I have a question too. Since this is a Face to Face visit, then why the need for records? I understand that chronic needs to be proven, but is it at all possible for one of these Dr's to become my PCP, since I no longer have one? Maybe the Dr. could be seen initially, then 3 months or so down the road seen again, then scripted medication after the second visit?
Food for thought.
First off, please accept our apologies for not attending to such an important question. It actually falls into the category of "things we don't know yet" but we will find out. I believe that at some point a patient has to be evaluated and be diagnosed with a chronic pain condition. I would assume that the appointment would have to be much more thorough and the normal process may be that the doctor may try multiple disciplines of pain therapy before being able to diagnose your condition as chronic. I am not an expert so maybe some of our other patients can elaborate... Thanks, NNCIP Support I assumed such records would be necessary for the doctor to screen out those who really don't suffer from chronic pain. There is no point in scheduling an appt and going through the exam, only to find that the doctor cannot help the person. This wastes the doctor's time as well as the patient. That appt could have been given to someone with chronic pain. And...since a portion of the consult cannot be refunded, wouldn't people like to know ahead of time if they will be helped or not? It's for the patient's protection as well as the doctor's. Just my take on it. Since this is so new, I doubt if many have gone through the process completely yet. But I hope they will post when they do.

I am wondering if the doctor in the Chicago area can see patients from Wisconsin. With all my wifes CP issues she had many scripts from Chicago doctors scripts filled with no problem locally in Wisconsin.
Well after seeing her almost killed by a horse and being gone for 11 months I am now a basket case. I have a local shrink that has a PTSD diagnosis and have years of notes from my PCP about my insomnia. Add them together and I am about as tough as jello in a July 4th picnic. The 11 months I refer to is her having her tibia rebuilt with titanium and bone grafts. I am so glad she made it out of that, but I can not get the mental image of finding her in shock with no BP and a pulse of less than 40 BPM. As a trained EMT I knew to call in for help and they were there in just a few minutes. The bad side is I can't get the image of my wife almost dying out of my feeble mind. I have tried my PCP and the shrinks he sent me to. I have seen a neurologist and still can not sleep or avoid anxiety problems that are now crippling me.
Bottom line, does Nnicp have doctors that can help me. The MDs on my insurance are just blowing smoke. I can not find a MD that is even close to compassionate. Any advice is welcome. Thanks. LeviDenim, I dont believe that it would be a problem for you to see our doctor in Chicago, like you said as long as your area in Wisconsin doesn't have a problem with a prescription from a doctor in Illinois, we dont have a problem getting you an appointment to see the doctor. So, yes. I do believe that our doctors are compassionate, and they can help you. I hope I have answered all of your questions. Thank you, NNCIP Support
