There are no simple answers like a Yes or a No Help you do what? Do you understand you will be under the grip of Suboxone?

Yes it did help, the problem is you become dependent upon the suboxone. Although it does have less potential for abuse as you reach a certain level and hit a cealing.
I will, im going in on the 13th tuesday.going tell the doc the whole truth...SO IT'S OUT IN THE OPEN ! 10 TO 13 HYDROS A DAY ! No reason to give false info ,if I want to kick ! Still have a bad back...but hydros is not the helping, so need to kick...........thanks to all...will keep this post going...4ever
i have heard that many are there for a better part of the day while the doc titrates you up to a comfortable dose, although many that have gone this route could give a better answer than i. and i would also think it varies depending on on the doc.

so this is hard to kick too ? and i can't send pm.
i have read that a fast taper, (2 weeks or so) is quite easy with no WDs. i have also read that when taken for months at a time, the WD is just as bad as hydro or oxy, is some cases even worse as the half life is very long and the WDs are drug out for weeks instead of days.
do a fast taper seems to be the consensus and many report little to no withdrawal.

I have a close friend that is a counselor for a impatient rehab clinic. He said the resident doctor will only use the suboxone for 7 days, after that, no more. If you have "real pain issuse" that could be a problem. Might drive you back to where you started. From what I have read, if you go to a suboxone clinic, they want you to do a 6 month program that includes therapy and/or counseling. I am not sure about the percentage of success rates for either. I have also read that some people take sub for pain and plan to be on it for long term-at low doseage. I apologize for going off topic, I tried to pm you 4ever, but no able to.

I think you can still get it on-line , but you need a form ( on line). that your doctor fills in to get them Now if you had all the info they ask, I have no idea if there going to call you doctor.
Don't be so sure. The amount of hydro you were taking per day is not so much. I am on day 6 of suboxone and I haven't felt any withdrawals since the first dose. I think that for some people... those who started to take hydro for pain but now the hydro isn't working... these are exactly the kind of people who would benefit from 7 days of sub. It would be the best of both worlds. You are off hydro without any discomfort and your body is not yet dependent on suboxone. It's worth a try and I think I'm going to try it. Tomorrow is day 7 for me. What's to lose? If there is pain I can always just start taking the sub again.

I'm hoping that you are careful about discontinuing Suboxone cold turkey from a dose greater than 2 mg. From what I have seen, even with only 7 days of being on this medication, a serious withdrawal syndrome can happen. Might take 3-4 days to present but it is very probable. And the pain from that withdrawal can easily be mistaken for the original chronic pain source. It sounds like you have approached this situation in a great frame of mind. And it is possible that you can stop Suboxone abruptly without a problem. Just passing along what I've seen with a caution that a short taper might be very helpful to you depending on what your current daily dose is. Possibly you have been tapering from the beginning induction and I am preaching to the choir. Regardless, congratulations on your dedication to finding a worthwhile solution.
I'm wondering why you don't just try Ultram. WD's from hydro are not fun but it can be done. I've taken hydro for chronic pain for several months a couple of times, up to 8 per day. Both times, I did my WD's with Ultram. It's been a long time but I don't remember it being too bad. I also didn't have any problem getting off the Ultram. I just naturally titrated off over a period of weeks. One day I wasn't on it anymore.
If you have chronic pain and use Suboxone, you might have a problem getting opiate pain treatment in the future. In order to get Suboxone you will diagnosed as an addict. If that's okay with you, go for it.
