In my state more and more pharmacies are refusing to fill an out of state script.

I don't get that at all. I believe you don't get me wrong.
I know so many people that move to other states but keep their Dr.s for years in the state they started in since that's who they are comfortable with. I don't understand why these people just don't find a new Dr. in their new state but that's up to them.
So after they do their annual visit they get the meds (not always scheduled or pain meds: blood pressure, high cholestrol,etc.. and pain meds)and fill back in their now new home state. Two examples I know of is NJ to MD and NJ to Arkansas.
Also how would this effect the people who live in one area for the winter and another one in the summer? I bet more people fill out of state scripts for these reasons than any other reason.
This whole thing is just getting stupid.

It is getting pretty sad that pharmacies are questioning if they should honor an out of state script.What if God forbid you were on a trip some where and got sick or injured.You go to the ER or a doctor he writes you a script with a couple refills.Then you get back home to get a refill and they question you about an out of state script and in some cases don't honor it.I don't see the big deal,things happen.Also like you said some people prefer to go back to their regular doctors if they move away.What about veterans who sometimes have to travel out of state to a VA hospital for treatment.It's becoming pretty pathetic these days on how people are getting treated just trying to get the medicine they need.

It appears that some of our docs do not want treat out of state patients since it may cause them problems with the out of state medical/pharmacy board. Some of our physicians will see out of state patients some will not. If you would please call customer service and they will inform you as of your options. Either way we should have several places to fly/drive to if need be.

Things are changing so rapidly and the April 15th deadline is approaching so quickly.
Right now some doctors will do tele-consults until april 11th(friday) and some only will do Face to FAce.
Some Docs will only see patients that live in their state while other docs dont care if patients fly in......

I was wondering whether they issue refills for their DS. Anyone know?

What if med records are more than 6 months or a year old?

After April 15th 2009 It wont matter how old med records are since they ryan act requires you to see a doc face to face and you will establish new records
We do however still do teleconsults and the records need to be less than 12 months old.
