I am looking for a DS service who can call in the prescription to my pharmacy, does anyone know if avantmeds is back in operation, or perhaps someone can recommend another company, one who does not have a doctor who works for several companies? Thanks in advance and I hope i asked this is the right place. Have a good night everyone.

Am a former Avant customer (until they disappeared). Saw the site was back up and called the TF number everyday since Friday. Busy signal. The site still has all of my info in the history area, but they show that all consults must now be done thru Skype! No Skype, no deal. Am still waiting for answers to numerous emails & still trying the phone number. Hope it's Coz; he was very customer service responsive. Please post if you get through. Thanks.

Cos owes me $180 that he promised I would be refunded months ago. He is not honest or responsive. I have only had one bad incident with an OCS and that was with Cos and Avant. Terrible.

Up and running as of Friday.

I need to know who their doctor is though before I go jumping back into that water.

No webcam is needed for most states FYI.

Don't be surprised if you get ripped off using Avantmeds.

just as an FYI, here's an email I received from Cos on 08.20.2008
-----
In a message dated 8/20/2008 5:37:19 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, customerservice@avantmeds.com writes

I am Pleased to Announce the Re-Opening of Avantmeds Premier on-line Consultation Services!

Consultations will be available beginning on Monday August 25, 2008. You may begin registering for a consult beginning Friday, August 22, 2008.

In an effort to stay on the leading edge of this Industry and ensure that Avantmeds can continue to service all of our clients regardless of your geographical location, we now offer a "Face To Face" consultation service via Web Cam Technology for all residents of TN, VA, MI, KY, OR, TX & NH, States that now require a Face To Face consult with the prescribing doctor. You can get all of the details and download the Free Skype software from the site. Also, I am working on some additional servicing concepts that will further enhance our offerings, provide for more secure scripting practices and reduce the cost of our service to you.

I would like to thank everyone for their understanding, patience and support that was shown throughout the down time of Avantmeds and I am very excited and looking forward to providing everyone once again, with the best Customer Service available!

If anyone has any questions or wants additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Cos

From my understanding, the face-to-face consultations are only for the states indicated. If you live in another state, then they will continue with the telephone consultations until they are setup for each state that has the face-to-face requirement.

Thomas

P.S. I need to start using spell check before posting... ;D

I had a consult on 9/3 and haven't received anything yet. Credit card has been charged. Don't look like he's off to a very good start

Just an update for people. Now he notices I am from TN and can't ship. So for a mere 75 bucks is all he is gonna charge to pay for his costs. Seems like he might have a scam in the making

Avant is up and running with a new Doc and NOT Dr. G.

Same way as always, consult day 1, script to Cos day 2, script to you on day 3.

Good to go. 2 refills.

I'm all over where?

Anyway, I do know that Avant has changed again, and now does not do direct scripts. They have a pharmacy now, and apparently ships their medications.

FYI

Now this guy is saying he can't even ship meds to the hard to do states. But for some reason he hasn't changed his site saying he can't. I had a friend who signed up and he accepted her records and all knowing she was from TN. Still makes me wonder why skbgiants why you still brag on him and haven't used him in over a yr. according to you

Well, Cos and company used to be pretty good. However, things change. Since the Direct Script route was screwed up by a few who decided to "change their scripts" once they got them sometime about April or May they have gone to this plan. Of course this plan of submitting records, writing of scripts and the filling and shipping from a pharmacy of choice is WAY more expensive than the old method. On a hydro script (for example) $350 in initial consultation, 90 count 10/500s and shipping fees. After that $150 for the next two refills (hoping the pharmacy will last that long).
Good chance of losing your refills in my opinion. Even if your lucky and it all works out that still almost $3.00 per dose which is double their original prices. Expensive for a legitimate patient but I guess cheap for a casual or other type user. WOW........

And the story continues. Now the F 2 F program for Avant looks to work like this; Pay the heavy upfront fee, drive to the Dr, get your script (no refills), then after a month schedule an appt for the follow up phone consult online and never hear a word back from the Dr or anybody.

Its a one time shot folks. If you live nearby, have the dough and understand this is a one time only deal this might work for you. If you are driving or flying and having any significant expense or effort in travel this is not for you. Go with one of the other services.

I wish I had.
