perhaps the time release agents have changed either in formula or application, but i am certain that chewing the 1mg xr at least, does not deliver in the same way as taking a 1 mg regular alprazolam.

Just curious about all these different "brand names" of alprazolam? Are the ones in the US the same as the ones over seas? The Tafil brand 2mg is it equivalent to the US brand names? I mean strength to strength ratio of course and if they are unexpired, basically right out of the pharmaceutical plants. All I seem to get is a bunch of pictures when googling or lots of different outfits claiming to have the info and click the link and you get some online pharmacy trying to sell whatever. Then there is this Upjohn U94 and I see people referring to gadors.....aren't they really all the same. I mean maybe different fillers, but in order to process them they do have to meet standards...I would hope so anyway.....just looking for some clarity. Thanks in advance gals/guys!

I had an ordeal dealing w/ your question today when filling my script. Save-on pharmacy no longer carries Sandoz-Geneva 2mg Alp's; sad sad day. Not too sad though, they switched to my second preference. I am prescribed four mg's daily and have had most all of the generics including many foreign species such as Argentinas praised Gador Alpax bars, which are by the way an extremely fine product, wish they moved up here. I've taken many XR's, those are my only experience w/ brand name U.S. Xanax and I was not satisfied w/ them. Never taken the Xanax brand plain Jane instant release quad bars. I can say w/ out a doubt that there is a difference in quality and the tone of action btwn the U.S. generics though. I used to fill scripts at the 2 large pharmacy chains everyone knows, but I noticed that the yellow school bus bars they carry (MFG. by?) arent NEARLY as effective as the Dava S-90-3 green bars (Dava pill is scored only 3 times instead of the usual 4 .5mg intervals, why?) or the Sandoz, formerly Geneva produced I believe, GG-2-4-9 white bars. Its a toss up for me btwn the Sandoz and Dava bars but out of nostalgia I prefer the Sandoz which is getting harder to find lately. Probably a mental thing though that they are king over Gador, Sandoz, Geneva. When I mentioned this once my doctor said that even though FDA reg's should in theory make all equally effective there is a chance that they're not due to differing synthesis methods, pill press, storage and shipping conditions, ect... I have taken Alp for too many years to not notice even subtle differences, I'll take the pepsi challenge on Sandoz, Dava, or Gador VS. those broke down school busses dispensed at the big box pharmacies.

I need advise from an expert I received some 2mg xanax bars, three cuts down the bar, looks like gg at top the the numbers 249 down the front, three cuts between the numbers and smooth on the back, they seemed weak for 2mg xanax. Can anyone help me to figure out what these are and maybe where they came from. I just saw the same thing on pill identification so these are supposed to be sandoz right.
when i got them they were very soft, like just made and very fragile, I think the may be bathtub. after a month now they are firm but very weak when taken and I am not sure whats in them and cant afford to have them tested. feels like taking a .25 real us zanax as far as effects go but have a tendency to just nod out temporarily, eyes heavy trouble focusing. Could the have heroin or some weird other drug instead of xanax, im concerned as you might expect. funkybreaks seems to know alot about this kind of thing from reading his posts so if you read this your help would be definitely appreciated. Ordered from a site that took me to a china payment service can't remember the name but the site I ordered from was rxphrarma24hrs. I contacted the site numerous times without response and finally contacted the payment site. They tried to intervene but the supplier ignored them as well and due to this they refunded my money. lucky for me because it was a lot of money.

hi there, can anyone tell me is 1mg of xanax = to 10mg of valium? Only I keep getting different answers as some people say that .5mg of xanax is = to 10mg of valium.... it's very confusing! Accurare advice would be much appreiciated.

It's confusing because different sources quote different equivalences, based on different studies or experiences of doctors.

Generally, people say that 0.5mg alprazolam = 10mg diazepam, but you will find different charts quoting different figures.

You can see that they all agree on either 0.5mg alprazolam or 1mg alprazolam being equivalent to 10mg diazepam, but the result for clonazepam from Giannini looks quite wild compared to the rest.

Also, it's difficult to compare benzodiazepines which are different in duration of action; whereas a patient may be able to compare peak effect, the AUC is much more difficult to calculate.

I take Xanax from time to time for situational anxiety. Strangely enough I find I get the best results if I take it with caffeine. A sedative potentiated by a stimulant? Anyone have any knowledge to share or similar experience?

Maybe you're countering the sedating effect and still getting the anti-panic effect. I eat food immediately after taking it, my gut relaxes and I get relief from a continually cramped gut and actually get to experience pleasure eating.

That seems a quite reasonable assumption. I always drink caffeine-containing soda after taking Xanax and never feel sleepy but just very relaxed.

GG249 is Sandoz all the way! Absolutely BRILLIANT generic 2mgs!!! What I would give to get them here in the U.K.!! From personal experience while living in the US & taking them on personal RX. Greenstone is a great generic (U.S.) as well

I did exaggerate a bit - they think Xanax and Ritalin is the "gold standard" for anxiety.
