If you have ever used this service, you know that they give you a tracking number. They also warn you that you may not be able to track it once it leaves the United States.

I've only used it two times, with the same OP. The first time I was able to track it all the way through. This time it stops with "left the US from (name of city)"sometime Sunday morning. No more updates.

Have others experienced the same thing, tracking money order and such? Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't?

Would the USPS lie about whether a package safely left the country?

This is really important.

I would bet a year's pay that they could not place an inconspicuous hold on the electronic tracking intentionally even if they WANTED to.
It's federal, and already in the system, so I can almost positively guarantee the reason it's not showing up is either a) data malfunction or b) mishap or loss of package or container with the package.

I would bet almost anything that they could not intentionally, manually manipulate an already-working automated system... so I'd say it's definetely because of the defacto reason behind the "you may not be able to track" disclaimer. They're just not sharp enough to pluck out one transaction without leaving a log that would be obvious for you to see. My opinion, based on knowledge of tech and federal bumbling.....

Well, the recipient got it, so I guess it was a USPS snafu. All good.

I get the same result. It tells me when it left the country, 3 weeks ago but that's it. They call that tracking?
