Patient, Thanks for finding the post. I knew it was on DB somewhere because I know it was not on their site. I think more and more people see the advantage of this company as a long term solution and with all the uncertainty with many of the OCS's, instead of temporarily jumping on board with another OCS and waiting for their state to become part of the program, they are willing to make the trip for as long as it takes until they have a doctor in their state. NNCIP must have been getting quite a few calls/emails about crossing the boarder and had to re-evaluate their Rules as not to raise any red flags. I agree with you patient that they are thinking long term and are willing to possibly give up some patients/$ now in order to make sure they are staying within the guidelines (whatever those are) set by the DEA. However, I have noticed that there was someone in Texas that is way too far from Dallas and was told by NNCIP to wait for Austin to come on board but they said that although Austin is within their state, the doctor across the boarder was still much closer to them. Maybe that might be one of those " circumstances" that they have to " consider carefully". I wouldn't see a big problem telling a pharmacist that you are seeking treatment from a "specialist" across the board if it's not too far, and that can most likely be avoided if they would call or fax in the script for you. Anyway, sorry to ramble but I just started to type as I was thinking. I hope I made sense. BBM

Folks -
Just a comment, I no longer take pain meds, got tired of the hassles and too scared of the LE factor. They beat me down, so I'm taking Bupenorphine. Going okay however, the pain is back and constant.
On the traveling and distance issue, They just don't want to flood some of these Dr's. Like the posters comment above "expect to see a lot of patients from TN" to the doc...not a good thing to tell them.
There is nothing, absolutly nothing illegal or improper traveling even 3,000 miles to see a Dr. or pharmacy. Think serious illness (cancer, etc.) and the folks that go to Johns Hopkins, Mayo, Clevand Clinic, etc. Totally legal and above board. So, I'm just saying don't buy-in to the insurance, long distance treatment thing. NOT TRUE. they just don't want to flood their Drs. Understandable, lots of patients = DEA, State LE, eyes on you.

Sorry folks_
I had a couple of other comments. If you want to beat this thing (DEA and government attack) the only way is through legislation. That's why Ron Paul would have been good.
Anyway, everyone is right opiates are a wonderful almost miracle medication that does help with evrything from nausea, cough, flu symptoms, depression, and to pain of course. And, it is absoulutly safe to the body when taken right. Opiates have no effect on liver, kidneys, or any organ in the body. The acetimetaphine (tylenol) mix is the danger in Hydrocodone. Just remember, anything at or above 4,000 mgs of tylenol a day IS toxic to your liver. Lastly, and I don't mean to scare people but I kinda hope I do, it may save a life. If you are taking opiates and a benzo (valium, etc.) STOP! Again the opiates are safe when taken alone, but the opiate/benzo combo is very dangerous. If you take a proper clinical dose of both you could be fine, but the day you decide to take one extra benz it could be fatal, yes only one extra COULD BE FATAL. So, be careful with that mix, or just don't do it.
Sorry to preach, and I am on everyone's side. If we could come out from the shadows on this, we would get this type of info. But thanks to the government we have to hide and get it second hand. Good luck all.

The ABC's can't do a thing with this. Period. The only way they can shut this down is if the dr themselves write too many scripts to the samr person. .And from the way they have this setup that almost is impossible. This is totally legal. And i have to tell you that from adding it all up it's way cheeper then using OCS's think about it. when i was getting my meds on here from a ROP I had to pay the consult $80-$120 give or take then the meds $80-$90 for 10/325's then that stupid COD Charg that everyone of the rops liked to makeup their own convient price some were charging 25-35 for that. any say i was paying $15,00 for that $89,00 for meds then $27,00 for shipping Then refills $80,00 counsult $89,00 Meds $89,00 Meds $27,00 Shipping $27.00 Shipping $15,00 Cod $15,00 COD $211.00 Total $131,00Total On avreage i was paying $150-$170.-- Per month. This is a Onetime fee of $299.00 then $109,00 Amonth for the service then your meds and we can use our Rx Insurence My Meds will endup Costing A grand Total for a 120 Count of Hydro10/325 99cents $110.00 per month not bad and no waiting around for ups go figure. I think i'm gonna like this place. JMHO

Pardon this 'pre-review': I know it's hard to say this to people who lived on a fixed budget but: Even if the price should work out to a little more than you may pay for today's hot OCS, the extra cost is well worth it. nncip is not an OCS. nncip promises to be the future that Chronic Pain patients deserve. The Doctors working with nncip are not strictly treating Chronic Pain patients. They have practices that treat every manner of ailment too. This is the way medical care in the US should work, especially with an ever aging, ever ailing older population that is growing exponentially! ---- A Doctor contracted to take on some nncip patients is not in some small room with a table and plastic chair and no other medical trappings. ----- No one will ask "What do you want and how many". Dump the 'pill mill' concept we read so much disparaging info about. Dump the OCS mentality - "I've been waiting on a refill for 5 weeks and now they don't answer emails anymore". "Now the website is gone!", etc. That ain't working anymore! ---- I didn't follow your math or even try, Mowwow, because I can't concentrate or think anymore. However for the Chronic Pain patient, isn't your dignity worth a few extra bucks that you otherwise would have thrown at this week's " OCS of the month"? Imagine being able to be proud of where you're getting your pain treatment! I hope I'm right on all this, but so far all indicators look promising. I've gotten nothing but good vibes and frank, honest answers to all the 'tough' questions that I've posed - on the board, through PM's and on the phone. ---- While I wait to be able to avail myself of nncip's services, I'll be seeing an orthopedic surgeon and I'm all but certain that this effort will yield no lasting pain relief, yet will set me back several hundred dollars. This will make doctor #6 (at least) and I suffer still. JMHO, patient2all

These guys are the best. Hands down.
My experience started Friday afternoon around 3 pm, when I registered and sent in my records. I had a few questions about the forms, and Kelly answered all of my emails, roughly at the speed of sound. She advised that I call for an appointment rather than waiting for someone to call me, so I did. Jamie answered the phone and said, "I was just looking at your records, and everything seems to be in order." Then she told me that the doctor in my state would be out of town for a week starting Sunday. I was disappointed because I really wanted to try to get an appointment on Monday, even though I knew it was short notice. My disappointment lasted about half a second, because Jamie said, "...but I can get you in tomorrow, if you want." A SATURDAY. I was elated. Long story short, within 22 hours of registering on the NNCIP site, I had meds in hand. The doctor spoke to me at length about my condition, alternative complimentary treatments, and gave me a full physical exam. I was there for about an hour- which is about 58 minutes longer than my primary doc spends with me when I have an appointment. It was an extremely positive experience, and I can't say enough about it. If you have a legitimate chronic pain condition and records to back it up, you absolutely can't go wrong. I highly recommend. This is definitely the way of the future.
On another note, the doctor in my state is an MD who specializes in acupuncture and biofeedback. She spoke to me about it, and the effect it could have on my pain (but stressed that I was in no way obligated to use her services). She was very informative and interesting, and I really think I'm going to try it. What could be better- a doctor who is understanding about CPers' need for pharmaceutical treatment who is also willing to combine that treatment with some holistic and natural treatments. Again- HIGHLY recommended.
These are all of the details that I'm willing to post publicly, but go ahead and PM me if you want to know anything else about my experience.

One more thing: I would suggest that you bring a copy of your records to your appointment. I had sent all of my records, and Jamie said that it was not necessary to bring a copy. I did, just in case, and it was good that I did. For some reason, my file was missing about three pages of records, and they were important ones- MRI reports, etc. Apparently they just didn't get uploaded correctly.
At the same time, I think that the doctor would have prescribed for me anyway- but I'm glad I had the extra records to back up my complaint.
I forgot to mention this, also- Saturday morning, the doctor called to confirm my appointment herself, offered me directions to the location, and gave me her personal cell phone number. A few hours after my appointment, I had an email from her, going over the alternative remedies that we had discussed, and giving me a link to a source for homeopathic pain/inflammation/muscle spasm remedies, if I was interested. This homeopathic supply website only sells to people with a doctor's recommendation, so if I was interested and wanted to purchase any of their products, I would only have to give them her name and phone number.
Again, GREAT experience. I can't say enough about the doctor's compassion, friendliness and thoroughness, and the NNCIP customer service people's great personal rapport and willingness to help & answer questions. If you are a chronic pain sufferer and have a doctor anywhere near you, this is truly the answer.

5 star service. Appointment- 1'oclock today.... Dr. Absolutely the best. Personable, funny smart and very talkative. This doctor talked to me about all kinds of topics ranging from his friends and the diets that they have tried, Depression, stress, and most importantly the affects of pain on a person's life. I was able to tell him how I had gained so much weight after my injury, and how I needed relief so that I could get my life back on track. I neeeeevvvvvveeeerrrrrrrrrr talk to anyone about my weight issues not even my mother nor my husband, but I opened up to this doctor in a way that was shocking and relieving. We talked about Nutrition programs, different diets, and different pain relieving techniques. No judgment No shame. Just compassion and understanding. Straight eye contact. No BSing just the truth about what I felt I needed to live my life free from pain. I had been prescribed 7.5/750, and he actually said lets switch to something that has a higher pain relief and less tylenol. "Well OK", fine by me...lol. Anyway guys this was the VA doctor and I have a tracking # already and I just saw him this afternoon. NNCIP
