I use flexeril and it sure does make a difference with my head and neck pain. It also does a great job at potentiating my hydro. So if I'm having a real bad pain day, instead of taking 2 hydro, I'll take 1 hydro and 1 flexeril and it works great!

Can someone help me ID these two different types of generic Flexeril? Both are round; one is orange with SL one one side,563 on the flip. The other is white with DAN on one side; 5658 on the other. I've had the bottle for a while (rx keywest) and can't recall if the two were mixed orginally. Any help to ID is appreciated.

DAN 5658 is generic 10mg cyclobenzeprine. I don't know about the other one.

SL 563 is generic Flexeril but the "SL" markings indicate that the pill may be a bit old...the new generic Flexeril from that manufacturer have "Pliva" on one side and "563" on the reverse.

I appreciate your help! I remember now that the two came mixed in the bottle from rxkeywest and I was leery of using either one.

Mermaid,

When I was out with my back injury earlier this year, they gave me Flexeril, and I remember them giving me the most vivid, weirdest dreams I've ever had in my whole life.

When I was in a car accident a few years back, I remember getting something called Parafon Forte or something like that, and those were probably the best muscle relaxer/pain reliever I've ever had. I'm wondering if they even still make it. I never hear about it here on the boards, so I have to wonder. Hmmm...might be some time to do some research...

Hey Eeyore,

I took Flexeril as well and had the same things...vivid dreams. Also, did you find it difficult to 'wake-up'? I felt like I had a hang-over in the mornings and found it increasingly difficult to get out of bed. I ad to stop taking it because of that.

I don't know about the dreams. But, this sure made me sleepy for a number of days before I got used to taking it. I even started to fall asleep while standing up to try and stay awake. For this reason I think this medication is somewhat dangerous. Valium is also a muscle relaxer and was used before this type of medication came on the market. The 2 mg dose that you took never had the effect of causing so much drowsiness.

Hey Eeyore, they do still make those, I have used them also. However they are very hard to find, it will take tons of searching. I still have some of the ones I ordered but they are not in the bottle they came, so I can't tell you where I got them from-it was a US non record OP though, that much I know. Soma is still my first choice though, but I do take those when I run out and am in pain.

I have to agree with you on how much flexeril helps. I do the same. When my back starts spasming, I pop a flexeril and a hydro. At first flexeril made me really tired, but not that I've been taking 2 or 3 each day, all I notice is relief as my back calms down. My doctor also gave me some valium to see if that helped and it did, but I think the flexeril is better for spasms.

What I find interesting is how hard to find this drug is on IOP's. When I do find it, it's really expensive. Is this drug not used much in other countries?

As for Flexeril I wish I could trade my flexeril for skelaxin or Soma. I have 90 Flexeril 10mgs very strong to strong for me. As above its ok if you take often but for me I only need on and off so they are constint strong. I agree with the hydrocodone statment above makes it feel much stronger.
message me if intrested.

A doctor once told me that 5mg of flexeril works as good as 10mg and doesn't make you as drousy. Don't know if that's true... neither strength worked for my pain, but it probably wasn't muscular anyway.

I've tried taking 5mg to see if it would help and my spasms didn't stop until I took the other 5mg.

Its amazing how everyone reacts tomedications so differently . Flexeril is the ONLY thing I can take for my back pain and I dont have the vivid dreams. When I first had my accident, the doc gave me Robaxin, and goodness, I had such vivid dreams and one time on a Saturday I got up at 6am (my usual time to go to work/school during the week), got completely ready until my husband woke up and asked what I was doing, it was a Saturday, lol. Then they tried me on Skelaxin, the lowest dose (cant remember what it is) and I had to go to the ER because I walked into a wall, then tripped over the cat and fell flat on my face. Not a pretty site, lol. Blacked my eye and everything.

Didnt mean to ramble, but Ive had some weird experiences with those meds and will stick with flexeril. Never tried Soma though.

I just started taking flexeril again due to a recent accident. I like to take Soma during the day and HAVE to take flexeril at night cause it makes me sleepy. No dreams out of the ordinary for me though. Just out like a light. No sleep hangover the next day either.

What is the difference between Flexeril and Cyclobenzaprine?

Some sites have Flex for less than Cyclo.

Flexeril seems to be a miracle drug for some people. I can't take it. One pill makes me so cranky I can't stand myself!

I took Parafon Forte many years ago but it didn't help me much.
