I hope you are serious about that course of action and not just kidding. Despite the few reports to the contrary, I strongly believe that using this medication in the manner that "Doctor" Garcia is prescribing is at best bad medicine for the patient and at worst criminal behavior on the part of this questionable doctor.
What is strange about these types of comments to me is that when others say this about these doctors prescribing narcotics and benzos we defend the practice.
I would suggest anyone who is thinking about Nubain, or reluctant to try it, based on what they read here, call and talk to several pharmacists in your area.
I am not saying it would be ideal for everyone's pain, but the easy availability of it in pharmacies and the pharmacist's laid back attitudes about this medication suggest it is not as odd a proposal as we first believed.

Or would it be safer for the patient to talk to actual doctors who are knowledgeable about treatment of chronic pain and the appropriate use that Nubain might have in an outpatient treatment program? Rather than relying on the opinion of a questionable online physician and some retail pharmacists.
Why is the doctor questionable only after he stops giving people exactly what they ask for?
The vast majority of people would say that about ROP use in general.
I have one refill left, but will most likely try the Nubain myself. No one that has actually tried it has reported negative results.

I guess I will have to respectively disagree then.
I had a very pleasant, very thorough face 2 face. More time was taken with me than when I went to my initial visit at a local pain clinic. We went over in detail every little thing, every detail of my history, and I was given advice on things completely unrelated.
I have since been forwarded research on my particular condition, as well as recommended lifestyle changes that could benefit me.
My face 2 face was before the Nubain change, and I have one refill left.
I researched the Nubain as well as have had the added benefit of observing first hand someone else try it, as well as a long conversation with a pharmacist who uses it himself. I have read through the extensive pack of materials included with her prescription, and have to say it is very thorough.

I have found Nubain to work very well, and it is nice to get away from hydro. I do not understand the difference between the two, but I do have a clearer head with Nubain. I am worried about the side effects from Nubain,is it addicting? will I grow dependant on it ? I have stopped using it until I can discuss the drug with my Dr. here where I live. The other problem with Nubain is that it is hard to stick myself. There is a compounding pharmacy in my city, but it would cost $500.00 for 100 tablets and I do not think my insurance will cover it. My insurance will probably cover a hip replacement, and that is what I am going to push for so that I will not need to take any kind of pain relief.
Its been a while since I've been on here and now i regret! Since loving the ease of scripts i've been w/MEC only. When i got the email the DrG wasn't writing hydro i called to talk to him, very briefly researched on internet before getting my MO since FedEx was here next a.m. I tried the first sample subQ, little woozy but figred it'd take getting used to. Few days later read the paperwork over again & realized it said shot goes in muscle, which I did - and it knocked me for a loop, i thought i was going to puke and was out light a light in about 20 mins. i don't plan on filling the script. My own fault for not taking time to check into it more! i so wanted to believe the "ease the withdrawl" from hydro and non-narcotic sschpeel. May be ok for some people, not for me.

[quote=funbags2647] what? You were taking 6 per day? Thats really a lot...who was prescribing you 150 pills per month? How can you function normally taking 6 pills a day?
i was prescribed 180ct 10/325 norco per month for 2 1/2 years by him. 6 per day is nothing. the mental effect was insignificant and even taking 60mg per day, my back still hurt.
since filling my last refill, i have cut down to 2 per day, taking a half pill 4 times per day. guess what? for 2 weeks i weaned and felt low but now, a half pill has more effect than a whole one did 2 weeks ago. it's all about your tolerance. the injured disc in my back isn't better, but my tolerance is lower.
quitting completely will be way harder than cutting from 6 to 2. it's the breakthrough in the morning that will be the hardest to give up. my doctor would probably give me 30 per month but why bother? one per day is ridiculous.

I just receive a PM from ConsultsDirect letting me know that "Just to let you know that My Easy Consult (MEC) wrapped things up a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure they cancelled everything, phone, fax etc."
Which is sort of strange and the Fax answers... but...
... unless someone has heard anything recently from them... we will remove them for the list too...
Any news?
