The mallies I have received before were white. I thought they worked good for my pain, made me a little tired the first few days though.

Generic Lorcet 10/650 made by Malinkrodt are not white. They are blue with an imprint of M361. Perhaps you received generic "Lortabs" and confused them with the Lorcet 10/650 that is being referred to.

BTW, I have taken brand, Watson and Mallie Lorcet 10/650 and didn't really notice a difference. I was on Mallie Lorcet for a while and kinda got used to them. This was before I learned about Norco's and decided to switch to 10/325's to lower my APAP intake.

Personally i don't like the Mallies they tend to make me nausea's and i think it is because they have too much dye in them since they seem to have a bad taste to them too.

Pardon a newbi question, But why wouldn't the various generics, or name brands for that matter not be 100% identical?

What could be the difference between a 10/500 from one maker rather than another? Don't they contain exactly the same thing?

I have taken lorcet10/650 for years, on and off. I personally believe the Watson brand, which is the green ones with 503 on it, is as good as the brand name. The mallies are cheaper made IMO. The 10/500 Watsons are also just like the brand, but I still prefer the 10/650 Watsons.

I have a question about codeine related meds.
I found a site that says the difference between Tylenol #3 & Tylenol #4 is one has 30 mg of codeine, the other has 60 mg.

Okay, when you look at sites offering Hydro's in mixes likes 10/5/7.5/ with the combo being /325/500, etc. I understood that mix to be like this 10/325 would mean 10 mg of codeine w/325 of ibuprofen, right?

If that's the case, then why can you buy the Tylenol #3 & #4's cheaper than the hydro's? Am I just reading the mix entirely wrong or is the combination what counts?

the Hydros contain HYDROCODONE which is a synthetic derivitive of Codeine and because of the Hydrogen molecules account for a stronger medication. Also, the 500/325 is Acetaminophen (Tylenol) not Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is only found in VICOPROPHEN and not in any other HYDRO product. Also, HYDROCODONE is much easier on the stomach because it also has a buffer in it to prevent stomach upset that regular codeine doesn't have.
Hope this clears things up

Thanks bright eyes...
One more question...
What's the difference then between Hydrocodone and Codeine #3 (is it only that one has acetamin. & the other ibup.?) along with codeine as the other ingredient I mean.

Hydrocodone is stronger and they both contain acetaminophen.

Basically, the difference is the acetaminophen. Using the 10 mg. hydro strenght. Lorcet is 10/650 mg, a green tablet if made by Watson. Lortab is 10/500 mg, a blue oval-shaped tablet if made by Watson.

I get the same relief from both 10 mg strenght since the only difference is 150 mg acetaminophen. Watsons only.IMO.

Plus, there can be a big price difference on ROP pharms from generic 10 lorcet and 10 lortab with the lortab the cheaper of the two. Alot in same cases

I find if they have more tylenol in them it helps with the pain more and the pain relief last longer, so I usually take a reg strength tylenol with a 10/325 when I am in bad pain like today while it rainy and cold, as I hurt even more then.

a pharmacist told me this, believe it or not, the mallies are stronger than the watsons, they are packed firmer, and harder, and the watsons are more chalky whick makes them not last as long in your system, he said the chalky will make break down faster and not have as much pain relief time as the non chalky mallie, and he said that is probably the reason why some ppl get sick from mallies and not watsons, personally neither make me sick, but I do notice longer pain relief from mallies.

My Rugrat,

The debate over mallies and Watsons could go on and on. I normally read your post since you are up to date on most issues.
I believe it is what ones' body gets used to taking, and some psy. factors too. I have found from my experience that the mallies do make me more drowser(sleepier) than the Watsons do.

Hello 1102.....
You might want to spend sometime reading this board. You cannot order hydrocodone anymore. As of 4/15/09, you need to meet with a doctor face to face and have a legitimate medical purpose for needing the script. You can arrance appointments through an OCS, many of which are listed on this board. You must provide records before they will make the appointment. Cost runs about $300, plus the cost of the medication, if you get a script after your visit. Good Luck.

Flash the prices for F2F have gone up more than double, most places being 300.00 and then 119.00 every month for consults after plus your cost of meds and however you get them. Shipping if you order them online. Does someone know any better way to get this done? Thanks
I'm not sure this is the right forum to place this note but I think everyone needs to know whats going on and help each other find a better place to obtain there meds.
