IF not what do i do? I have records.. but am having a hard time getting past the getting approved part and actually talking to a doctor.. its not that im missing the calls.. they are just all backlogged or so they say. SO it is really sucking to know im approved and just not able to get a doc on the phone..

I can't figure out how to start a new post, so I thought
this would be the best place to ask. I put in for my
last refill from my DS at my pharmacy last Monday, and
they have been saying that are out of 7.5/500 for the last week. Has anyone heard of shortages of this medication?

Yes, up North at least. My face-to-face Doctor has prescribed that for the last 3 months.

The first time the pharmacist told me there was a "problem with the prescription". She said she couldn't tell me what "the problem" was.

When I pressed for an answer, the pharmacist finally said that there was no such thing as 7.5/500 hydrocodone. After I provided proof that it existed, she acknowledged there was such a thing, but they would have to order it.

The pharmacist I've had the bad luck to deal with also believes that 7.5/500 hydrocodone is Schedule 4

Originally, I was prescribed 90 10/500 hydrocodone. A different pharmacist at the chain was leery of filling what she referred to as a "large amount of narcotics" when calling "headquarters" for advice and suggested that she could "substitute" a "Schedule 4 prescription like 5/500"

I check their name tags and these are indeed pharmacists and not pharmacy techs. The disparity of knowledge depending on the pharmacist you encounter is disturbing.

------

Between the 2 branches of this major chain pharmacy that are in my county, they have never been able to fill the entire prescription of 90 at once. I've needed to make up to 3 trips to 2 different branches over a number of days in order to get the entire prescription. It is an annoyance.

-------

The Doctor told me that I should Notify the pharmacy a few days before he issues a prescription so that they can get the order process going, but I can't see the pharmacy taking "instructions" from the patient like that. I'd feel like a fool doing that and fear I'd be told I don't have the authority to tell them what to order a week before the prescription is issued.

In a just world, the pharmacy should realize the need to stock a sufficient amount of the 7.5/500 hydrocodone since at least one customer has required it monthly of late.

However, I later learned that even major chain pharmacies are bound by quotas as far as what percentage of controlled medications they can have on hand.

------

I'm in a major metropolitan area also, but since the Doctor has been mailing the prescription in to that pharmacy chain, I feel kind of stuck with them.

We patients are in the sorry position where we fear that specifying another pharmacy chain midstream would make us appear "suspicious". I don't know if other major chains in the area would be more likely to stock it either.

Even when we do things "right", we walk on eggshells fearing we may be be accused of doing something "wrong" if we "make waves". After all, we should be grateful that we are getting any treatment in this sad environment that has been created around us.

------

A wise pharmacist was more forthcoming and stated once that a complicated formula is now in place for how much of any controlled substance can be on-hand based on volume and ratios of controlled prescriptions vs. non-controlled prescriptions filled. The pharmacies may be allocating their limited quotas for the more often prescribed formulations.

--------

So you are not alone....

I'm in the same situation as you are....I can't figure out how to start a new topic. Perhaps someone will help us through the steps we need to take to post a new topic...

I contacted consultsdirect, but was informed that I have to be 25 years of age to consult (I'm 24). Is this a universal law, or only with consultsdirect? Or is it a state by state thing? sorry if this is a dumb question.

Confused here, are you saying that mydoctorconsultonline.com is an affiliate of DoctorsOnDemand.com or vice versa, or that they work with each other?

Same company websites with Delta Health providing U.S. based customer service. Delta Health assigns everyone a personal representative so you dont have to talk with a different person every month. The rep provides direct phone line and personal email address for info or help.
Very good operation.

Doctorsondemand is that a good site. I live in Oklahoma and at one time delta health serviced my state but does not now. Do you know if Doctorsondemand is with delta health. And do they send scripts.

asking for pms will get you in trouble.

Very few people are getting scripts right now.

As the date in April approaches most here are scrambling.

Your only real choice at this point is to pick a service that has a F2F doctor near you and begin that process.

Reggie, that is not gonna happen. You will need to go to a legitimate doctor in order to get a prescription.
