What she said!
Sorry folks, but I recommend you pull out your charge card and do that charge back today, while you've still got a chance! If NWW cared as much about you, they'd let ya know what's going on, and if they've closed up shop(which sounds more logical) ain't nobody gonna get a refund for nothing! OO--double negative.....so, if you don't take matters into your own hands, you're gonna get stuck with this bill and NO meds

I'm sorry to see this happen since I was loyal to NWW, but I was lucky to just get my last refill before the big bang. I'm also lucky to have a copy of every record for my conditions so I can just "slide" over to another company with little hassle. I feel bad for those that got caught in the middle of their refills or, even worse, just got and paid for a consultation/fill and are getting nothing. IMHO, it may be hard for them to find a pharmacy because they probably have a nasty black eye from this and most pharmacies might be hesitant to latch on. I hope things get untangled and NWW revives itself and becomes even stronger than ever. But for now, I think it is best if those in need find alternatives. You can always go back if things are in good shape.

(That is more than likely the cold reality of it. Don't let a charge from ANYONE go over 21 days, especially if the charge is for a service or goods you never received. You can give them a little time to make things right, but don't just sit there and then lose the money in the end.)

They (the "alphabets") already HAVE all your info my friend...and HIPAA won't save you if they determine what you did was illegal...HIPAA is one big exemption clause that does little to actually protect your PHI!!! I sure wouldn't sit back and wave bye-bye to my money based on THAT assumption, but hey, I don't use ROP's....still don't think I'd do it...I'd have my chargeback completed by now if I were an NWW patient

So consulting with a registered doctor (one of theirs received their license in 1974), filling a script from a pharmacy that is licensed in your home state and having medical condition to warrant the use of the PRESCRIBED medication....I will give this to NWW, they played by the Rules so that their patients were covered. As to what extent, that's fairly gray, but it wasn't like people were getting tons of meds (ie 3-4 bottles a month) from NWW and Medipharm....just wasn't happening....

With no new updates, their forum closed down, and no way for customers to log to their NWW accounts...

We had no luck with their numbers
Are they answering the phone or responding to emails, or PM's?

It is best for all customers to hope for the best but prepare for the worst...

There are rumors that NWW is closed, and signs that NWW is acting more like they are closing than that they are planning on staying open...

We hope the rumnors are not true

We do not like rumors but it is best to prepare, and plan, for the worst...

It is a good idea to start looking for alternatives

Thank you for your support

It isn't just a licensed doctor; the doctor has to be licensed in the state you live in order for you to receive a "valid prescription" and "legal medical care" from them. And, the pharmacy also has to be licensed in the state you live in for them to legally "fill and dispense" a "valid prescription" for/to you.

If the OPs that used those Rxs, went home and used their home computers to log on to DB, I would think them stupid. I would not want to have any thing to say, without a lawyer present. And on the VIP side, I believe, or it could have been here, that none of this has to do with why the Rx's were busted. It had to do with illegal activity that was far more criminal than even filling for NROPs.

It was in one of the postings from a media source. Ruggie, was it one of yours?

Hi Ruggie, That's the best most honest advice anyone has given. Although the NWW team is well loved around here, they understand people have got to be serviced.

Any NWW customer should immediatly compile their records and get to a new service quickly. Although I certainly don't mean any harm to come to NWW I also feel the same way about CP patients and they do too. They just can't say it

Here is a question I have never thought of before...if you do still have refills with a "now" closed OP, and you sign up with another, would that be double dipping? In some automated systems I would worry that I would show up as ordering the same med from two different sites, with the time frame overlapping.
Just a thought.

I would think there would be a way to get around that, especially if the pharmacy that had your refills was busted and shut down.

Abbey...from what I have read, the doctor just has to be a US Licensed physician and the pharmacy licensed to do business in your state. I believe this is a state to state requirement (here is the one for Texas as an example..)

A prescription issued by a doctor licensed in another state, but not licensed in Texas, may be filled in Texas, if a true doctor-patient relationship exists.

So, you can't definitively state that the doctor MUST be licensed in your state unless you have SPECIFIC laws stating that fact (and giving cause to unnecessary worry among the board)

Request a refund from NWW first. Give them a chance to give you a refund...
If that fails: contact your credit card company or the bank/financial institution that issued the credit/
debit card and ask them for instructions...

Thank you for your support

If a true doctor-patient relationship exists? The relationship between a ROP doctor and a ROP client is not a "true doctor-patient relationship".

Oh, yes, I can, because I have spent countless hours researching the state laws, posting them on this site, posting links to ALL 50 states' medical and pharmacy boards. I have received untold amounts of insults and screaming and having my head bitten off for posting laws pertaining to medical issues. Don't accuse me of causing panic and worry on this board, don't accuse me of lying or misleading people until you do a little research on what I have posted, why I have posted it, and where I got it from. Go back through the Laws and Regulations section of this board, back in August-November of 05 through now and see how much effort I, and a few other members, put into compiling medical, doctor, and pharmacy laws for each of the 50 states, giving everyone access to them, and enduring insults and recriminations for trying to shed some light on this subject.

Don't make blanket statements until you've done the research to back it up.....I make sure I don't.

NWW has closed as well as their call center and their phones are disconnected, the thing that I was told was to do was a chargeback right away. To insure that do receive your money back call your Credit Card or bank and request a charge back, their is also only 30 days that you can do this, this is for customers that paid for a consult and never got one, or were charged for a refill and never got your refill due to this problem at this time.

I was told this by an NWW rep. and also the reps were let go this morning.

NWWCarolyn cannot reply to anything because NWW is closed and if she could reply she would, same goes for Patty and any other NWW reps at NWW, put it this way, NWW has left the building.

So basically, you're saying that NWW no longer exists, so Patty and Carolyn no longer are employed by NWW so they could give a rats [censored] about us, because they now have to find new jobs. I understand. I'll buy that.

Ruggie, you might want to start a new thread about the chargeback. This is important for people to know especially since you received this advice direct from NWW. Your call though.

"May" is not the same as "must." Assuming that what you say is correct, being able to fill such a scrip is not the same as being required to fill it.

Most states leave it up to their pharmacists' discretion as to whether they should fill a controlled substance prescription purportedly written by an unknown out-of-state doctor who is not on record there as writing prescriptions for that particular patient. None of the large chain pharmacies will do such Rx fills unless there are extenuating circumstances such as a medical emergency.

You bet they are going and filing for unemployment at this time. NWW is closed as well as the other OCS's that had the same owner.

Yes that is a good idea, as soon as everyone is in bed and the dog makes and is in bed too I will start a thread about this. To clarify I did not get this info from NWW directly but a rep that I am very good friends with and they know what I am posting.
