1 Time Visit with the Doctors with Consults Direct.Net
Beginning March 16th ( Face to Face Consultations )
Then every 90 days you will do your online consultation with our PA and the Doctor will continue to provide your medications via telemedicine in accordance with these new regulations.
Some sites have wanted to collect from the patient for the visit then pay the Doctor, however this "Fee Splitting" is illegal in medicine.
The patient must pay the Doctor directly for their visit and then pay the site directly for the telemedine consults. Physicians cannot accept monies from anyone except patients and insurance companies.
The deadline for the one time face to face meeting is very near. The Ryan Haight Act states there are stiff penalties including up to 10 years of imprisonment for anyone continuing to perform telemedicine consults without ONE TIME face to face meeting with the Doctor that prescribes the Medicine.
We have been very successful at getting patients down to South Florida for their one time face to face medical consultation. Upon the patients authorization we have received a copy of the patients Clinical History and Physical Examination to add to our database. The patients are receiving a 90 day script with their face to face consult and will be referred back to us for their ongoing telemedicine consults. All patients seen so far have authorized the Doctor to release their medical records. Please keep in mind that the patient still needs to have a yearly physical with any Doctor of their choice in order to document the ongoing chronic pain syndrome as well as the patient's continued need for pain meds.
Additionally, while you may find some Doctors who unknowingly or knowingly are willing to write scripts without seeing the patient at least one time, not only is the physician violating federal law but also the site owners are processing invalid scripts.
Our physicians will provide you with a narrative History and Physical Consultation report that you may show to any pharmacist that may question you about filling your Prescriptions. Furthermore, on your visit our Doctor(s) will give Prescriptions for 90 days for any medications that you need. The first prescription may be filled by a Walgreens or CVS right by the doctors office and the remaining refills may be filled by the same chain in your home town. The Doctor's office will verify any of the refills from the origanial prescription at no charge to you.
Then every 90 days you will do your online consultation with our PA and the Doctor will continue to provide your medications via telemedicine in accordance with these new regulations. At the present time, the law only requires a ONE TIME face to face meeting with the doctor.
Afterwards, the yearly physicals may be performed by any local doctor of your choice but our doctors will still be able to prescribe for you via telemedicine.
