Not only outrageous, but these monthly consults will NOT legally meet the standard of the new Law which kicks in presummably in April.

I emailed them back to ask about reducing the consult price to help out those who cannot afford to pay $350 per month and was told the consult price WILL REMAIN AT $200 EACH MONTH.

That is simply ridiculous. This was a great company at one time but it looks like they are going downhill fast. Time to start looking for a new provider.

SWMG could easily help out by lowering Consult Costs to $70 per phone consult. It would cost them No More money as the average Phone Consult is less than 2 to 3 minutes.

Wow this is something new!! I thought SWMG was going the F2F route. I understand they have a doctor in Western Massachusetts, either in Amherst or Greenfield. Has anyone seen this doctor yet and if so, how did things go? PM me if you prefer and thanks to all of you.

350 hell!Try 450 if you are getting Hydros and Benzos. And as stated before, this will NOT meet the F2F requirement.Add to this that it takes over a week from consult to pharmacy, then your shipping time as well, you need to sign up for a reconsult the week after you receive your meds and pray that nothing will change in the days you wait after they have already charged your CC.I can forsee an email like this'"Due to the new requirements,Southwest has terminated all internet consults. For those of you who have already been charged and are awaiting a scheduled consult,we are trying our best to set you up with a service that will cover these last few weeks. We will have an answer for everyone within the next 7-10 days."And then the phones webpage, and emails addys all disappear into the night.

Maybe I missing something but what makes you think they are not going the F2F route? Although I live in Boston, they called me a few months back and told me I would have to see a Dr. in western MA (Amherst I think) due to the new law. Then phone consults after that. If they are not giving refills, but making patients pay for a phone consult each time, I agree it sucks. But as far as I know they are going the annual F2F route.

Anyone seen the doc in MA?

I think what will happen is that all the patients who end up getting this done to them will 1. Look for another provide who doesn't OVERCHARGE and 2. Email the DEA all the info regarding SWMG's doctors and pharmacy info. This will most likely be the end of SWMG within a month or 2.

I too was horrified! I have been with SWMG since 1999!
I stayed with them when they had many issues, lack of medications and the such. I also received the same canned message when asked if they would lower the monthly consult.
I will find another provider and I hope SWMG goes down in flames!
They were the best provider for many years (in my opinion) now the greed has taken over.
Most consults take 1-2 mins, I wish I could make that kind of cash!

you see that's the kind of , if i can't have mine i'll screw it up for everybody , attitude that has bruoght so much negative attention to this industry in the first place. if you can't afford their services why not just look elsewhere instead of looking to get even with them somehow.

I agree with you. If you can afford it, do it, if not, find someplace else. Turning them into the DEA isn't going to get any positive results. Plus, they seem to be requiring the F2F, which is what the DEA wanted in the first place.

The neuro my doctor wants me to go to charges $400 a visit. I can't afford it, so I don't go. I certainly don't try to have them shut down.

All - while this is a bit of a blow (and maybe a bit of a scam), they are not charging $350-$400 a month. The $200 consult per month includes the price of the meds (hydros or benzos or otherwise), just like it used to every three months. Or at least that's how it just worked for me. And I doubt I'm some sort of preferred customer.

They're also doing face to face once a year as long as there is a doc in your area.

No it does not include any meds. The consult price is 200 plus the med price which ranges due to meds and delivery service. I agree that paying over 300 (almost 400) every month right now is outrageous. Some have no choice until they can get a face to face or find a caring doctor near them. how bad do you not want to hurt?
