I was just thinking. My boyfriend gets a refill from NWW tomorrow from St. Peter's. However, with this power outage, it might not go out, and if it does, I wonder if FedEx can fly out of PA? Anyone know anything about this?

That is an interesting thought...it will probably effect alot of us considering the many stops the planes make on their way to us.I guess I'll spend the whole day at home waiting for the rumble of the truck,I just hope it comes.

I hope we all get our meds, Because tomorrow is Friday and I doubt if they will deliver on Saturday. I will check and see if mine will be here in my town, Maybe I can call and pick it up so i don't have to wait until Monday.

I have a feeling huge couriers like Fedex and UPS are equipped to handle power-outages. Too much important stuff goes through them for them to be put off by something like that. The only problem would be if the pharmacy itself lost power and was never able to process the refill.

I would guess that St Petes would definately be affected by the power outage. Even if that area has power , if the surrounding areas dont ( which inculde airports ) shipping will most likely be delayed a day or so . Hope everyone has a few extra meds on hand in case of emergency.

No. I was busy being honest and doing the stand-up good guy thing. You know since I started being a better person, I have not seen one positive effect.
I think that "Virtue is its own Reward" stuff is a bunch of hooey, and I am completely bored with improving my character.
So there.

P.S. It is a terrible thing, but when I heard of the outages, I was feeling terrible for everyone back there. It took me exactly eight minutes to start feeling terrible for me when I figured out the logistics! For this I am truly contrite.

Since when do you feel like you must improve your character, from your post you seem like you are way ahead of the game. But, if you feel you must make improvemnts, try and tell yourself that "good things do come to those who wait" I tell myself that daily, as i am still waiting, have been for years But with my luck I will be waiting for my ship to come in only to find out it was on the bus.

My inlaws live outback of my house and my mother in law(whom I would like to sting up sometimes) is always full of words of wisdom. I could have lost my home, family, money and my arms and legs and really feel I should have some room to complain, well... the first thing out of her mouth would be, "now now, you know there is always someone worse off than you are" At times all ya want is a "feel sorry for me day" and this woman will NEVER let me have one. Sometimes it does a body good to have a day or two like that.

I do also feel terrible for those with no power, all I could think of yesterday was those that were stuck in elevators or on the subway, just packed in like sardines, I don't know that I could handle that. Down here in Fl with the storms we get everyday, our power goes out alot, and it is just amazing what I turn into when I have no electric. I go nuts!!!! Even if it is only for an hour.
I would imagine though if the power went out at the pharmacy, nothing could be done. I would assume they would have back up though(generators). I do hope for those of you waiting on meds that they come through for ya.

Pennsylvania is on a separate power grid and was in no way affected by the power outage. And I would suspect also that their airports experienced no problems too, so in terms of getting meds to people, I wouldn't worry.

I am expecting, hopefully, a package from NWW tomorrow. I was concerned about it getting delivered, so I called Fed Ex. They said they can't guarantee anything, that they may be running behind. Then I emailed NWW, and received a very quick response, saying that it's possible I may get my refill tomorrow, but it's possible I may not. Nobody's guaranteeing anything. I did get my tracking number this morning, but it's not in Fed Ex's system yet, which is normal, untill later today. I hope everyting works out for us all, especialy those people living without any power.

I am bummed to tell you this, but parts of Pennsylvania were affected, chiefly the areas around Erie.
I am holding my breath, because this is one time I really would like that truck to come through...

My son is a pilot and flies 3 or 4 times a week to and from Pittsburgh. I just talked to him a little while ago and he said flights are going out of that particular airport. I hope this information helps anyone who is worried

I emailed a refill request from EVMG's pharm, and didn't get a reply. Sent the email yesterday from Apoth. web site telling them that I am using another CC for my Monday order. I usually get a response (automated) right away, but nothing, and no email as well. Anyone have this problem? Are they affected by the blackout. The Pharm. is in Florida, so I wouldn't think so.

Thanks All!

I work for UPS and I think that the meds should get there on time, maybe 1 day late. They may not have been able to track the package properly , but they do have alot of battery operated scanners which should be able to track the package to a certain degree. FedEx's main Air Hub is in Memphis,TN. and UPS's is in Louisville KY. There were no problems with power at the main air centers, so unless your airport was shut down I wouldn't worry. Hope this helps and I pray that you will not have too much of a wait for your meds. Take care, KO

Hi
I live in south fl and on Wend around the middle of the state they had some horrendous storms, we had a tropical thingy move through and Iknow the middle part of fla got hit really hard, so I know the blck out didn't affect fl but some of those storms may have and they may not have gotton your email, we lost power down here for a time and I am sure they had probems to, just thought I wuold mention this as maybe your emial just got lost becaue of something like that, did you resend one? Hopefully that is what it was. I do know alot of the pharms are in fla and we really do get some awful storms pretty much daily in the summer and sometimes that might affect things for these pharms, if they do lose power for a period of time, Just a thought

ok, I received a tracking # for fed-ex from an op. It was sent to me yesterdat 8/15. and states that the # may take 24-48 hrs to show up in fed-exs system. I have tracked the number and it says, no records found for that tracking #...any info as to what this means? thanks! Anglwink

It usually means that it hasn't even had its first scan recorded yet. That means that the pharmacy has assigned it a number but it might not have been picked up yet. But then again, with all the problems that this country has had with electricity lately maybe the system is just way behind. I have had a package delived to me with just one scan, the delivery scan. Call the shipper and find out the problem, they are usually most helpful.

Update: My package from NWW made it through and is on the truck for delivery this morning. I guess Fed Ex was able to keep things running smoothly enough, although my refill did not come from or need to go through any of the electrically challenged areas.
