I debated responding to this post at all, but some things bother me about it...first of all, ER's DO NOT treat pt's with their own meds...and secondly unless your seizing in the presence of the ER staff they don't treat seizure's...I know cuz I have a grand mal seizure disorder....they start an IV and observe the patient...release you with the instructions to follow up with your PCP and a neuorologist. If they had given you a med, they would have given you one of two meds approved to treat seizures, valium or ativan...xanax is NOT a seizure med...and where is the double dipping...I don't see where you got the FIRST script of xanax....please explain in detail how exactly your PCP thought you were double dipping...so Walmart didn't take your insurance, you never picked up that script...where did you get ANY script for xanax...this whole story doesn't make any sense...ER's follow protocols and they don't change from ER to ER...and you had a previous story where EMS responded and magically used a xanax to treat you given to you by a "friend" present...I'm just not buying all of this...it doesn't happen, it's not approved, the DEA would never stand for the ER physician giving a patient that number of xanax from a patient's OWN supply for a seizure HE didn't witness. So flame away, none of this makes sense

I don’t understand where the double dipping happened, either. If you didn’t pick up the script from Walmart, then you didn’t pick up the script. It’s that simple. Where is the other script that must have been filled to accuse you of DD? Unless you are saying she is accusing you of this without cause in which case you certainly need to fix it ASAP. You don’t want to be labeled, especially with your insurance.

I am also surprised that an OBGYN treats your anxiety. Unless you are postpartum, anxiety is certainly not within the scope of an OBGYN’s medical practice. You definitely have an odd situation. If you didn’t double dip, you should be outraged and have this situation straitened out so that you are not unfairly labeled.

Good Luck

(cause this generic scripted Zantac just ain't cutting it)

Abbey, try Prilosec OTC. It costs less than a dollar a day and you only have to take it once a day. My doc had me on Nexium for chronic GERD, but when I lost my insurance and couldn't afford it any more, I found the Prilosec. I tried OTC Zantac, Pepcid AC and others, and while they would work okay for a while, I built up a tolerance to them and had to take more and more to get relief. I've been taking the Prilosec for 8 months now and it is a miracle.

Last time I checked, you could get 42 doses at Sam's Club / Costco for less than $30.00.
