My suspicion is that she (the pharmacist) knew the Doctor himself was in potential hot water over the PPC connection, and the last thing anyone wanted to do would be to trigger a red flag that would lead back to them. I think the doctor told her not to transfer any more of the PPC scripts, but I VERY much doubt he was going to pursue any legal action against the pharmacy for the reason listed above, nor do I think he had any intention to report the pharmacy for violating anything. In fact, he (the doctor) may never have been made aware that the transfer occured at all. Why the pharmacist made the decision she ultimately made, I can't say for sure. Maybe she felt I was a safe risk. I made clear that I understood the legal ramifications of the entire situation, and that it was just as much in my interest as it was in hers for no red flags to be raised. I said that. And again, it was only for 60 pills. Had the script been for 90, I doubt she would have done it. And as I noted in another post, I actually called the Dr's office and asked them point blank whether or not the doctor cared if I transfered my script. The answer I got was that the doctor couldn't authorize the transfer NOR would he deny the transfer. She never said that the doctor was *against* it, but she was adamant that the doctor wouldn't *authorize* it. She (the doc's secretary) said it was between me and the pharmacist now, and the doctor was essentially out of the loop by that point. I told the pharmacist that when I called her back. I told her, "Look, I've spoken with the doctor's secretary. She says the doctor doesn't care. It's just 60 pills, ma'am, not some outrageous amount. I'm just as interested as you are in not violating any laws..." and so it went until she consented. Publix meanwhile treated it like a routine transfer, no big deal, in fact they were all in a rather flippant mood that day it seemed to me. You have to admit that on some days the people who happen to be working at any given pharmacy (or any given store period) are super strict regarding Rules and regulations, but other days they are acting goofy and telling stories about some coworkers upcoming birthday party, etc. Sometimes they don't even ask to see my ID when I buy Sudafed, and that's a law here in Florida. It all depends on who is working that day. You, Stacy, are not factoring in the human element when considering these realities. Jon

as someone who has themselves been around this scene for many years. i know your not making anything up. but the whole reason why the pharmacist was sketched out wasnt because of a forgery it was because it was a telemed script and knew there was no F2F. some pharmacist only found out what telemed was until after RHA passed. some knew and didnt care or didnt ask, when most didnt want to touch anything they knew didnt have a F2F relationship with it. theres reasons why they made the RHA to begin with and this is one. theres some shady drs and shady pharms and mostly some shady people in between making money of it. pharmacys closed and were closed down constantly before the law passed so you dont have to worry or try to defend what your saying most of us know whats up. weve even paid hundreds of dollars ourselves for a direct script to be fedex to us only to open the envelope to find a piece of paper printed of a computer with a drs photocopied sig on it. telling us to just go and have it filled at our local pharmacy that knows us and please stay away from walgreens so good luck and just remember anything you post publicly is just that public.

Re-reading my initial post, I see that I did make one big mistake. I kept saying I got SIX refills, when techincally I only got FIVE. But in the end, all the Fedex deliveries and Publix fills added up to *six* 60-count bottles of Norco.
Has anyone ever gotten FIVE refills from PPC? It just never happened before, and I had been using them since 2006 (when they were called something else). NO PLACE ever gave me more than two refills.
IF the scripts were legit, this meant the doctor made a decision to authorize them WITHOUT even a final phone consultation, which seems doubtful to me. I think things got very frantic @ PPC after April, with them trying to squeeze as much money out of their customers as possible before they shut down for good. Lots of deliveries, judging from these boards, were shipped out between April and June. Lots of "Thanks PPC!" posts. And why not? We're always grateful when our meds arrive.
I remember the days when I would frantically check the status of my package on the Fedex website, and then frantically check the Weather Channel to see if bad weather might possibly delay the shipment, etc. All these scenarios run through your head. Will it get intercepted? Will the delivery man act suspicious? Is this legal or not or this or that....it was not a pleasant time. It was easy up until 2006, but then the domino effect kicked in and PPC was the last to fall.
It was amazing that once the package arrived (for me, anyway), all these nervous thoughts would instantly go away. No more checking the Fedex site or the Weather Channel. No more worries. Until, of course, the bottom of the pill bottle became visible again.
