hello all, I aplogize in advance for this long post and poor spelling, as some may know I have been trying to detox my system for an upcomming drug test. I had a few questions, I started about 2 weeks ago drinking tons of water and cranberry juice, working out at the gym with weights and treadmill, taking "creatine suppliment called Jacked", colon cleanse, multivitamen and also using this "7 day detox" that came highly recomended, you take 4 capsules in the am and 4 in the pm before meals and it is supposed to clean out your urinary track and clean out your body of all the toxins.
Well, when I started about 2 weeks ago, I noticed that every time I went pee, it was real yellow and foamy and had a fairly nasty smell to it. Now, to the dumb eye like myself, it would seem that all the [censored] in my system was just being flushed out, suddenly spilling out of my body, all these toxins. A few days ago, all these symptoms seemed to really stop, my uring was pretty clear, a bit yellow at times but not really foamy and no more nasty smell. This is my final day of the 7 day detox but I have still been drinking tons of water and cranberry juice and using the colon cleanse tablets as needed to keep me from being backed up, it has worked well.
Now, am I right about all the bad stuff suddenly being flushed outa me from the looks and smell of my urine ? I am no MD and really not super educated about detoxing. I still am taking my sub, valium and seroquel as scripted since I still need them for my anxiety and sleep problems and I have proper scripts for all.
I passed the home test a few days ago for THC and am done with any recreational drugs for good, my 2 week binge 2-3 weeks ago was it! I am happy to think I am cleansed but is it really that simple, that the initial 2 weeks, my body was expelling all the bad stuff in me when I went to the bathroom ? Sorry for the grose details, I just want to know if that is what was happening since it was obvious from my urine, that I was peeing out something. Like all the toxins just came rumbling out.
Now, I am still drinking soda's a bit and also a lot of water and the cranberry juice, my pee just seems to have settled into a normal flow.
Is it that simple ? Have I cleansed out my body pretty good ?

If it is what we discussed, and you stuck to the diet as well as all other directions for the cleanse, you are home free. I would lay off the water a bit as to not dilute too much. If it is still clear the morning of the test, drink a dark cola and it will add color. Make sure your creatin levels are in line as well.

thanks funky! I have my creatine suppliment so I can always drink that the day prior to the test. Otherwise, looks like I did good. I will stay away from the gym this week.
Who knows, maybe this was good for my body and I ridded my body of a lot of the toxins that had been built up over the years.

No. The 'cleansing' products simply do not work. Chemsynth told us this before. If they did work, he would be pretty excited about them in his line of work!

If you do pass the test, it will be due to time and water.

thanks all! even if the detox kits did not work to help get the THC outa me (which I think they did help), I still believe that I helped clean out my system. Other than drinking a bunch of green tea, I have never done any kind of detox or cleans of my body so its a good thing. Plus, with the 7 day kit I got, they give you extra capsules so you can pretty much do another round of detoxing so I will savem for another time.

Backpain, I hope you don't mind but I was reading your post and just thought I'd add my 2 cents since I'm a dietitan & fairly knowledgable on how the human body works. My recommendation would be not to stay away from the gym this week. Exercise helps to speed up your metabolism, increases your blood volume, helps speed digestion, cell turnover, etc, etc. Therefore, I think exercise, especially cardiovascular exercise that makes you sweat, combined with your extra fluid intake such as Gatorade or Powerade will only ensure that your body continues to flush out any toxins that may still be lingering around. Good luck!! - MissA

Unfortunately, foamy, sudsy, amonia like smelling pee can be a early warning sign of hepatatis. You might want to mention to your GP. The disease can be fairly advanced, it's the symptoms we're discussing.

thanks jackspa, I have read that before. But those symptoms were really only there for about a week. Now, my urine seems normal when it comes out. Its almost like there was a sudden dump of all the toxins outa my body, not sure if it was the cleanse tablets, exercising or the large amounts of water and juice I was drinking.
Now, when I go, it just comes out normal with hardly any foam and no smell. But it is something I am going to mention to my primary doc, I need to get a full physical one of these days anyway to make sure there is nothing going on inside of me that I am not aware of.
Right now, I just want to get past this darn drug test and get my but back to working.

Vitamin tablets can give the urine a strong smell and colour, particularly in the ever-popular megadoses; I think B vitamins especially.

I am going to post this on the other thread I created but I am a bit concerned, I took the home test today and passed but the "control" are of the test had only a slight pink line, I was expecting a real nice pink, both the test and control have to have the pink lines to test negative and they say that even a faint pink means you passed, the test part is most vital according the the manuel and that was a bright pink but I thought the test part would be more bright. Should I be concerned ?? test day is approaching and there is nothing I can do ?
Am I just paranoid ? It has been 18 days now.

You've taken the test by now, and I'm sure you passed if you didn't 'use'.

The cleansing products, as Neph, mentioned do not work as advertised.

Your approach was not in vain though. Switching your mentality into "CLEANSE" mode is the right choice. Simply thinking it creates a placebo effect and starts the ball rolling. The 'colon' cleansing products DO, in fact cleanse out toxins. No, they won't remove THC from fat cells and so forth, but they will remove 'other' toxins that your body is processing daily. No one is going to get 100% 'cleansed' ever. It just doesn't happen.. but one can do a remarkable job on being fairly toxic to fairly healthy.

What I mean here.. is by virtue of stimulating your body with exercise, drinking plenty of fluids, and taking products to stimulate the digestive tract to move more than 'normal' -- You are aggressively hurrying the process.

THC is a stubborn agent. If an expensive test , specific for THC is used.. ie: Blood or Hair -- They will find it regardless of what you do.. for up to a month or so post use. (In the hair even longer.. unless you cut it very short or shave). *Think of the end of your hair (all over your body) and how long it has been there.. drugs are stored in our dead skin cells/hair and they can find it that way.*

But, this isn't what you went through \:\)

Be nice to see what your results were.

Anyhow,.. as for the strong smell, and 'look' -- That is perfectly normal for what you are putting your Kidneys and liver through. You are stressing them,.. they are working hard and as Nephro mentioned,.. multi-vitamins will produce some freakish colors and smells.

For drug tests... I pass on a bit of knowledge. Water is your best friend. You don't need the special 'cleansers' --

Drink 100-200ounces a day, and exercise.

The day of the test. Drink water .. but also (very important) -- Drink some mountain dew,.. or other soft drink that is colored. If your urine is completely diluted (clear) -- It WILL be suspicious, and often times will come back 'inconclusive' because the content is thought to be mostly water. In which it is. If it is of the 'proper' yellow color they generally don't come to this conclusion.

An inconclusive result is an error on the part of the lab technician -- as you cannot have an 'inconclusive' result from a proper sample of urine, regardless of how much water one drinks. However, they will label things that way if 'suspicious' of how 'clean' it is.

Ideally our urine should be clear as water all the time -- But, a coke, tea, vitamins and so on does discolor it and doesn't mean any harm necessarily. Our bodies are built to handle this stress. Thus is the reason 'clear' *dilute* urine is considered suspicious at best.

You get the point, and again, to the OP : I'm sure your body is fine. I would hedge money against any hepatitis flaring up at the same time you are 'cleansing' your kidneys for the most part.

If you have had alot of unprotected sex and/or have used/shared I.V. needles -- Then I might think otherwise. The former is common, but the latter not so much.
