I just recieved a seizure notice from customs, I am terrified, what will happen to me?

There is no simple answer to this as it depends on the products seized, the quantity, and many other factors. The main factor being if your prescription drugs contain controlled substances or not.

Importation of controlled substances is against the law in most countries. Only those with special permits can import controlled substances.

In principle... the general consensus among those using IOP's seems to be that if your order is small, and for personal use, you should not worry too much but that does not match what the law says.

U.S Law says that the act of importation of the drug from overseas violates 21 USC, Section 952 (up to 5 years in prison and $250,000 fine for importation of non-narcotic Schedule III, IV, or V drugs; more for narcotics and Schedule I and II drugs). The act of simple possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription violates 21 USC, Section 844 (up to 1 year in prison and $1,000 fine).

A large order of controlled substances can be interpreted as not for personal use. It is a very serious offense and you can go to jail for s long time...

How many pills are considered for personal use?

Nothing will happen to you. File it in your miscellaneous file, and count yourself lucky. If something were going to happen you wouldn't have rec'd the letter from customs, you'd have rec'd the dreaded knock at the door!

what country did u order from man stick with the USA

i'm 99% sure i got a fake "LL" from an IOP, and i want to call custom to verify if they have the reference # of the seizure on file.

Will there be any problems or repercussions in doing this? Any advice is appreciated. thanks.

The one thing I can tell you, that by calling them you are admitting that you are legally responsible for the package.

The one I got simply stated that "someone" in my household ordered something that's illegal to order in the state that it was ordered from and that they have it. If you want it, you have to come there with I.D (not a good idea, best to consider it a lost cause). They seem to be mostly interested in keeping you from getting it and educating you that it's a no-no, in case you weren't aware of it (most do, but take the chance anyway). I've had 2 so far, and don't feel like the are coming after me, just stopping me from doing what I'm doing.

I recieved a LL not too long ago in the mail. They stated they had a package addressed to me, containing such and such.

I was floored since I did not order any such and such, period.

Now I am really curious about what company was sending me a package. But there is no way in hades I am calling anyone to do any investigation of my own into it.

I've received two LLs in my lifetime. Both of which were immediately tossed. Nothing EVER came of them, and my ordering patterns still remain the same.

I don't think so. If they choose to go after you, I think that they will keep it on the federal level. I don't believe I've ever heard of a case where someone had local yokels kicking in their door over a LL.

We need to hire a lobbyist from drugbuyers, seriously. Does anyone know how to go about that. If we get together and hire a lobbyist, customs will leave us alone. Any suggestions on how to do this.

How can a seizure letter mean anything?
You (the consumer) never received anything.
They have it!
If you're not caught "with goods in hand", how can any LE prosecute.
Only way to bust someone is stake out / sting op..
That costs the gov't $10,000+ to initiate, man and deploy.
Large quantities, sch II's, steroids, etc., DO GET INCREASED ATTENTION.
LL's are a moot slap on the wrist.
Now 10 LL's for sch III's might get local attention, but small quan. schIII LL's are just too much trouble for the over-burdened LE people to bother with.

If i am understanding right and i don't know anything about LL but you are really questioning the iop in that they don't want to send your meds and thinking that they will try to scare you from re sending. So you really just want to prove a point to the iop. Cause they have your money and meds. right or am i reading this wrong

I would say no imho as in if you were really in trouble, you wouldn't get a letter. You would be set up for a controlled delivery. As in LE would personally attempt to deliver it to you at your home and get you to sign for it, then they would arrest you. This scenario would most likely only occur for Large orders of SCH4 meds (example, 3,000 valiums in a box) or more often for SCH2 (Oxycontin, Fentanyl, Rohypnol (ScH1 in U.S) or for large orders of SCH 3 meds, (hydrocodone, T'3, etc), now i'm not saying it is impossible not to have LE try to make an example of you over getting a pack of 100 valiums intercepted, as the previous poster stated, That would be quite expensive and take LE resources that would be better served going after the big fish. Basic rule is common sense.

I recently had an IOP offer me an AWESOME price on 1,000 10mg valiums. Something like 200 bucks and i asked how many packs it would be divided into, he said just 1. My response, "Sorry, no thanks. It is just too risky to get caught with that many"

Mine came from the same place, but the notice was for a medication I've never bought. I'm just letting it go, but it's perplexing.

I got one notice long ago, and I woke up right away. I thought a Florida company ripped me off for xanax, although I've always had a script I couldn't find a local doctor before almost running out and ordered just 30. Here comes the official letter stating they had seized the package in customs and if I wanted to claim it call, or they would dispose of it. That was it for me!!!! Responding to that type of letter is suicide, it doesn't matter what your legal stance is. Internet purchases of controlled meds do not make DEA or any federal/state monitoring agencies happy. Doesn't make sense to me, most people have been prescribed the med they're taking, far as I can figure. I guess we all need monitoring...

I recently read about someone calling the number on the LL they recieved (on this board, I forget which thread and what med) the person told on the other line asked if they had ordered, and they said yes. They told them not to do it again.

The issue for me here is that US Customs doesn't tell us from where the alleged parcel they seized originated. So, since it's for medicine I've never ordered, I have no idea if a company I've ordered from has made a mistake, or who the company is. ...or even if it's a legit LL.

I guess only time will sort this out, because, despite my anger involving these stupid laws designed to protect me from myself, I'm certainly not responding.

I've received one seizure letter, and I have been a client of a couple or more OP's and NOP's closed by the DEA. I wonder if the DEA is going to show up at my house next they are wasting so much time and money. I have a friend with her name recovered from more places. I'm sick of being told how I feel, what I can take for it, and all of this just running the price up for all of us.

How about the government staying out of my life? I live next to a person who is drinking an alcohol morning drink as she drives her daughter to school and thank goodness the little one gets a ride home.

How many have noticed that you turn on the t.v. and a person NEEDS a drink for their nerves, but I can't take a xanax for my nerves. I don't drink, but my preference for taking a small pill over getting a drink is against the law.

Sorry for the rant, I guess I NEED THAT DRINK of alcohol.
