I think the examples in the first post pretty much sums it up. I think most users should be able to understand why after that. especially the wife/husband using this info against you in a divorce, or in the decision of who the children should go to. if they find out you're purchasing pills online and use that against you in court, you can bet your butt you won't be seeing the children without a monitor.

That is why you should do the following for perceived controversial websites, such as this:

1) Use a generic name, or a name you have never used before.

2) Don't divulge your REAL email or Location/Address.

3) Don't allow an IOP to easily link your details with your board name.

Time and time again, people have attempted to screw me over (outside of the DB world) and I have found incredible information on them, using online resources. Such as their hobbies, physical address, date of birth, email address, siblings, parents, educational instituitions attended etc etc.... Once someone has your name, you are easily compromised.

You need to access another IP address. I'm not going to go into detail on how to do it from the same computer, but will say this, if you use another machine, (preferably from a different location) you'll be able to log on. certainly if you log on from another location, like your home, office, etc. just do some research and you'll also see there's ways to spoof your IP address.
