheap, i think the blatants offer it.

I lost a few pounds using phendimetrazine when it was available and have used Ritalin as well. Bottom line... no matter what you take you will develop a tolerance and when I lost weight by eating right and exercise I felt a lot better.

That is not the easy road however, which is what most people look for. It is a change in lifestyle, not a diet or exercise plan.

Have to agree with Arty. Walking helps physically AND emotionally. Though I do have issues with energy & take medication for narcolepsy that helps me with the initial "get up & go", walking & slowly weaning myself off diet sodas (such a caffeine addict!)has been crucial to not only my weight loss regimen, but also my personal well-being.

Good Luck!
