While i do not order from IOP's i read a lot of the threads. i have never heard of people getting a LL that said this! is/has anyone else out there getting any LL's that state this as well?

It's a given that you get at least 1 if you've been into it since'03.

I thought all LLs were a standard form. I have seen quite a few of those letters that members have been kind enough to scan and post on this site. They all look very similar and contain the same wording and information. I've read nothing on these form letters that issues such a specific threat as 'you will be charged with a felony'. With all due respect, unless that letter was posted here (with the personal info blocked out of course) for us to see, I would be skeptical.

Considering I've been ordering online for YEARS, I think I have a pretty damned good record. All of these have been seized in the past nine months.

I joined this forum in early October.
It shook me up.
I didn't even know it was illegal because
they kept saying "pending Dr approval."
"FDA approved" etc.
I used to order back in 2003 Ambien overnite Fedex
to the front door. That seems to vanished with
these ROP's & OCS's which seems like alot of work.
With reliable IOP's like Airsealed,Wholesale,Todo
RXVogue,IMeds4u it's easier.
No LL's since I joined this forum.

The only seizure letter I got was when an IOP sent 100 phenobarb, 400 valium, 100 ativan, 1 bottle of codeine and 100 codeine pill in a clear plastic bag.

Yes that's right... A CLEAR PLASTIC BAG!!!!! WTF

Actually, after all these years, I've just received my very first one today.

It was during the 'DHL' mess with a particular IOP.
Tons of folks got packages detained and 'destroyed'...mine was one of them.

So I consider myself pretty lucky to have only gotten this one after this many years.

I've never had one come certified mail, they just arrive in the mailbox. If I did get one that was certified, then I would be a bit more concerend and stop ordering from IOP that resulted in a certified letter. Also you may never receive a LL at all, as you items could have been stopped at the country of origin.

The one I got is pretty standard I suppose, just comes regular mail.
I've seen pics of them on here in the past, and this one was pretty much just normal.

They did have my name misspelled, so no biggie.
I have learned from here after all this time to not worry over them.

They used to send LLs certified more frequently years ago but don't really seem to bother with that anymore.

i just got one. today in fact. ill scan it during the week so you guys can see, i dont want hubs to see so cant do during weekend. but it was a lot of pages ill tell you that! it was apparently seized 11/19 which means it was my order i never got from airsealed. i am in northeast. it was seized at JFK.

A lot of pages and from Airsealed is not what I needed to hear right now. Better go see if my man still has the same crib in the 'hood. Thank the Dept. of Homeland Security for taking it back to the streets.

Hi, I got one on the 21st Dec. problem is, i have no idea WHO it is from, I ordered from CAM in AUGUST, which was dumb anyway. Could it be I am just now getting the letter

Well, I've had 2; one was about 10 years ago and my second was this year. Peace...

At least 5. I remember CAM, Pharmaenergy, IM4U, and U2RX off the top of my head. Sometimes I get them when I have not ordered things in months so hard telling what those are.

As Ballerina suggests, that is most certainly a possibility. I received one at least 5 months after the apparent seizure. Others have reported receiving one a year later after the fact.

The date on the letter is always the date they generate the letter, which is not necessarily the date they seize the item.

Whether this lag is by design or because they fall behind in getting the letters out is unclear. I suspect the latter.

BTW, I just received "greetings" from CBP on Chistmas Eve and I'm confused trying to reconcile it with the seizure.

I had no trouble for many years, then had 3 in a row in 2006, I then gave up. However I have perhaps an interesting take on why the upsurge in the past several years. Most of these orders are placed by electronic mail, and we know the government has stepped up efforts to read electronic messages substantially. Prior to the Patriot act, this didn't mean much, since what the CIA or NSA picked out of these messages could not legally be turned over to Customs (now Customs and Border protection). That is not longer the case.
As a result, key words are picked off out of electronic messages, along with zip codes. All incoming mail to the USA is now bar coded with zip codes upon entry, so it became quite easy in the sort process to pick off zip codes where illicit goods are destined. This has vastly reduced the amount of work required by customs and border protection to seize goods. In fact, it is quite likely they can convert the shipping address to a 9 digit zip code, and actually program the post office equipment at port of entry to 'pull' everything sent to that 9 digit zip code, reducing the seizure effort to near zero. No longer does CBP need to sift through tons of mail!

So you can thank the Patriot act for a lot of this. Prior to the Patriot act, CIA and NSA were prohibited by law from passing the information on to domestic law enforcement. Patriot Act made the passing of such information mandatory.
