How do crooks operate?

Anyway they can.

The ideal victim is one that pays cash, money order, Western Union... and makes a large order.

Crooks know that new customers / victims are reluctant to place large initial orders and for that reason they will try to trick you into placing a small order which they will deliver... then when you are confident and send the large order they take your money

Once you part with you money crook wil either ignore you or they will try to convince you that your order got lost, seized, or anything else

When you and others find out they are crooks they close shop and open another with a new name...

That is the main reason why so many "online pharmacies" close: they just need a new identity to keep on doing what they do...

Also note that many sites claiming to be online pharmacies are not properly licensed.

So a money order like moneygram is more vulnerable than say a check?

EverSoClever: Moneygram and Western Union would be the most vulnerable from a scamming point of perspective, as once it is picked up, there is nothing you can do. Besides, a check would take ages, could bounce etc... But I imagine you could still do a chargeback like with a CC.

Well pointed out information Melody.

Just one thing to add: Often, when you don't receive your package; or rather, it doesn't get sent, you'll hear a sob story - the shipper was stealing from me - or - I have been away for X amount of days with aids etc. and I would suggest this is either:

A) Giving them time to clear and set up a new pharm

or

B) Hoping that people will still order, considering the shipper has been removed from post, or the aids has become better.
