Hello, I am trying this provider and my original request for a consult was on 3/4/09. Since then I have heard nothing. I tried to fax, I tried to call I tried to email and I have received no response. Is this site still calling for consults?

Just got mt 1st refill, was a 'lil worried after Dr. G. got busted. Would my pharmacy refill, or would I be turned down? Anyway...no problem! Dr. G's scripts are still being honored.

Probably not, if you are requesting hydrocodone. PM me, and I will give you an OCS, that is still doing consults.

Dr. G got busted? I have an appointment with him next week. Does anyone know if they are keeping their face to face visits and if he can still prescribe norco's. Where can I find info on him getting busted? Hope I did not waste my time with booking my visit to see him next week. Is Michele still there?

We do not know that he was busted. That is speculation at this point.

What is true is that at this time he is no longer prescribing any controlled medication, only Nubain.

The information provided for each DS service seems to vary slightly, and seems to vary from the official information on the medication.

I would find out more from your service and do your research before you decide if you wish to go through with trying Nubain.

We don't know if Dr G got busted - what we do know is that he sent out a letter stating he will no longer be prescribing opioids. What he plans to do instead, is give people Nubian - which they will have to inject and which costs quite a bit more. It is very risky what he is proposing. Do a search for "Dr Garcia" and you will find all the info you need.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if I were you, I wouldn't bother going to that F2F with Dr G.

The speculation is, that he lost his license to prescribe controlled substances. Otherwise, why would he give up his cash cow of prescribing hydrocodone all over the place? It's the only thing that could explain why he's suddenly no longer prescribing controlled substances to anyone.

I don't know of any recent trougle Dr G has gotten into, but you can review his license status along with any/all disciplinary actions against him by the Florida Board of Medicine at: http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/IRM00PRAES/PRASLIST.ASP - you can check on any license health care professional through this site for that matter. I know Dr G has obligations, so if you click on the status where it says "obligations/active" it will explain the status of his license. He's still licensed to practice medicine, he probably just has to see you face-to-face. Hope this helps.

According to the Florida Board of Medicine, Dr. Garcia's license status is "Obligations-Active," and it says (in reference to the "obligation" portion)

OBLIGATIONS ACTIVE - the licensing board or department has disciplined the licensed practitioner and a penalty, which may include restrictions and/or additional requirements, was placed on the licensed practitioner. The licensed practitioner may practice his/her profession in the state of Florida under the conditions specified by the licensing board or department. Practitioner is obligated to update his/her profile data.

...which I take to mean that he is able to practice under the condition that he no longer prescribe controlled substances. JMO

That's one of his names anyway.

Folks, I feel obliged to tell you. You're betting on a horse with a trick leg.

There are other places doing face-to-face, even a few doing telephonic consults now.

Don't throw good $$$ after bad. Time to look around and move on. Use the valuable resources on this board and your own valuable time to seek out other options.

Really. I wouldn't say it for the heck of it. I don't want to see even more disappointment for you guys. Garcia's issues go much deeper than simply prescribing (or not prescribing).

I know where you're at. I know that feeling of wanting to believe it will all work out with this guy. It won't, I'm afraid.

I've been there (not with him though) over the years, making those fruitless phone calls and sending emails -- thinking maybe, just maybe some miracle will happen.

You can create the miracle. It just won't happen pursuing this route....

Trust me on this one.

Sorry!

There are no new obligations listed yet. Those are several years old, and have nothing to do with his ability to prescribe controlled medications.
If he is officially no longer to do so, the paperwork has not yet made it to the Florida Medical Board.

From my understanding, he's issuing scheduled III narcotic prescriptions via face-to-face but not via tele-medicine. I think he's been restricted in writing prescriptions, he wouldn't be handling F2F and prescribing narcotics if that weren't so. I know someone who just last week had a face-to-face with him, she even bragged on him about how nice and genuiune he was. She walked away with two controlled medications with refills. So who knows if we'll ever know the total truth. Doctors are like attorneys, they govern themselves, and that's where the problem is. Good luck to everyone. I'm going with a local pain management clinic, I'll just have to make more frequent office visits. TTFN

I need advice & here is my dilemma..I had my F2F with Dr G Jan 2 & everything went great of course...the end of this month would have been my re-consult with him & now obviously I do not want to use the new "wonder drug". I set up another F2F for the end of the month with a different doc, closer to my home with a different company because I feel I have no other option. My question is this...do I tell the new doctor about it? I need to get released from Dr G & my online site correct? I have tried to get in touch with them but nobody emails me back...what should I do?

funbags, send them an e-mail stating that you are resigning from their program and that you request to be remove from their patient base.take a copy of this correspondence and put it in your records.you don't need to bring it up and make a big deal about it. it just shows you're on the up and up. when you have your new face 2 face that establishes a new doctor patient relationship and from there it is up to the new dr. to prescribe based on your condition and previous history . that's where showing you have been prescribed these meds. before is important. just that you have taken them and they work for you, not a big deal where you got them .

good luck 53chevy

I had my F2F with Dr Garcia yesterday and at that time he told me he was no longer going to give me scripts for hydrocodone. I had been using 6 per day or 150 pills per month. Nubain is very good at getting rid of the severe pain I had from osteoarthritis and the negative side affects like euphoria are absent. This product is awesome!

A. Garcia was giving me 150 norco tablets per month. The script actually said take 2 every 8 hours so that would be six per day. The point is that I wnated to move to a different drug because of my growing dpendence.

Anyway you should try it instead of continuing with hydrocodone.

I am somewhat new to this message board. Can anyone help with information on how to get 10/325's? I had a few phone numbers of pharmacies but they say they only accept American Express now. Also, is there a specific forum for hydrocodone phamacies and such on the is website? Thanks so much for your help and feel free to PM me.

Well, that would explain why he cannot prescribe hydro anymore I guess...

I'm trying to understand how using Nubain, a synthetic narcotic approximately equipotent to morphine on a mg to mg basis, would in any way help with a "growing dependence" on hydrocodone.
It sounds like just the opposite would be the result. I wonder if this father/son Garcia team suggested to their patients that Nubain would somehow solve a patient's problem with narcotic dependence? Or in reality just get themselves off the DEA hook by prescribing a low-key, thus far unscheduled opioid medication?
It would probably be a good idea for these doctors' customers to start researching withdrawal schedules from Nubain since this scheme of their's is not likely to last very long.

I hope you are serious about that course of action and not just kidding. Despite the few reports to the contrary, I strongly believe that using this medication in the manner that "Doctor" Garcia is prescribing is at best bad medicine for the patient and at worst criminal behavior on the part of this questionable doctor.
