Please use this thread to discuss the various OCS's that deliver scripts... this is for services that will deliver the paper script to the patient... or call it into the pharmacy for patient pickup... Who offers direct scripts? How does it work? Are they legal? Are they legal in some places and not legal in others? What are the risks? What are the advantages? Yes you can post the names of the doctors if you wish. You can also post the names of the sites you think are operated by the same people and that share the same doctor... Why? 1. Because direct script services are priced from $100 to almost $300 and some offer refills and others do not. Why pay more to consult with the same doctor? Why would anyone go to abcexpensiveDS.com and pay double to consult with the same doctors you can consult with xyzcheapDS.com? No reason at all! The reps with the expensive DS do not like the doctor info posted... 2. We are here to share info and to help each other find the best way to buy meds online legally... and not to cover up for any OCS or doctors. Important: Please do not tell other members how to post or what not to post. We already have Rules and moderators... Thank you for your support The following are just a few of the discussion already taken place: Ohio - direct scripts?http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/635769/#Post635769Just lost my DS Refills and ned help...http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/638210/#Post638210Best DS program today? http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/635468/#Post635468TN direct script infohttp://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/627144/#Post627144TX direct scriptshttp://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/635830/#Post635830With DS, Can You Lose Your Refills?http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/637953/#Post637953What is going on with some expensive direct scriopt services?http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/640034/#Post640034The following was found and posted by patient2all and it is very important The DEA has been hip to "direct scripts" for some time. Here is an excerpt from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy November-December 2007 Newsletter For its part, DEA aims to keep the boards and other stakeholders abreast of criminal practices as it becomes aware of them. For instance, DEA notes a recent trend in the illegal sale of controlled substance medications over the Internet that often skirts traditional means of detection. Some illicit Internet operations now offer “Direct Script” programs, in which illegal prescriptions for controlled substances are either faxed to the customer’s local pharmacy or sent directly to the customer to present at a local pharmacy. The Web site’s consultation fee is typically higher, but customers in this scenario can now use insurance to pay for the medications. (For more on DEA’s activities, see “FDA, DEA Speakers Cite Collaboration with NABP, Boards of Pharmacy as Key to Protection of Public Health” on page 175 of this Newsletter.) Controlled substance medications most frequently sought after by illegal means include hydrocodone combination products, benzodiazepines, and phentermine, DEA states in the notice. DEA urges pharmacies to be vigilant for indications that a controlled substance prescription may have been obtained illegally. The agency advises pharmacy personnel to verify the authenticity of controlled substance prescriptions received via fax or in person bearing the address of a practitioner in another state, written by a practitioner unfamiliar to the pharmacist, or presented by a patient unfamiliar to the pharmacist. If a prescription is suspected of originating from an illegal Internet operation, DEA requests that the pharmacist contact the DEA office in their local area; contact information is available on the DEA Web site at http://www.DEAdiversion.usdoj.gov. Alternatively, pharmacists can report suspicious Internet activities directly via the DEA Web site or by calling the DEA drug abuse hot line toll-free at Just remember that direct script services started to show up last year when many pharmacies were busted and forced to close, when OCS's had no pharmacies and could not find any pharmacies to fill their scripts. So they came up with the idea of sending the script to patients so patients have to worry about that part... And this come to us from Dr. A. Garcia as posted by DicertConsults: http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/695405/#Post695405 We received and I am very concerned about the many incorrect statements regarding the legality of Direct Scripts as well as the fact that I am sending out medication. This is totally untrue. According to Florida Law, it is completely legal to write scripts for patients whose medical records I have reviewed if they meet certain guidelines. I would like to post the Florida Prescribing Guidelines attached so that all of these false statements will stop. It really makes me angry to see these postings by people who were denied because of incomplete medical records stating that we are doing things that we are not doing. I do not send medications to anyone because I am not a pharmacy. If I owned a pharmacy and had licenses in every state, then it would be legal for me to do so but this is not the case. I would greatly appreciate it if you could post these. And also could you please help me in re-registering for the free boards. The system appears to think that I am already registered but I am only registered as a VIP member. Furthermore, for all of you that like to gossip about doctors being investigated. The DEA, FDA and all other regulatory agencies MUST Notify a physician that they are being investigated otherwise their actions are deemed illegal. Yes they do often investigate physicians without advising them but none of the results of their investigation can be used. According to my attorney, regulatory agencies do this Pre-investigation to see who should be investigated. In response to the person who posted that you don't remember who prescribes for you. Perhaps you are taking too much medication or you are doctor hopping so much that you cannot keep track of your doctors. No wonder you are worried. Furthermore the DEA like any other regulatory agency has the right to investigate any dr. with a DEA license. This is their job. Your federal taxes go to pay their salary. You should be happy that they are doing their job in protecting the public safety. Thanks Angel M. Garcia, M.D.

I was trying to research the DS route, prices at my ROP are really getting up there. But, it seems that not many are posting about their experiance. Kina leads me to believe there is not many participating. I have enquired to a few posters regarding a few sites and posted in some of the threads...In this case I think it is important to research the Dr. and credentials prior to providing your pharmacy your script. I see that Chat is having a special. Looks like I am staying with my current ROP (PPC) or trying Chat for the price break...GOing to research them a little more now. Don't care who a regular ROP is using as the Dr, as I don't have to be there handing in the script. Looks like the new face to face has come to my state and I will probably go that route soon. I have a nerve study being done and a new MRI. I am going to finish those tests, get the results and then try the face to face. Thanks to those that did respond in these DS threads over the last few days. It truly is difficult to think about severing a relationship with a current provider when you know you will get your meds....Even though you may not be able to afford them...LOL GOod Luck to everyone, it is getting tougher in this OCS world everyday. I just wish the prices were not sooo high, then I would not have to be wasting time shopping for a new prodvider. Thanks again guys!! (and gals!)

I saw a post and cannot reply to it (on the PMC thread), but it was about when controlled Rx' expire, which pertain to how long a person has to get the Rx filled for scheduled III and a schedule IV controlled med;
yes they expire 6 months from the original date they were written, however, with the Rx for a controlled substance you only have 30 days to get it filled from the date on the Rx. Schedule II's are different, usually they give you 7 days to get to the pharmacy for filling.
The 6 months means that if you do not put in for your refill until after 6 months on a schedule III or a schedule IV controlled medication, then the refills will become null and void.
Some states may vary in this so it is always best to check your Board of Pharmacy website out or just call a local pharmacy in your state and they can tel you how they handle these things. I am only stating what I know to be how it works in NY as an example.
I posted this here, because it was on another OCS that now does direct scripts and so I could not reply to that. Great point Ruggie, thanks for the great info as always =)
