Looking at the recent stats I see.....

New Members:
3073 Last 24 hours
3977 Last 7 days
7366 Last 31 days

This looks fishy....

as 3,073 members in the last 24 hours would mean..

21,511 members in the last week, not 3,977 in the last 7 days
....also...
95,263 in the last 31 days, not 7,366

Even the weekly stats make no sense as
3,977 in the last 7 days
means
15,908 in the last month, not the posted 7.366

I was wondering if the board is being hit by shills and bots in the last couple of days.....

It is to peculiar with the stats given...

At 3,073 new members a day we will have ...
10,93,988 new members in the next year....
and in 30 years everyone in the USof A will be a member..

and in 548 years everyone in the world will be a member.
Of course I used first order approximation in my calculation that did not take into account population growths and reduction (probably mostly growths in the near term till global warming and Al Gore change that).

Out of the 7366 members, 3977 is the number that joined in the last 7 days,

Out of the 3977, 3073 is the number that joined in the last 24 hours.

WOW, you're right. If this board gained 3073 people in the last 24 hours, they're going to need a bigger board soon!!

I have noticed lots of users posting for the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time but with registration dates from years ago. It would not suprise me if half of those who just joined never come back to post due to the wait time required before making your 1st post. That might weed some users out bc they don't want to wait or they forget that they joined. Just a thought...not the law.
