Dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the pain and the response of the patient. It may occasionally be necessary to exceed the usual dosage recommended below in cases of more severe pain or in those patients who have become tolerant to the analgesic effect of narcotics. Codeine tablets are given orally. The usual adult dose is 15 to 60 mg every 4 hours as needed.

okay here goes ........ i can take hydros and my stomach is okay but even at the lowest dose of codeine phosphate i am sick as can be barfing and stomach ache what,s up with this?

thanks, i didnt know i ran out of hydro and took the codiene and got very sick from them.

Can anyone tell me about Tylex CD? I believe it is 30mg Codeine and 300mg Tylenol but I'm not sure. The capsules I have are white and have Cilag imprinted on them.

I, too, get sick from codeine but prefer it to hydro. The reasons being getting sick prevents abuse and it works just as well on my pain.

If you take the phosphate and the sulfate at the same time, will something bad really happen? I had a friend that did it and drank a soda and felt kinda wooseley....

many people prefer the naturally occurring narcotics to anything synthetic; regardless of other factors. Also, ask a heroin or dilaudid addict why they take the drug when it makes them puke everytime. To them, it just a gauge on how good it's gonna be.

He just had too much codeine. It matters not which actual salt of codeine you have; they're all roughly the same and don't interact with each other.

You haven't mentioned that this site you are affiliated with sells not pure codeine phosphate pills, but codeine/paracetamol 15/500mg. In other words, there is 500mg APAP in the pills.

I tried psudaphed a few days ago as a potentiator with codeine. Standard dose (2 tablets) psudaphed with 60 mg codeine. Fantastic!

i would have to say jupiterpharmacy.com...its like 15mg 300 tabs for two twenty plus shipping...i think its called codesul or something...this is the only place i have ever ordered this from. but looking at the name it maybe sulphate instead. it is actually a nutritional supplement. go figure?? dont know how that can be but that what its under on the website.

has anyone ever taken an absurd amount, like above the ceiling dose of 400 mg? it makes you itch really bad starting from your head moving all the way down to your toes after several hours. then the next day your lips may be swelled up...i think its some kind of pseudoanopholotic shock. know this is off subject but no one has really answered except myself where to get the product. feel free to delete if this the wrong forum. thanks.

try jupiterpharmacy or the IOP section. Usually no more than $1 or $1.50 per 15 mg.

As far as dosage, the effects, especially for pain relief, top off around 60mg. With an analgesic it will be intensified. But you're better off with 60 mg codeine and 500 mg tylenol or advil than 120 mg codeine with no analgesic. Thats why many ppl prefer hydrocodone and oxy to codeine--hydro always comes with tylenol to serve as a catalyst, and oxy is much much stronger than codeine (I believe 30mg codeine is like 2.5 mg oxy) so naturally, if you take a normal oxy dose like 5mg or 10 mg, its gonna blow away a codeine phosphate pill.


I used to use an IOP that went under. They sold T3s (generic though--30 mg codeine, 300 tylenol)--for about $1 a piece. Not sure if theres anything that cheap out there now. But dont waste your time buying 50 mg pills and taking 2 or 3 to boost the effect. Better off taking 30 or 60 mg with tylenol or another OTC pain med to kick it into effect.

also--do a google search--there are supplaments that limit the itchiness and insomnia. Plus, anyone taking high doses of opiates at night should have a sleep aid on hand as well. Odds are you may toss and turn for hours if you take 60mg or more of codeine at bedtime.
